Also, check the early recordings of Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Lester Young, The Andrews Sisters, et al. 'Tis a shame that when The Beatles broke BIG, this music sorta had to scoot over. Rock & Roll nudged it out, maybe. /// Look more for "Swing" than for "Jazz." Gershwin wrote so, so much, and Duke Ellington! Wow. Irving Berlin, Hoagie Carmichael.

This guitar playing is insane. Honestly it's Tommy Emmanuel level. And Larkin's voice is perfect. What an absolute treat to watch.

Actually I think he’s better because nobody ever explained the concept of “less is more” to Tommy. This guy’s so incredibly versatile on stringed instruments and sings like an angel to boot!

@@steveshanahan1240 Exactly. TE is 5 billion notes a second, most of them fretted poorly too. Josh's playing is more vivid and supple and not about showing off tempo. True musicianship to me.

I’m 68 and when I see what young people are doing with music it makes me feel young and what a wonderful time it is to be alive. I love what they do with the avenues available to them they are so smart.

Isn't it wonderful when Josh manages to outdo himself? Larkin's brilliant tones and the ambiance of the lighting. We are in the presence of genius here people.

Larkin's voice is so smokey and sultry. Perfect! And Josh is always amazing.

Yes, Tommy Emanuel quality guitar work. There is no higher praise. And Larkin sings like a lark. Delightful!

This performance, capturing all the feel and the attitude of the original composition, and with the added intimacy of the setting, is one of my most treasured youtube videos. These two wonderful young musicians created a little masterwork here.

You all are so young, but you play & sing with heart...soul and intensity. I wish the nonsense thats played on the radio could sound a fraction as good as this. Your not on your way.......your there. In so many of Josh’s videos people ask for tabs ... his left hand stuff is great, but not overly complex like whoa Ted Greene. What going on with the right hand is where the action is. The rhythm - the thumb covering the bass lines, the percussion slaps with the fingers and palm, getting it independent, putting it all together and making it flow. I’d rather Josh put out some basic right hand coordination exercises ...

Josh Turner Great great guitar work. Magnificent swing and groove + wonderful details. It's amazing that someone at your age can pull this off. Usually the swing and the feeling is missing among young guitar virtuoses. I am very impressed. It would be great if you could do a lesson on this one, and some other ones.
