Thanks for sharing this with us. I’m sorry you lost your wonderful, brave husband. It doesn’t feel like twenty years. I understand you not wanting to see your husband when his body was found. That is not how you wanted to remember him. You are a beautiful wonderful woman Miss Ann. ❤️

Thank you Ann for telling your story. I am grateful to all who told their stories, and to those preserving them. It’s like you said, a mosaic, the picture will never be complete, but it’s important to keep adding to it. Very sorry for all the losses that day and beyond. Best to you and your family!

What a beautiful soul Miss Anne, thank you for sharing your story about your courageous husband. I think you are pretty courageous too, having to raise your daughters and adjust to your new normal. I cannot believe it’s been 20 years, I was 12 years old.

My heart aches for you and all those families who lost loved ones on that horrific day. I was working in Atlanta and it was an absolutely beautiful there too. Perfect blue sky, no humidity truly a morning the Lord had made. We all remarked on it at 8am when we got to our desks. I left my desk to go get more coffee when another employee came through the front door saying a plane had hit the World Trade Center. This company would not pay for cable, so not one TV in this big office. I had a radio w/earphones under my desk. I got the earphones in, and the second plane hit. This awful company, made us sit in that office with 50 or so other employees till 5pm. Not a phone rang, not a person moved. I typed up a resignation letter, and 4:55, delivered it to the tiny Hilter in charge, left and never returned! Our country was under attack and at war. I have never ever forgotten the sacrifices of the men and women on that day, or for the next 9 months. I think of them, their precious children often. May their memories continue to be a blessing on all our lives.

Today we all know better that no employer can make us sit there and let them have that power over us. Those that died and sacrificed that day deserved our solemn remembrance. Work means nothing in that context.

Thank you for all you do..now and then Anne. I was in NYC when the beginnings I believe were starting to be shown...powerful as heck but not as much to me as seeing those 2 huge empty concrete boxes. I hope to get back there in the future and see all that there is to see.

Been to Ny thought i was going to live there did for a month in 1995. Went in 1990 as well was a dancer then in college they had musical theatre program . Saw so many shows saw the magic of New York. Even remember walking by a firehouse that garage was open . I was dressed in more California like clothing , somebody in the house whistled whit woo. I was walking by so fast though just kept going. I was in living in Oregon when the towers were hit , i used to sleep in , my friend Stephanie called and I thought everything was normal she asked dis you tuen on tv yet you need to . Well i was also raised in chicago and born in Ohio as was Stephanie So that side of the the country mattered us alot . We were surprised how people were just trying to act normal at first but it had already been 1 pm NY time and then by about that time in Oregon they catched on . I think people thought at first oh its a NY thing . It was definitely a country thing . My hubbys boss was upset workers weren’t calling on the phone anymore. He tried to be the example and got chewed out by person on the line. Ive watched stuff about it over and over. We flew over the memorial even once. These tribute museum is very special and i am learning as much as I can and want to come out to see it now in los angeles, but New York always has a special place in my heart. My friend Stephanie and I definitely grieved with you all . These individual stories really are enlightening to the fuller picture as humans individually and collectively. It is giving me hope as i feel hopeless in this Covid political world. The spirit and will of the people is seen through. I hope we still have that America to keep creating as we navigate this insane time.

Why? Why have I lost you I ask myself, and again I receive no reply you think I'd know by now my friend not to look for the reason why, but I find myself in that searching mode on a constant quest for the ultimate relief to learn why you died in this violent way, and decrease the affect of my grief People think I'm silly, to ask this for so * long and you'd think I'd know by now, even I can see they're not wrong, but I still find myself in that searching mode on a haunting quest for a bit of relief, to learn why you died in this terrible way and find some relief to my grief. We found his hand and some other things. But since even some people who lived in New York couldn't bring themselves to believe the worst, we stopped telling them. There were some dxmn insensitive people anyway. Like one guy said, after he heard another say to me, "Do you REALLY expect us to believe that?" The first guy replied "Well, who'd make that up?"

I am so very sorry for YOUR loss as well as Miss Anne and everyone who lost their lives that horrible day. I know these words are inadequate since no one can turn back time and bring these people back. But I just wanted you to know that I wish you peace and healing and that I will never forget. God bless you!

Humans created the gods, not the other way around. And it was THEIR faith that led THEM to do what they did. Religion is not the answer, it is the problem.
