My best Pike session EVER!

Спорт

What an epic short session on my beloveded river Eden.
The Pike were ravenous and causing my bungs to dip under regularly.
A new river PB was the result of my best pike fishing session ever!.

One of my favourite videos that mate - loved the impression of the crayfish 👌

Really enjoyed that . Reminds me of fishing as a youth growing up in England many years ago . Not that I was ever lucky enough to catch a fish like that ! That swim by the bridge looks really " fishy " . Caught lots of bleak in the Thames and understand they are not as plentiful as they once were . My favorite rivers to fish were the Itchen , Test , Hampshire Avon and the Wye . Very entertaining and great watching when you are stuck at home . Makes me want to dust off my gear and get out and try my luck here in Canada . Thank again !

Thanks for watching Colin. I'm so please my video made you feel that way. I'm fishing that swim today for the last day of the season hoping to catch some tench and Bream. You sound like a man with good taste in rivers from the list you mentioned.

Thanks Paul . Look forward to seeing your video about that session . That stretch of river sounds great - has many different species to target . I watch lots of UK fishing videos but yours stand out as although you are clearly a very accomplished fisherman you keep it " real " with a great sense of humour like oh I forgot my reel for that rod so I'm turning it into a whip said with a chuckle ! And on the Itchen - oh no not another damn trout ! What will you do in the Closed Season I wonder ? Do some lakes and ponds stay open ? Maybe you take a break as looks like you have a few other things to occupy your time !! Cheers , from Colin in the Vancouver area of Western Canada .

Thanks for the kind words they are really inspiring. During the close season I generally mourn for a week or 2 and then get organising work party's on the river and fish a lake or 2 then start prebaiting ready for the glorious 16th 👍

Thanks maxine, was a lovely day in the sun and loads of action, I could sit all day feeding the bleak just to watch the pike do their thing.

Thanks Clive, all came good in the end. But pike takes on deads are a bit of a hit and miss affair I reckon I'm running at about 65% landed fish to bites, some of the takes have been so subtle.

@@PaulVicaryfishing it might be worth giving circle hooks a try, you're limited to the size of bait you can use, which is a bit of a pain, but I'm totally sold on them and they are a hell of a lot easier to unhook, nine times out of ten the pike are hooked in the scissors

Nice pike my friend! I had a similar experience back in early October, there was a massive feeding frenzy going on in front of me just down from a weir, I managed to catch a Rudd for live bait and waited and waited until eventually a 19.8 took it! Great video!

Thanks for watching. Doubles can be few and far between on the Eden, but areas with good numbers of silvers definitely hold the big girls.

Hi Natalie thanks for watching, that's a great idea I have caught pike before on double minnow, so bleak would be great.

Good evening Justin, thanks for watching, Hever lake is run by Edenbridge angling society who's membership is now closed until next spring, the free stretch in the town is pretty good for pike and big ol perch. Tight lines
