Make your videos the way you want. We enjoy seeing you bringing the little house back. Never apologize for what you do enjoy your days your way. We will watch if interested, don’t try to please everyone. Those people who don’t enjoy should go buy their house and do the videos themself. Thanks enjoyed your week

Hello from "The garden state" USA. Your really are a miracle worker!! I love your videos please don't stop posting on KZread ❤
I really love watching this building change. It’s such a different construction method to anything I’ve seen.
You have a very good sense of balancing work and fun.
Never apologize for enjoying your life! Every step of your journey is interesting otherwise people wouldn’t subscribe. So don’t downplay your videos and have fun!! Greetings from Vancouver Canada

I enjoy your videos, no matter if it is short or long. I love seeing old houses being transformed. For me, that is really interesting, (especially) because you use the materials that have been used for centuries. By the way... hello from the Bay Area.
I love that you share the events and country with your fans. Don't stop, live your life your way. Home is looking loved. Thanks.
I love that you share what is happening in the community around you with events ! am loving seeing this little house turn into a home and am learning about different countries and methods of reconstruction! from your kiwi in aussie follower
Enjoy watching don’t apologize
Live your best life sir, look forward to your video whenever 😂 ❤ from 🇮🇪

I am liking the outcome of that wall!
Have some fun. See you next time.
Love how you're experimenting with the old ways. Glad you're taking time to have fun. Stay safe.
Great video. It’s lovely to learn how they built the house in the past. How resourceful!!
I wondered how the courtyard garden survived. Did a neighbour water plants. The natural off white wall looks great. Well done! Enjoy your Algarve break and take lots of sunscreen!

It did so-so, it was a pretty wet winter so extra watering was necessary but the snails went crazy and ate a lot, plus what I tried to start after I got back
Thank you for your update 👍🥰
Nice result - tedium paying off well! Enjoy your Algarve trip. It would be a nice surprise, were the trip, to collab with the blonde guy from Real Algarve Living 🤗 Thanks for the heads up; we'll hang around till the next update. After all, you've coached us well in that department 😁

I’m looking for something similar to what you have found. I love watching the little steps, they’re educational to us all. Thank you for sharing.
Love that you are making progress o the house, & also love that you are spending out and about with friends & enjoying the wonderful country that you have moved to.
Greetings from upstate New York. ❤
Excellent! The first coat is a 'skim' done to level and seal (encapsulate) the coarse materials (like the first layer of icing on a cake) so the next coat is more refined. Most homesteaders lay on way to thick a plaster. My only suggestion is when you have an area completed that you can draw your steel finishing trowel across the surface. Spray the skim coat lightly and use the trowel in large upward sweeping motions to finish. When you are using a broad knife, you can pull the blade in any direction that suits you. Don't feel restricted to up only. Last - raise your bucket off the floor to ~waist height. Doing deep knee bends for an extended period is taxing! :) Super job!

We love seeing steps in the process!! 😊
live your life! Love your friends! Always laugh! See you soon.
❤❤
I like seeing what you go to as well as what you are doing with the house. Thanks
On any future walls I would suggest just thinning out like you ended up doing and getting a long nap paint roller and tray to apply it. Even doing 2 or 3 coats would be faster and smoother then you can do with the trowels.

Thanks, I think anything would be better than doing all that again

Not all necessary things to do are fun like working on a home but worth it by far in the end. Great job and Woo Pig Sooey !!!... Enjoy the coming holiday as well.

@@bethloomis8961 you're welcome 😊 it's the biggest party in Porto, and one of the biggest in Portugal.
Love watching your progress! I am a bit concerned about the manner in which you repaired the ceiling beams two videos back. My understanding is that once cut, a beam loses its integrity and won't provide reliable weight/structural support. I think the spot where you attached the old beam attaches to the new beam is going to be very weak and unlikely to withstand much weight, pressure, etc. It probably would have been best to replace the beams entirely, but at a minimum, you should consider sistering them.
@My15KHouse

Very true, I forgot to mention in that video that its just a "long term temporary" solution since I will probably raise the ceiling to match the kitchen or add an upstairs and replace the beams at that time. For the time being theres no weight or structure to support besides the thin ceiling boards. The beams supported themselves without being connected on one end so its mainly to keep them and the ceiling level for now.
I was wondering, do you have drought over there? I know in some areas of the peninsula it is very dry. We just started the water restrictions where I live. Your wall is looking good!
@My15KHouse

No, thankfully. The south is very dry and I think has water restrictions but here there is plenty of water and in the green part of the country
Would a rubber spatular be better more flexible to get the plaster into the nooks & crannies ? Like something that is used for smoothing out wallpaper when hanging ?
@My15KHouse
12 күн бұрын
I never thought of something like that, seems like it should work as long as the rubber is stiff enough
Sorry about Portugal's team😢.
Yeah, if someone told me 30 years ago I would watch a guy scraping mud on a wall and paint it white on a computer. I would have called a Doctor for him. Now I think i need one.
I was thinking use a brush to get it on the wall. Can smooth after.
@My15KHouse
26 күн бұрын
Thats what I thought too, but it just clumped up in the bristles and was hard to get it where I wanted it, so ended up being easier with the spatulas
Can you Add more light in the nook for a window
@My15KHouse
9 күн бұрын
That was a thought, some LED strips would be pretty easy to add with maybe a block of glass or something. But still not totally sure what I'll do with it.
I would have put the bucket on a stool so you don't have to bend down so much.
@My15KHouse
12 күн бұрын
Somone else said that too and it didnt even cross my mind to do that lol
Did you end up trying to apply it with a brush?
@My15KHouse
27 күн бұрын
Yes, but very quickly realized I didnt like that. It just made a big block in the bristles that wasnt conducive to filling in the holes
I would rather look at less of the work you are doing on the wall and more on things that are finished or ideas you have of what you would finally want to do. The same wall for half an hour is a bit boring... Try to learn from other bloggers who are giving more variety in their logs...
