Glad to see someone comment that tool failure is most commonly the result of tool abuse. That's been my experience as well. The true wearout from proper use is quite rare, especially among the high end tools such as Snap-On, S-K, Matco, MAC and Proto.

I have a hardly used bluepoint ratchet, I dont abuse it and the internals keep slipping, sticking and jamming, its been thoroughly cleaned and oiled yet always keeps doing it.

for a few year snapon didn't put the USA mark on their ratchets, they were still made in the us but they wanted to see if not having a "made in us" mark would affect their sales, it did affect sales so they put the us mark back on

I also own the Teng Tools ratchet. I like it a lot, but the plastic/rubber housing does wear a bit fast in my opinion. My 1/2 Stahlwille is my favourite, that thing is indestructible. And I don't use that thing like you should. Hitting it with hammers, pipe over the handle the works. Holds up very well. Its a tool after all.

Great video I never seen a snap on ratchet without the USA marking unless it was made in Canada.

I believe some parts are made in Asia as well but I am not 100% on that. thanks for the comment :)

Gerard Burke Proto used to be a franchise set up sold from vans in the late seventies early eighties, a bit like Snap on. They were US made tools of pretty good quality, now part of the Stanley tools group..

I don't believe so, unless you made up something yourself to take up the slack.

The Teng 72 teeth ratchets are nice. Not much more than the 44 teeth either.

Is teng pronounced thing? I'm Irish so it's not the accent.

Koken is made in Japan. It's quite expensive but the quality is comparable to snap on but slightly cheaper. Best socket sets I ever have.

@@henryairconcepts2999 I agree koken are just as good as snap on if not even better. I've seen the handle bend on one that had a 6 foot bar on. The bloke doing it was an idiot but still that ratchet would not break. I couldn't believe what I was seeing

@@joebelichio6974 older ones were 32 tooth I think, hard to break a 32 tooth ratchet. They reckon the square drive will shear well before the teeth on anything half decent quality

Snap-on won't be beaten. Others are still good brands but they all want to try and compare to snappy

Williams USA is superior

Very disappointed in Draper Expert. It woulda been disappointing if a Draper standard ratchet went sloppy like that coz they also do a economy line called Redline. Dunno bout you but if a well known British company guarantees their product I expect not to need to use that guarantee.I The British Army use Draper Expert tools. Expert is their premier line, its almost unforgivable they cant even get a ratchet right. God bless Brexit God bless the EU ... Facom, Gedore etc 😂😎
