With everything going on currently in the world I understand that I may not be able to continue prospecting. Our country’s leaders are leaning towards total lockdown. I only have a short backlog of videos to share over the next coming weeks. I want to thank all those that have supported me and my channel this last year as I’ve grown my channel and made friends with a lot of you out there. I hope this all passes soon and we can all be together again.

You’re experiencing something that few alive today get to savor. Imagine when days like that must have been rather common in the Rush Era. You deserve everything you get because you go out and get it with hard work. The harder we work, the luckier we get.

Another amazing vid. Glad to see you have GPS. For safety’s sake. I know what it like, I grew up in the woods of the Everglades in Florida. My whole life never got lost....well, except for that one time back in 93’ but hand held GPS wasn’t really easy to come by. But I got out. Lol

Yeh I have only been lost the once also and I found where I was within 10mins but the gps will be a good thing for sure and has other good uses also

Fantastic find mate, you have put the hard work in and had some luck finding this treasure so well done. I agree 100% about the bedrock and gold being trapped inside. Last trip I took a thermos and the old faithful cup a soup and wow that helped for a while. Tassie Boys Prospecting I know what you mean, I am still using a 3mm surfing wetsuit. What has made a huge difference is the BARE vest that I bought. They have a full 7mm wetsuit with the same material. They are designed for cold water diving, there is a red fibre lining on the inside that users your body heat and traps it within the suit. Wow so warm, My arms and legs feel the cold but my core is super warm. Great reviews too. Check out the brand BARE. I believe they may be Canadian brand and only available at GO Dive Hobart and Launceston. Not cheap but they are cheaper than a Dry Suit and after speaking with the staff they reckon in TAS rivers this would be the way to go.

Since you seem to spend half your life in the bush anyway Levi, maybe you could just set up camp out there for the next 4 weeks of the lock down. If you need any supplies just send me your GPS co-ordinates and I will bring them to you. Anyway, another awesome video and can't wait for the second installment. We just love it when you find a crap tonne of gold and we find sweet fa in the same bloody creek. Please leave a little bit for us to find when we are once again allowed out to play. As it is we have only been out twice in the last 6 weeks, once where we ran into Jarom on our way back from the 'unnamed creek' and again on Sunday just gone where we found all the creeks we visited had turned brown because of the rain. I think the way you take the time to systematically and fully explore each area before abandoning it on is a major key to your success and if you wanted to teach prospecting to someone that kind of perseverance would be the first lesson. As you well know, finding gold is 99+% searching, digging, failing and often going home empty handed and disillusioned . The other 1% is awesome and makes all the rest worthwhile. Hope to see you out there again, but not until we have exhausted whatever creek we are in at the time.

@@officialtassieboysprospecting Hey Levi......I left my phone on the roof of my car 4 weeks ago and it got run over by 2 cars. I lost all of my contacts including yours. I can only assume I know where you were and we were there on Sunday, which was our third trip there. Once when we were trying to access another river, another where it took us 8 hours to cut our way in (from the other end of the creek) and then only did 3 or 4 pans but got a few specks before dark. Because we found those few specks many months ago, we went again on Sunday to snipe the same spot and found absolutely nothing and by 11:30 the water was too dirty to see anyway. We were looking well downstream not too far up (1km) from the junction with another river. We parked off the main track next to an old campfire on a side track. There is some beautiful bedrock way upstream with large cobbles in conglomerate but visibilty was zero so will park it until we get a leave pass. BTW, the message on FB of the 1.03g nuggie was from the better half. She found it in the usual flogged out spot because we were too stuffed to go anywhere else that day. We got another 2.04 grams which is amazing considering how many people have gone there.

Sounds like the same spot I’ve had the best I’ve only done the overnight and one other trip there now. The two crevices not far downstream of where you camped there wasn’t much else there to work and second day worked part way up to where the road crosses creek. Congrats on that nuggie and the 2grams I have one spot at the flogged our river I think I should still do another couple of grams at least in no rush to go there i seem to be having my best success in new creeks now smaller creeks tend to be having chunkier gold minus the last one that just has lots. I’ll be in touch mate and definitely think we should hook up for a trip sometime if Kelly can share 😁

@@officialtassieboysprospecting We are basically scouting out places to snipe when we get locked out by high water elsewhere and in the process we have found some magic spots, gold or not. I don't think we will venture back to the flogged out river although there are a couple of spots I would like to check, but maybe next season. I think the new area has a lot of potential with a couple of spots nearby. Also trying to get some gear that will stop us solidifying when it gets colder. I am sure I can get a day pass but failing that I'll pretend I'm going to work 🤐

😂 yes it was actually a very easy going crevice to work for a change so that couldn’t be more true except for the bloomin over hanging branches 😂

An absolute awesome day Levi , beautiful gold , very exciting indeed . Yes i agree with your theory about bedrock holding gold , where i prospect the plateau above the river was a big gold mining area in it's day , with many mines , and one only closed down about 6 years ago . But a company had tested , and were proposing to crush the whole mountain plateau and found that the granite outcrops contained between 3 and 5 pennyweigth to the ton , however it was stopped for environmental reasons . But the granite bedrock can hold gold . great vid mate cheers .

Thanks mate yes there’s plenty of hard rock mining of gold this ones a little strange having alluvial gold in it creeks must have been ferociously moved about with the earth or lava and then set as rock again
