Hello there! Nice to see the setup completed after 3 months😂 Didn't know that Camponotus Barbaricus like wood nests, but seems they didn't have much choice. Either way I am curious how the colony develops in the future! 🙂👌

Yes, I am aware that this species perhaps is not superbly suited for wooden nests due to them not living in wood in the wild. But I figured that they dont exactly live in Ytong either, so I wanted to try :P

I’ve got 2 wood nests coming from Foranto. I can’t wait to get them even though my ants are hibernating at the moment.

Have you ever seen completely black variant of any non black ants? I have a wild pheidole colony whose real colour is dark red with black gaster but i have seen like 3-4 minor workers and one soldier that are completely black in colour.
