This is Piastri’s best chance to grab a win this season. His gap to Lando in race trim is nullified and we have seen already that when fighting at the front in quali Oscar can upstage Lando. Knowing this will mean he’ll be feeling more pressure but I think he’s the type to rise to the occasion. Piastri maiden pole position and grand prix victory. We will be there.

I wouldn’t say “very unlikely”. Oscar was 2 hundredths slower than Lando in qualifying last year. That’s the toss of a coin. He could very easily out-qualify Lando.

For me Monaco is not about drivers racing each other on the track like any normal race, it's about the drivers competing against the track its self. Driver V Track , may the best man win.

The track itself is a banger, in qualy with these cars it’s a banger, in the race with these cars it’s a small clang.

it's boring in the sense that there seem to be fewer overtake, but with the usual crashes and penalties it's anything but boring

Interesting how everyone is seemingly placing all their McLaren hopes on Oscar this weekend. I haven't seen anyone predict a Lando pole or win.

This race will be like every other Monico, qualify will set the race and the race will be decided in the pits. The current cars are almost too large to be racing on this track. Passing is almost impossible on 99% of the track.

Give the drivers identical go-karts for the race. The existing race is pathetic. It cant really be called a race. Its a procession like a town parade. Go-karts would level the playing field, allow overtaking and reveal the best drivers on the grid. Bin the existing race, or cut the length in half to make time for the Karts. Keep qualifying of course - it's magical !

Tommo once again showing he has no idea what is a good livery. After the horrible redesigns he did this year, it really is not a surprise. Plus you are wrong about them only being allowed to change designs a certain amount. The rule that was brought in a few years ago was that the teams are allowed to run special liveries as long as the FIA and F1 give approval of the livery. It must be for a specific reason and no make it seem like they are a totally different team. Look at how different the Williams Gulf livery was to the main livery, and not just the colours.

I feel like I'm in the absolute minority in finding the McLaren livery absolutely heinous. It doesn't come across like a respectful tribute to me, it feels really tacky. Monaco is not a race anymore. The cars have outgrown the track. The only reason my opinion, that the race exists , is to pay back the Prince for all the millionaire drivers and F1 hierarchy living tax free in his country. Quali is thrilling. But it's not a "Race" anymore. And you can't mandate pit stops. By saying that says you know this is no Race. I do like a race with 2 or more stops. But not mandated.
