One tip for the spanner: get a Knipex 86 03 180... probably even a bit lighter I would guess than the spanner and more versatile since you can also clamp very nicely (straighten bent rotors, press in small bearings, hold stuff, hold and turn stuff, etc.)

What do you think of the smallest one 86 03 125? Do you think it's too small? The 150 is inbetween the 125 and 180.

So it’d be a vegetable or a sugar. I’d personally label it a sugar, but I could see where a lobbyist could twist it into a vegetable.

I always hope that the "essential bikepacking kit" videos will give me extra things I don't pack... Still waiting! I also substitute the fold out multi tool with a silca mini torque ratchet set. I then also have a pair of Lyzene quick link plyers that also has a chain breaker and extra quick links held magnetically to it. The leatherman is a great tool - I'm on my second. The adjustable wrench I take is smaller but has a similar range. Another think I take not on this list is a small pot of chamois cream - just incase delicate areas begin to call for help....

[Another thing I take not on this list is a small pot of chamois cream ] A small tube of hydrocortisone cream is even better. I get prescription strength (2%) though. Needless to say, it is prescribed. (If prescribed, get it with the anti biotic/fungal/yeast cream mixed)

I always carry a full patch kit and and the stick on patches. The stick on patches are fine if the tube is dry, sanded and the patch is held down for 2 minutes with your thumbs, this allows the glue time to cure. People forget glues don't fix in a second, the chemical reaction takes time.

3:32 no way, Park Tool GP-2 Pre-Glued patch kit is the one! Use the little square of sandpaper in the kit, stretch out the tube slightly when applying the patch and it’s been 100% reliable for me. Last time I got a puncture I found a patch on the tube from around 2-3 years ago still holding on just fine.

Interesting comment on pre-glued patches. After a string of them not sticking, I gave up. I was cast as a heretic for doing so! I don't mind doing the extra steps with real glue if the patch is going to last more than a few minutes. Problem is the quality of the glue has gone way downhill of late (I'm an old guy) In decades past, the glue had some ingredients that are now missing from most of the glues I've tried. And that includes Park! Some specific chemicals are prerequisites for the glue to work. And yes, I burnish the rubber, yada, yada, yada. I've been cycling for over half a century and done it on three continents.
