My buddy was ‘lost’ when the family moved cross country. It broke my heart. It took 30 years and a new partner who understood for me to realize what that did to me and for me to realize it was ok to have a buddy. I now have Peanut who is a creamsicle build a bear, Pancetta and her brother Prosciutto who are soft piglets from IKEA, and Pibbles who is an orca we picked up on our travels.

I almost lost Frog on a road trip when I was in middle school. I left him in a hotel room. I found out 4 hours into our drive but I threw such an epic meltdown, my dad turned around and we picked him up. I’m sorry you lost your buddy, but really happy you have some new ones! Special buddies are really important.

I have a new special buddy. I think I hid this whole aspect of myself and now I have a weighted support dog. I have 2 REAL small dogs too, and have always had some sort of furry pet, cats, dogs and even Guinea pigs. I think they were a more "acceptable" form of special buddy for me once I became an adult. Now I understand and thank you for showing me this and for sharing your extremely handsome pair of buddies. I have the cutest dogs.

Yes, I also had a lot of pets growing up, and also a blanket in addition to Frog. He appreciated your compliment too 😁 and your dogs sounds awesome! I bet they are great buddies to have around

I love your channel! My grown autistic family member will love it, too. I will be 73 next month & not medically diagnosed, but I feel that I am autistic. I have 3 family members that are, also. I feel so sorry for the little girl that I was all those growing up years. I had one doll. My aunt took it home with her one summer to make new clothes for it for Christmas. I never knew what happened to it. And I think I have been told that I thought it was a new doll. I remember the original doll but not the "new one". I'm thankful that way more is known about autism now.

I have a baby blanket named Bubba. It's actually a comforter that was going to be thrown out because the stuffing was removed after a dog ate a hole through it... but I deemed it too soft and now I ball it up and use him as a pillow because I'm not keen on actual pillows, but Bubba provides the perfect amount of head elevation. Without this blanket, I am not comfortable. I feel like Linus from Peanuts. I tried to hide it from my partner back when we first met, but that didn't last long. Now, I found out recently that after I leave, they steal Bubba from my side of the bed and snuggle up with him, agreeing he is the perfect head elevation!!! Special buddies are the best!!!

My buddy is Gwonk. A monster dog (a plush puppet from the My Pet Monster line who first appeared in 1986). Gwonk has blue fur, horns, a fanged smile, and wears orange plastic handcuffs. He guards all the other buddies from any harm. He's a lot nicer than he looks though!

It's so nice to have a badass protector like Gwonk. He carries a lot of responsibilities being the protector of all the other buddies. My badass protector is Bernard. He's a massive grizzly bear (almost 3 feet tall) that sits next to my furry army and guards them all. I gave him a really soft wool sweater to wear last year and I think he really appreciated that.

@@ChrisandDebby It's awesome to hear about Bernard. I bet they liked that sweater a lot. Good to know there are other protector types out there. Maybe there should be a badass buddy meetup someday. They could all talk about their adventures.

I got Teddy when I was 6 years of age only 10 days until I turned 7 and he has been my buddy ever since. He was a gift from my grandfather, I know now my mother bought him with money he gave her, but the thought always counts. A few days after getting him, a dog named Fonzie chewed his nose off. When I was about 11, he lost an eye. He has been on a lot of Drum and Bugle Corps trips across the US, lost after one of them, found cleaning out the lost and found the next spring. Had a girl rip him on purpose while teasing me about him, he has had two surgeries to repair such a terrible injury. He is only 2 years younger than my husband who knows about him. My husband is partial right now to a big IKEA panda we call Serenity. Teddy is real to me, always will be. I find it interesting that yours is named fFog, Debbies is named Beavs, and mine is Teddy.

Sorry to hear what has happened to Teddy - he has been through a lot! But he also must know he is very loved. Frog has also had a couple major surgeries, mostly to repair his shorts so his innards wouldn't come out. Also love how the names of our buddies all go well together 🙂 Teddy sounds like an amazing buddy

Oh my gosh! I love this! Yes I have a special buddy. He is/was a white bunny. His name is Thumper from Bambi’. He has gone with me on all my big life transitions. I set him up in the hospital across from me while I was giving birth to my baby girl… no shame. That bunny represents so much to me! And yes, my husband is well aware of him.

I have a striped teddy bear that I have had since I was like 4. I named him "Tree" because he looks like a tree! (Though it took my parents a while to realize his name is "Tree" and not "treat.") This video made me think of him. ❤

My buddy is an orange terry cloth bear. She's kinda got a crooked look bc an eye bulges, but very distinguished. So she just gives judgy side-eye, like a hard to impress art critic. She's the best. She agrees that Frog and Beavs are quite handsome. 🤭 🫶🏻

My buddy is virtual, but I guess you can kinda compare it to a physical furry suit or something. It's not me, but it represent as me in an alternative reality you can create virtually. Do you have ADHD or ASD? AuDHD is not all of ADHD and all of ASD, your a unique blend that create a third type. I really liked the meal last night, because I cherry picked what I ate, I don't actually like the meal.... So for someone that likes the entire thing and for someone who doesn't like anything, how is it fair for me to steal their experience and watering down to the part I represent? I'm worried the AuDHD community is confused and not understand what it means to be JUST ASD or JUST ADHD and by representing the AuDHD experience as ADHD or ASD, your confusing the ADHD/ASD people. You are even confusing AuDHD people. I think a big reason for imposter syndrome, is that your not ASD enough or ADHD enough, when your experience is filtered through AuDHD.
