The strange thing about people who make mean comments is that it fits so well with the old saying, “misery loves company” meaning they WANT others to feel their same misery. So sad! Prayers for ALL miserable folks.

I am so old I told my husband it's fun to watch these people shopping for mid-century modern and a lot of things everybody picks up. I say we used to have one of those. We were married in 1971.

You wanna feel OLD ? how bout when these "youngsters" that go hunting for REALLY REALLY OLD TOYS - and it's Ninja Turtles and Strawberry Shortcake dolls As if 1989 was 100 years ago ! LOL I was only in 4th grade in 1971.

I was married in 1966 and I am the same, when my husband and I were on holiday a few years ago we went to a museum and the things we saw in there that we used to have makes you feel really old.
I think Laura's vehicle must be like Hermione Granger's bottomless bag! Such a fun trip - and totally looking forward to the haul video.
I appreciate the pace at which you move the camera and describe items - thank you for a calm voice.
I'll be watching for when you find the perfect chess set. It's out there because my family had one in the 70's. Its ceramic with critters. I learned to play with a turtle that moves slow and straight, a butterfly that flew on a diagonal, a frog that jumps forward and across, and the little worms inched forward one at a time. The king and queen were of course birds. It was lovely, and all set up on mushroom stamped squares. Very, very mcm. It's out there somewhere and I hope I find it, and if I don't I hope I watch you find it.
I collect white pitchers. What a great shop. My boyfriend and I used to go thrifting every weekend. Sadly he is no longer with us. He was the absolute best you could find. It's been rough.

We have that cash register in our family! It was in my GF 's general store! I've only ever seen it two other places: the Waltons TV show and a restaurant in Bosnia Herzegovina ( Eastern Europe).
You just helped me yet again get through my hated morning dishes! Your videos are astoundingly good Laura AND you are so tactful in your narration about items and venues. Other KZreadrs are not. It goes a long way to be positive and kind. Not negative and dismissive. Blessings on your Left Coast Flea🕊️
Put a piece of Turquoise to replace the missing wooden piece in the Wooden Sculpture Wall Hanging. I work at a Clock Shop in NM and I fix lots of those Wooden Slab Wall Clocks with Turquoise for the numbers. Those clocks are from the 1970s. That piece you found reminds me of the clocks! (smile)
I use one part water to one part white vinegar on my cast iron pans. I let them soak (if they are bad) for at least 30 minutes & then use a wire brush to scrub the rust off. This way is non- toxic & it really works! 😊

Oxi White "Revive" will remove those stains on vintage linens. Make sure it's Revive you are buying. If you have a Soak feature on your washer. Add the reccomended amout of yhe powder, use hot water, add your linens and let them soak. Once done the stains should be gone. Then do a gentle wash. If any of the stains remain just repeat the Revive step and they will be gone. It hasn't failed me yet. AND... if they have colorful embroidery on them it won't bleach out the colors.😊
Great finds. I have an embarrassingly large collection of vintage linens. Oxiclean gets out 98% of any stain I've encountered over my 30+ years of collecting.

Laura! Fascinating treasures galore!! Oh, what fun to shop along with you!! I can't help but notice you passed up an Elsa Schiaparelli scarf for $3.75; she is one of the most famous Italian designers! Fun, fun!! Your Italy trip was magical!!

I just posted a comment on that same scarf...but when she pulled it out, one corner was completely shredded. Consoling myself that it didn't have a very exceptional design. 😉
You may not have the time but linens are so clean. I dump a heaping cup of oxyclean in my lobster pot filled with boiling water, or almost boiling. Let soak, stir with a wooden spoon, drain, rinse., this is important two or three rinses May be necessary. 6:01 After rinsing I take to a clean table on my patio covered with a big white towel. If there’s any stain left the sun will finish it.
I often use "Sharpies" to hide scratches and mars. They come in all colors. Also nail polish is great for ceramics, etc...
I love vintage fabrics. Lately I've taken to buying stained ones and working to make them new again. Takes time but it is a satisfying new hobby.

That sweet creamer set @ 22:10 - glad you picked it up! I think is Elmer E. Gorton of American Terra Cotta & Ceramic Co. (1886 - 1927). He was a ceramicist and chemist. I Swear - Oregon has the BEST stores! And they look practically empty of shoppers!
I giggled throughout this video every time you would say "My car is full" and then find more and more treasures that you knew you would find a way to squeeze in. It reminded me of when you are somewhere enjoying amazing food and although you are sooo full already, you keep having "just one more" because it's just that good! :)!

I grew up in the 70s & 80s going to bars with my dad (in the daytime)and he would always give me change to play the jukebox. He would also let me pull the lever to get his cigarettes out the machine.. These are great memories for me...I would love to have one & a cig machine to put candy bars in

If you want to get linens truly white - wash them your favourite way but dry them by laying them on the lawn in the bright sun. I always put a old sheet down and then laid out my stained things.

I have that cast iron cat. Mine has round tiles in the two circles. Ebay has one and it's listed as an ashtray. I would think using it as an ashtray, the cigarette would sit between the legs and you'd put out the cigarette on one of the tiles. I have mine sitting on a table. It's too cute to let it get dirty.
we used a pestle like that in a cone shape colander to make applesauce...cook the apples and place in colander and the pestle squeezes the sauce out and leaves the peeling in the colander😄

Hello Montreal.. I lived there in 1969 as a 14 year old ... Watched them walk in the moon while living there. Only lived there for one year, my father's job took us there. My teacher gave up on teaching me French...lolol
Do you clean the artifacts you purchased, or do you leave them with the same patina? How about polishing shoes or purses? Do you clean all the furniture you purchase for a better resale value? About jewelry, do you polish the pieces? I know I would. I would LOVE to get into vintage resales, but knowing me, I would want to keep everything I buy which is NOT a good thing since I am trying to "lighten up" my stuff. Thanks for your posts!!
I bought my first piece of myrtle wood while driving through Oregon back in the 1970’s. I’ve loved it ever since.
I was glad the volume was much better this time. I like watching you on your little trips such marvelous finds.
Every time you said 'we are getting this!' I was like giiiirrrl...... Can't say I blame you though, those last 2 stops were amazing! When it comes to how much you can pack in a car on trips, my family's philosophy has always been 'one more thing'. And you get fond memories of the ride home with your arms around an antique overmantel...😆 Bring on the unpacking show-n-tell!

I think the metal cat was a cookie mold. Also the Delft creamer is a modern reproduction. It’s still Delft made in the Netherlands but it has the modern stamp on the bottom.
Today I was feeling so low, but your positive vibes thrifting made me happy 😅🎉😅🎉😅🎉 Thank you for your content!
I’m always so excited when you post a new video! And after all the fun of watching you shop, there is the decorating reveals! Better than Christmas!
Hi, Laura! I’ve been waiting for you to post this video, since I was in Klamath Falls on a thrifting day with 2 girlfriends not long after you were there (and saw your table cards on the counter advertising the Rose City Vintage Market/Left Coast Flea at Keepers!) 🥳 We too hit the Goodwill, both Hospice stores (scored some myrtlewood there), and Keepers (still having a number of vendor sales, sooo good!), but sadly did not have time to make it everywhere and now clearly need to return to hit the last 2 stops on your tour (Spring Street Antiques, wowsa!). Oh, Klamath Goodwill store is actually part of a network of stores called Southern Oregon Goodwill (include Klamath, Medford, Ashland, White City, Central Point, Grants Pass, Roseburg and Yreka in No. California) and they do some distribution among all of the stores (I’m in them enough the staff at many stores know me, and have a high school friend who works in the Grants Pass one, so I ask them all about how things work-plus my donations at my local GW in GP I’ve actually later seen at other stores). But we were also pleasantly surprised at all of the great finds at that GW location. What pawn shop did you stop at (we saw one when downtown near our lunch spot, Leap of Taste, so yummy, on Main Street. Would be interested to know, great jewelry finds!) Glad you had so much success in such a small community--and love the Belgium pottery piece, found one quite similar at my GW, very cool. 🌸
For the rust- just soak in apple cider vinegar for a couple days and the rust just washes right off. No elbow grease needed.
AMAZING as always Laura! I have a small suggestion if you don't wish to pull a trailer - Rooftop Carrier - GAMECHANGER!
The round wood thing is an old jeweler’s (watch maker) Punch tool stand
Laura, you are a true inspiration x
Cast iron clean up…..kosher salt and steel wool, if the rust is beyond that a wire brush will do the job for you. Then a light coat of lard or coconut oil and like 45 minutes in a 150 oven. Make sure you put a piece of foil or parchment paper on the shelf below so you don’t have a mess after.
So many fabulous finds!
Vegetable oil or an oil & vinegar base cleans off rust..I saw someone trapped in room with rusted door hinges escape the room on an episode of the TV show "Columbo" by using an oil & vinegar salad dressing!! No joke it worked!!Sandee from Ohio 💜💜😊
I love those brass candle holders so much , I would have wrapped them and ducked taped on top of my Suv ,deadheading home !!!!
Thank you Laura for taking us to a new location. Great finds

Omg what a freaking haul! Love love love it all!
I use a product called Evapo-rust for restoring antique door hardware. It’s non toxic, and you can reuse it over and over. You just soak the pieces for a few hours to overnight and the rust is gone. I highly recommend it! This city looks like a place I need to visit! Can’t wait to see everything!
