I believe it is the other way around. Filipinos were kind and welcoming to him when he first arrived as boy and no family with him. The community took him in and help him develop to be the wonderful man he is. He is returning the blessings that were given to him by tue kindness of the locals. Being blessed and blessing others is a full circle.
