I believe they're usually described as having a "fairies" concept. Nonstop was their latest comeback and their first song to hit #1 on the charts and one of the highest-charting songs in 2020. Before its release, they competed in the show "Queendom" (Which was very good btw) Although Mamamoo won the show, Oh My Girl won the people's hearts and caused them to have a massive spike in popularity.

I am already a fan of them before queendom like from a casual listener since debut and fall hard with windy day song but queendom definitely is one of their best moments in their career. Still can't get over the destiny performance. who knows lovelyz song can be interpreted like that. I'm so proud of them 😭😭😭

MAMAMOO won Queendom, but OMG was the runner-up, in a competition with other groups like (G)Idle, AOA, Lovelyz, and Park Bom. I think OMG did extremely well, and the show definitely helped spike up their popularity afterward.

Yeah, fairytale 😁 They are so pretty like fairies~ They have Mimi as the main rapper (bias wrecker) aaaaand the one with pink hair at 12:38 is actually their main vocalist named Seunghee (my bias yay) And the girl at 14:09 with beautiful voice and face is Yooa, she has her debut solo last year with an unique song u must listen to her solo, Bon Voyage

If you dive deeper into Oh My Girl you've got to check out Windy Day, it's such a different sounding song than most of what you hear in Kpop. YooA also had a solo debut with Bon Voyage that's really great.

I would argue that Oh My Girl's most iconic songs are Closer and Windy Day

Their concept is that every song is a bop :)

Oh My Girl debuted in April 2015 with a total of 8 members (Hyojung, Mimi, Yooa, Jine, Seunghee, Jiho, Binnie and Arin) with the song "Cupid" later in 2017, one of the members left the group due to health problems, the girl (Jine) was beginning to suffer from an eating disorder, more specifically, anorexia, so she left the group and the entertainment industry to focus on her health. OMG's concept is that they really don't have a concept. They're seen as chameleons or elegant fairies. Very conceptual group with power vocals. I kind of view them as a theatrical group (like a group who really knows how to put on a show). Their sound varies but they consistently have a very "ethereal" and "fairy-like" sound/vibe about them.

how I can't believe you react to OMG. 2020 was their year last year, their popularity booms in korea and starts to gain recognition by international fans. It's good to see after 5 years they finally started to see their success

And if you consider bam as one of the title tracks. I'd say they're concept fairies because they rock any concept but still maintaining that hint of fresh and pretty girl group vibe that only omgeol can pull off. Have a nice day!

As soon as I saw this was your first reaction to OMG I knew you'd fall in love with them! The majority of their title tracks fall into one of two categories. The more cutesy pop style (like Bungee and Non Stop) or the more ballad style (like The 5th season). They excel at both. They also have a huge catalogue of quality b-sides which show off just how varied they can be. They've never really got the attention they deserve (at least not internationally) but grabbed a lot of people's attentions at the end of 2019 after appearing on Queendom. It's kind of funny you asking what their concept is as they are often referred to as the Concept Queens as they're always so varied but nail it everytime. The rapper is Mimi. Imo one of the most underrated female rappers in Kpop. It may be as OMG aren't a group known for their rap parts but I think this is die to Mimi's ability to make them blend into any song, even songs that you'd never expect to have a rap part. She certainly has a unique sound and style. Non Stop was definitely her era. She got more lines than any previous song and she looked stunning. My bias is YooA but Mimi was wrecking me hard during this comeback.

Like how all the other comments mentioned, oh my girl is known for their ethereal concept and have cute songs as weLl (but they have a song called Remember Me that kinda doesnt fall under any categoryy) I also suggest watching their performances at Queendom because they 👏slayed👏

Destiny is a really cute girly song originally sung by Lovelyz (which I also really like!), and their cover completely changed the song to a very sad, tragic type of song. It's more like remix tbh, and they also included traditional korean instruments and choreography.

Yay! I'm so happy you picked OH MY GIRL! They're a really great group that really deserves more love. They kind of have like 2 sides, the cutesy bright bubble gum pop like "Bungee" and then this elegant ethereal side like "The Fifth Season" they tend to flip between the two. They did actually have 8 members early on in their career but one member left due to health issues. Other good songs by them are "Secret Garden", "Liar Liar", "Closer", "Coloring Book". Yeiii finally... I Love this groups. Mimi is the repper, but my bias is Binnie. They have a very cute concepts but kind in artistic way... If you watch Closer you can understand their concept. I like so much their choreos.

My bias is their rapper too and She is Kim Mimi, also the main dancer along with Yooa, the face of the group and lead vocalist. All the members are showing different charms and that makes them all Miracles' bias wreckers.

Most Ppl would recommend Closer, Secret Garden, Remember Me, but literally all of their titles are BOPs even their b-side are as well (esp b-side on SSFWL album ie Crime Scene, Checkmate, Vouge). OMG is one of the GGs whose vocals I absolutely enjoy! I recommend listening to their bsides, specifically from their first full album (the fifth season). And I believe songs like Flower tea and Underwater love show off their vocals best. (Guerilla and Checkmate too)

Oh My Girl has generally 2 types of concepts, energtic, cheerful and upbeat songs like Cupid, Nonstop, Bungee Colouring book. Then they have their other, iconic concept which is the fantasy, fairy magic concept, songs like Closer, Windy Day, Secret Garden, SSFWL. They also have some which are a mix of both, like Liar Liar, Remember Me , etc. And the occasional deadly catchy ones like Dolphin and Banana Allergy Monkey All are bops, and with their perfect mix of talented vocalist , dancers and visual, I consider them one of the most talented and versatile group in Kpop.

Hoping we get a WJSN eventually! They're vocal perfection with such a fun magical vibe to them.

Definitely check out Guerilla if you want a strong vocal performance.

You should also check out their cover of Lovelyz's Destiny from Queendom. It's lovely, no pun intended. Also the one you thought was another rapper is Seunghee, if I'm not mistaken. She's a main vocalist. I think she and Hyojung are main vocalists but I'm not super familiar with all their roles. Maybe also check out Banana Allergy Monkey. It's absurdly cute and the story is pure art.

I love Oh My Girl, they have such a fairytale/magical vibe with their music. They have so many good songs, Closer, Windy day, Secret Garden and Liar Liar are really good.

I finished watching the video before commenting any further 'cuz I loved seeing you enjoying their music! NONSTOP got me into this group it was an atomic bomb last year and the mini album that was released with it got them at the top of the charts in Korea rivalring Blackpink and Twice, it's still my favourite song by them it just brings so much positive energy.

Oh My Girl caught me so off guard when I first heard them. Their whole appearance on Queendom really blew me away, they are so talented and actually capable of so many types of styles. Omgg they are also my babies 😍 They own the title of "concept fairies" in kpop because they literally are. You will enjoy reacting to them because they have so much talent and all of their song are bop. Also try reacting to their Queendom Performances because that was the beginning of their rise in korea. Queendom is a reality survival show in korea, Mamamoo and Gidle is also there.

The fifth season for L is Love hence the name. Because the song explains how after Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter, Love will come their way :)

If you film more reactions to them I would really recommend Closer, it was one of their first songs but also one of the least generic and most memorable I think? Like I don't think they're bad but they definitely blend in with a lot of other girl groups most of the time (for me personally). I would say it's most similar to SSFWL.

@@marthamelchers I don't really know anything in depth about the group so admittedly my impression of them is probably relatively shallow but I didn't mean to insult them I just haven't noticed any common thread in their music that makes their songs easy to immediately identify as theirs. I don't think that the members themselves lack talent or personality I just feel like mostly their music is designed to be easy for anyone to listen to. But yeah that's just my impression of the group based on what I have heard, I'm not saying it is objectively true.

Two groups I'd recommend are WJSN and Cherry Bullet! WJSN is a large group with 13 members (only 10 members are currently promoting because 3 other members are in China doing other work) and have a really talented vocalists, especially Yeonjung, Soobin, and Dawon. Cherry Bullet is a now 7 member group (they debuted with 10 members and 3 left at the end of 2019) and also have very good vocalists, especially Bora and Haeyoon. For WJSN I'd recommend their song "Secret" and for Cherry Bullet I'd recommend "Love So Sweet."

Thank you 🙏 And to add to the list of groups you may like: Gugudan - although they recently disbanded :( this 9 / 8 member girl group had some good harmonies. Vromance- a 4 member male vocal group from rbw (the same company as Mamamoo). These guys are older, late 20s - early 30s, and were/are vocal trainers.

After waking up & completing to charge my phone I usually turn on the TV & watch youtube then going to your channel to watch your recently upload vids & when I saw this on the recent uploads IM SO THRILLED!!!! WAAAHHH FINALLY 'OH MY GIRL'!!! They were the grp i listened on my subtle comeback in kpop after my 2nd gen era. I am a listener of my fave 2nd gen girl grps & lie lowed after graduating. Then my new officemate came & she's a big fan of kpop on generations now & recommended Oh My Girl to me coz they're super talented, great & their songs are easy to listen to (I said my preference to her coz I'm now on the indie genre). She let me to listen to Closer, Cupid, Windy Day and a lot more. Then I loved it! 'Cupid' is my ringtone :) Listening to their albums & love the vibe of 'Twilight' which I even loved them more bec of their Queendom perf! Their japanese songs are gold too

Oh my Girl's concept is one I really love. I think it's kind of considered a "fantasy/fairy tale" concept, and I think it's more prevalent in their older songs honestly, but I still notice aspects of it in all of their recent releases (which it's been almost 10 months since their last group release 😢). I think out of the ones you've watched, the second song shows it the most. Other songs they have with that concept really prevalent is "Secret Garden" (this song is so pretty, u should check it out!), "Closer" (this song too, omg it's so good), and maybe "Windy Day" too. Also if I would recommend a song it'd definitely be "Remember Me" ! It is such an underrated track, and it has a really unique song structure and is just really good overall and I recommend it a ton! MY BABIESSS1!!!! i've been with them since debut 😭!!!!!!!!!!! 💗 i must now INSIST you watch Twilight, either the queendom performance or the concert one what matter is THAT SONG SLAPS like on a soshi level and i would NOT throw such a compliment lightly!!! their range is indeed ENORMOUS. i will expose myself through the peak stan behaviour of info dumping about everything they've ever done in their diverse career: debut song is called CUPID, and it has elements of marching band so it's a dose of energy with cuteness and catchiness to boot, if that happens to be your thing i'd argue a follow up of similar vibe is COLORING BOOK; then we have CLOSER which is legendary among magical girl concepts, the beginning of their fairy excellence you have witnessed through SSWL which is imo a more energetic successor to SECRET GARDEN in its elegance as well as a hybrid successor of REMEMBER ME which is closer in concept to nonstop by being energetic yet dreamy and cute as they do so well; Bungee was the latest in a collection of summer bops so its satisfactory for that but does have a pretty tough bar to live up to since hard-hitting cuteness masterpiece LIAR LIAR and whimsical yet hype owner of my soul WINDY DAY are so strong, their biggest hit in korea before nonstop is called AING and its a remake of an older song in a reggae cute area, though to be clear how well nonstop did (and it did very very well bless the heavens) it was surpassed by b-side crowd favourite DOLPHIN that is cute through and through but in a chill way, they are more than capable of taking cute to an obnoxious level as shown in their sub-unit song BANANA ALLERGY MONKEY, so i do advice caution nearing those, its a level beyond the Gee tolerance test and into Gee supremacist territory kind of material :9 and as usual (though by now i'm sure i've said it enough that its lost impact) Do Not Get Me Started On The Bsides.

OMG usually go back and forth between 2 concepts- the fairy/ethereal concept and the cute/fun concept. So if you liked SSFWL, you'll definitely love Secret Garden, Closer and Windy Day. For Nonstop enthusiasts, songs like Liar Liar, Cupid, Coloring Book are amazing. There's also the greatest Kpop song to ever release- Banana Allergy Monkey by their subunit Oh My Girl Banhana. Anyway OMG have one of the best discographies going today, and in terms of skills- they have no weaknesses. Stacked in vocals, dance, visuals and with one of the best gg rappers in Mimi. Definitely an amazing group to stan and get into

Oh my girl is that group that never fails to make me smile. They just make you feel good. There’s a korean word I always hear thrown around when describing omg’s concept I guess it’d be translated as dreamy/fantastical?

Tje Korean title for Nonstop translates to "my heart flutters" and the song is about developing feelings for one of your friends. The bear represents their feelings towards the friend as they continue to grow until it's too big to ignore.

They have a bunch of good songs. I really like Remember. And their b-side "Dolphin" became a hit after IU covered it on her youtube show

I was talking about how Sir Austin would likely enjoy Queendom (minus annoying edits that make the episodes unnecessaroly long), since there's at least 3 groups participating that Sir Austin appears to like which happen to be the 3 you mentioned.... Mamamoo, OMG, and G-Idle. The only one Sir Austin hasn't reacted to is Lovelyz. And since Sir Austin is a vocal coach the interest in watching the show may be more about vocal ability, agility, personal flare, performance, etc... than it is about hype or popularity.

the one you liked us Mimi the main rapper. they only have one rapper but Seunghee (lead vocalist) had a rap line in Nonstop. Nonstop was definitely one of my fav summer songs of 2020! I started to get into Oh my girl last year and I really enjoy their music! Yooa , one of the members of Oh my girl also released a solo song called "Bon Voyage" which I can highly recommend you! ^^ Idk if you know that Oh my girl is under a Entertainment called WM , but I you should check out some more groups of WM ent. because I think they have a really sepcial and unique sound e.g. other boygroups which are also under WM are B1A4 and ONF. As a huge ONF, can recommend you to check them out (Side info: ONF is also quite close to Oneus :D)

Oh My Girl's concept I would say is kind of colorful/ethereal, they are known in Korea as the 'concept fairies'. Jiho and Binnie are the 97 line and both suprisingly talented at everything and have the 'cool' girl crush vibe imo. Arin is the adorable maknae everyone loves and is becoming very popular recently.

They normally focus on two themes which consisted of a mixed concepts like: fairytale/ethereal (closer, windy day, secret garden and ssfwl is the prime examples of this) or cute/quirky(cupid, liar liar, coloring book, bungee, banana allergy monkey, and nonstop). But overall, they are called the concept queens where they've already showcased on a show called Queendom.

If you liked SSFWL a lot, then I’d recommend checking out Closer, Secret Garden, or Windy Day. The first two are more similar, but OMG does that sort of super ethereal elegant concept REALLY well.

They killed on Queendom. Also the solo work from one of the members: YooA, it's amazing (The songs are Abracadabra and Bon Voyage)

Closer is my favourite song from OMG, and its choreography is also interesting, showing various shape of star sign, it is also a beautiful song like “SSFWL”.

They got a lot of praise last year for their Nonstop release. Which followed their impressive performance on Queendom. Dolphin is another track on the same album that's just as good - also the most streamed on Spotify. Like many others I recommend Closer, Liar Liar and Secret Garden

Oh My Girl only has BOPs. My personal favorite being Closer (I’m still salty that wasn’t their first win).

I love Oh My Girl! I've liked them since they debuted. They have some really good singles. Also you need to watch their performances on Queendom. They slayed!

Austin, you're almost getting to know all the girls in the group of friends called Egg Yolk, it is composed of Seulgi, Moonbyul, Hyojung (Oh My Girl) and we just need to hear Naeun (April). From April I recommend the songs April Story, Oh My Mistake and Lalalilala 💕💕

GET TO KNOW OH MY GIRL So as someone said the girl that caught your attention is Mimi and she is one of the best female rappers in Kpop in my opinion, really cool and easy going with a way of speaking that is really sweet honestly. She is a main dancer in the group too and she specializes in boy group covers, her popping, isolation and stuff is really on point. Honestly I still think of Oh My Girl as a "cute type" group but they absolutely have the ability to throw some curve balls and keep their image fresh. I should just mention the "The Fifth Season" album that has some really diverse tracks like "Crime Scene", "Vogue" (yes, like Madonna's Vogue) and "Checkmate" but I'll just say like others did that they did great on Queendom competing with the likes of Mamamoo and (G)i-dle. The group originally had 8 members but JinE had to retire due to continue health issues and was active before any of the videos you've reacted to were released. Members and roles: *Hyojung. Leader and main vocal (1:11, 7:02, 12:04). She is the "vitamin" of the group, always smiling. She is responsible for the last 2 aegyo songs idols have to sing on Weekly Idol; *Mimi. Main dancer and main rapper (2:18, 6:18, 11:49). She writes her own lyrics, she's one of the best female rappers active in Kpop and is a great dancer too, especially when it comes to boy group cover dances. She hated dressing in pink when she debuted and still kind of does but came to terms with it; *YooA. Main dancer, lead vocal and face of the group (1:36, 6:16, 11:20). My bias, she has debuted solo last year with one of the most bigger-than-life-feels songs ever (the music video is just beautiful) and to me she's absolutely a top 5 female dancer. To be honest she's a true lead vocal too, the girl can sing for sure, she is one of the so called ACEs in Kpop; *Seunghee. Main vocal (1:43, 6:31, 11:52). She is the jokester of the group, great in variety shows (although she also got in trouble taking it too far); *Jiho. Lead vocal, lead dancer and visual (1:33, 6:35, 11:14). I don't know much about her at the moment, I need more infos; *Binnie. Vocalist (1:21, 6:04, 12:00). Shy, very athletic and EATS A LOT (relatively to an idol's standard, said by the members); *Arin. Lead dancer, maknae (1:25, 6:43, 12:15). She is really famous in Korea and gets a lot of advertisements deal because she's considered to have a very beautiful face (never seen an unattractive idol in my entire life...), babied by all the members and natural aegyo for days.

@@lolan40 I'm referring to the Shindong Gayo incident where she posed as the stereotypical version of a Mexican and got a lot of flak about it also because the company handled the "redemption campaign" poorly. Personally I feel like it was blown out of proportion because of a series of factor that make kpop idol to not be the most socially aware people on the planet so "growing pains" are to be expected. 🤷🏻 There's also the "Norazo incident" which is more of the same but I'd say the song itself (Curry) is far more problematic.

Jiho is like the most 'frank' member, I wouldn't call her savage but usually she's the one that speaks well the most and OMG members call her the 'top of the omg food chain' because of that lol (even though she's the 3rd youngest). Jiho also often gets called handsome, King (by Arin herself), and a tiger by fans. And Kfans often call her the 'cold beauty' of omg while Arin is the 'warm beauty' (that's why they're often paired together in photoshoots). She's also the most fluent in Japanese in OMG.

Ahhhh finally reacting to my bias group ❤️ Oh my girl are mostly known for the cuter concepts, but they can do any concept tbh. You like the rapper Mimi she’s awesome! My bias is the maknae Arin 🥰 They are all visuals i would say, but Yooa is the center of focus, great singer and amazing dancer! All the girls are great singers and i can’t wait for you to get even more hooked on these girls ❤️ They deserve all the love.

You'll definitely love their other songs too! I recommend 'remember me', liar liar, coloring book and windy day! But honestly, sooo many good songs!

Omggg if you love mimi’s rap YOU HAVE TO WATCH this rap mix of ohmygirl songs video. Just search mdromeda kpop mimi. She also covered gd’s who you in the video & it’s so good I swear!! Also ohmygirl is also known for having top tier bsides!! If you’re interested in them I highly recommend you to watch their performances in queendom, one of them being guerilla. Guerilla is just soo good!! You have to check out all of their titles and listen to their bsides. You will not be dissapointed!!

You NEED to listen to Secret Garden, it was the first song I heard by them and I was sold. The choreo is amazing, I'd watch the live stage honestly.

Finally OMG!! They're one of the most well-balance group out there with solid discography.
