Meet Officer Navarro, a first-generation U.S. citizen and a graduate of the 129th San Diego Regional Police Academy. Officer Navarro was one of 47 recruits to graduate from the 129th academy and was excited to be going “10-8” (in service)!
The six-month regional academy tests them mentally and physically while training them above and beyond the California Police Officer Standards and Training requirements.
Upon graduation, SDPD officers begin the Field Training Program which consists of four evaluated phases of field training that each must be passed before they are assigned to patrol divisions.
