Just got a new dog from the shelter. The people at the shelter said he was a German Shepard, collie, and husky mix. The vet said it wasn’t husky, but Great Pyrenees because of his rear dewclaws. I’ve googled lots of different breed mixes trying to find out what Rico might be, with no luck. That is, until I found your videos. Kane is the ONLY dog I have seen that looks close even to Rico. Brown eyes, long snout, tan legs, light tan under the snout, brown and dark brown mottled coat. Only difference is floppy ears and longer fur on his head, neck, and tail (collie?) I absolutely adore Rico. He is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. If he really does have some wolf in him, that is so damn cool.

Now I've had a wolf-dog and I now have a Siberian Husky pup and 4 large pitties and pit crosses. My wolf-dog was the most intellectual of all my rescue's. Amazing animal. This Husky pup is a handful but not the wild untrainable animal people say they are. Now don't get me wrong, as a pup she is feisty but such a clown she is so fun! NOT and hear me please...NOT a dog for anyone but a very well seasoned owner. I've rescued bully breeds of all sorts for 30 years. Pits are cake next to a Husky! But I enjoy her energy and I'm a disabled 62 yr. old! That tangerine oil thing, I'll have to read on that. Interesting. I read below that a lot of people say you can't have furniture or nice things...balderdash! I have very fine furniture and SW Indian artwork. Always have. Can't say there hasn't had nips and a scratch or two but no destruction. Time and experience is the greatest trainer. I have rescued 14 powerful canines. Each amazing in their own way and each taught me something different. I am in a place in life where the house is big, a big dog door and about 3/4 of a fenced in acre. Doggie paradise for sure. Your greatest asset is a calm, quiet affect. Most powerful weapon in my arsenal. Also, read the breed! Know your dog and all it's idiosyncrasies. Each one is unique to be sure but each breed has things bred so deep in their genetics that it is predictable and controllable with knowledge. My grandson (Autistic) and I have no family and are defiantly social deviants...in other words we prefer dogs to people! LOL! Big dogs! No ankle biters here, they are the most difficult I think...personally. I admire you and your love of the powerful breeds. Good luck and God bless! Oh I forgot to mention I have never, ever crated a dog. I know it is helpful to people but I just couldn't. I find they crate themselves with a "place" of choice. Wish I could share pics.

My cat has caused more damage by scratching on this one bench we have. 😂 We have 2 cats~the scratcher was born in a barn, he was taken from his mother too soon I think. He’s like a grumpy old man. Our other one is a runt I think from a litter of Bombays. I got her from the shelter when she was about 6 months old. I say Bombay because she fits the description to a T. She’s absolutely gorgeous but she’s very little. I have no clue how she could have ended up in a shelter except that the breeder couldn’t sell her. Their loss. She is the best, sweetest cat I’ve ever had. However, she’s lethal. 3 birds that I know of and one was a hummingbird. She’s fast. Oh and she kind of stalks when she walks. She may be little, but she be might. She thinks she’s a big black panther. 😂the only thing she is afraid of is our dog. We adopted a puppy about a year and a half ago. She’s a Sheprador. 1/2 German shepherd and 1/2 Labrador. She has all of the markings of a shepherd ~ except her ears are a lot smaller. We did not get them cropped. She stands them up on her own when she wants too. Sweetest dog. Bad guard dog ~ she wants to kiss everyone. We do have a crate for her in the corner of our kitchen. The door is never closed. When she does do something wrong, she goes in there by herself. She also puts herself to bed when she wants to. I wouldn’t take it away from her because she actually likes it. Except once in a while mr. Grumpy will go in there and sit in the middle of it with an attitude of “oh yeah? What are you gonna do about it ?” She comes to me and rats him out. 😂😂😂 They have a love/hate relationship lol

I have a husky/mal/sammy/wolf mix, a husky, a jr terrier/lab mix and a doberman puppy, and I live full time in an RV. I love the chaos. I'm lucky they're as behaved as they are. The most damage they've done is a rip on the couch, a torn up pillow case (courtesy of the puppy) and a few socks. The wolf mix actually hasn't torn up anything, but she did demolish a Playstation controller a few years ago, and she has an incredibly high prey drive (killed a full grown racoon when she was less than a year old...) They regularly get exercise, and that probably helps. Contrary to popular belief, you can own large/multiple dogs in a small house, as long as they get plenty of opportunities to just RUN, outdoors.

Lol when he was alive, my cat was bullying my dog ever since we got him as a puppy since he was slightly bigger.

ADDICT FLOOF
Kane turning into a wolfrus.
My German shepherds do this at the most inconvenient times.
Okay, I really do want to know how you discovered that Kane, uh...enjoys....tangerine oil...? What a luxury.

Real goober mentality

He looks like just a wolf with no dog in him. Gorgeous!
Wrastling is just something many dogs do. My brother has a golden and his son has one quite a bit larger. The larger almost always initiates the wrestling session and takes up a defensive stance on her back, while the smaller one attacks. They LOVE this game and will wear each other out with lots of snarling and gentle biting. : )

Gorgeous dogs, I see your couch got the special puppy treatment 😂
