My Birth Story! First Time Mom

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Our son, Peter James, is here! Today I'm sitting down to talk about our birth story. As a first time mom giving birth during a pandemic, I was a little stressed... But it ended up being an amazing experience.

Same here!! About to be 37 though in a day!🤍 Crazy to think she might be coming in 2 weeks!!! She is still breech and I’m not wanting to attempt to flip her and possibly cause harm, even though it’d be at the hospital and they’d be ready to run in and do a c-section anyways, rig away... but I just feel better scheduling one instead of possibly harming her.. I am so ready to meet my baby girl and my next appointment is the 30th so if she’s still breech I will be making my induction date (c-section) for the 39 week mark!

I did not even have to ask my husband if I pooped during labor. I could totally feel me have a bowel movement while trying to get that baby out LOL. And I could tell when I took a break in between the contraction the nurse just cleaned up the pad and moved on. But, I truly did not care that I had a bowel movement, all I was focused on was getting that baby OUT! It is so fun hearing birth stories! congratulations to you and Jacob!! Peter is so special! I just want to say thank you so much for sharing your story and for going into detail without making it sound gory or over-dramatic. i did not have an epi for either of mine but it sure sounds like a dream! lots of pain but very very quick and like less than 10 pushes for both. youre right its like having the biggest poop ever... and as soon as u get to 10cm you can start pushing as hard as u can with each contraction. i also was told to "push through the ring of fire" because it burns so much as the head stretches through... nice to hesr those birth stories, it can help others

I’m 26 weeks and watching so many birth stories at the moment, definitely know that I want an epidural but same as you I’m hoping to wait as long as possible so I have more freedom to move around etc. terrified of the thought of a c section but either way I know I’ll be ok, just the fear of the unknown at the moment! Sounds like you had an amazing delivery. My boy was born June 1. Mine not so much. I got to the hospital too late and they didn’t want to give me an epidural. I progressed so quickly at home. I begged for it at 9cm. Lucky I did get it because it took me about another hour to reach 10 and another 2 hours of pushing. Also got an episiotomy. So overall not fun.

Man, jealous. Baby girl (Naomi) finally came on June 20th. I was due June 15th, and I got checked on the 12th and was only a fingertip dilated and they said at the time "50%" effaced. They pushed back my induction time the night before I was supposed to go in by 12 hours...and then I ended up going in halfway through the day anyways because baby stopped moving regularly. So scary. They were super late inducing me, I experienced no "natural" contractions (pitosen put me in contractions that doubled over each other) and were super rough. Then I went from 6cm to 10cm in 40 minutes and was suddenly in active labor. And THEN her heart rate kept dropping as I pushed and they grabbed the vacuum and pulled her out in 6 minutes. (Re: I tore very badly, and she ended up having to be checked out by neo-natal immediately). So rough. Labor is no joke. She's here and safe, but I think we're both sort of traumatized by the whole thing.

@@TheBudgetingWifeI see. Did your water break at that time? Do you have a chronic high blood pressure or diabetes? Were you taking medications like angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors? Is the fetal growth poor? If you are healthy and the baby is healthy, the solution is as simple as hydration. Even when the water breaks, the mother should continue to hydrate. If it is not time, the bag can seal itself back again. That's how amazing a woman's body is. Natural labor starts with the initiation of the baby. It is always better for baby to initiate labor. During natural labor, oxytocin is released in pulses and in very low amounts. The baby has rest periods in-between. It is always the baby who initiates the contraction. In contrast to induction method, Pitocin (the syntheic hormone) is released in drips, steadily. It would cause the uterus to contract and contract without proper spacing. You can just imagine squeezing and squeezing the baby. That alone causes stress to the baby. And the mother too. That is why induction as a solution is always a questionable route.

Selfish? Really? Poor choice of words if you ask me. She literally just used her body to grow another human being. She gave birth which is one of the hardest and most beautiful things a woman can do. And if she is breastfeeding she is giving even more. But who are you to come in and tell another woman who just gave another human being life (one of the least selfish things you can do) and try and tell her how she should live her life? Sounds like you need to get off your high horse and maybe start conversations to learn more instead of just assuming and being nasty. That sounds like a very miserable way to live life. I have absolutely nothing against adoption at all as I want to adopt sometime in the future. I have family members who were adopted and my husband was also adopted. It is also a very beautiful journey and can be a very very difficult one none the less. You seem very young just based on such a small understanding of what it is to be a parent and life in general. I could be wrong but I don’t think so. I wish you all the best and hope you are able to adopt a lot of children and give them the best life possible. Best of luck and hope you find a bit more optimism and realism in your life.
