My Best Ever Finish as a Rookie in iRacing

Ойындар

I've been on iRacing in the MX5 Class as a rookie for a few weeks now, and today I'm going to get my best ever finish in a race! Join me and see how I do it and how I have learned from you guys to improve my sim racing technique.
As always, I had a load of fun with this so if you are interested in seeing more sim racing content like more iRacing, other sim racing games, sim racing set up videos, or reviews of sim racing gear, then please subscribe and let me know in the comments below!

Good to see you start spotting incidents early. I do highly recommend you use relative blackbox, this will give you live gaps so if you spin you can see if its safe to rejoin the track

Heyo! That was a fun video, i'm totally down to see you improve and hopefully get to race you on some top split somewhere! There are three things that i saw that you could fix and would help with your consistency a lot: First, your sensitivity curve in your steering wheel is not linear! You move the steering a bit in the center, and it moves a lot. That makes iRacing do some really weird stretching of the steering range, and then the force feedback starts acting weird, and then you start swerving like crazy on a straight because your steering can't keep pointing to the center. This is probably a GHUB setting, which if you just have a standard G29/G27/G923/G930 you should just keep on default at 50 The second thing is that you are not blipping on the downshifts, so the engine gives a peak of braking on the rear as it tries to match the speed, and then you spin out. It's more obvious when braking and turning, but on the straights it also triggers ABS and heats the tyres, so... not recommended. And the third thing is not so much consistency but speed: keeping the engine in the powerband! You lost some drag races on the main straight thanks to exiting the corner in 2nd instead of 1st. Learning the speeds for each gear helps, and also the rpm at which the car ends as soon as you upshift. For example, MX5 gears are 100, ~130, ~165, ~180. If you are exiting the last turn at 80kph, then you should be in 1st for the next lap, and send it to the inside of that green mx5! Hope you can apply that and feel more comfortable in the car, the MX5 is a great car to learn vehicle dynamics!

This stupid MX5 is why I gave up on iRacing. I hate this car so much.
