My main season has started with the arrival of my 5C winter tulips! Yay!
In this video, I talk about what I do upon receiving my wholesale bulbs (and what you should do). I go through what I look for, tolerance levels for bad bulbs, and what to do if you get bad bulbs. I also talk about cooling info 101.

Haha yes! Though realistically it will be about 7k since I’m selling some bulbs 🙂
Can't wait to see the forced tulips! My yarrow still hasn't germinated yet 😭

How long ago did you start them? When is your first frost?

@@ElderandOakFarm around the beginning of October. I'm in z9a. We usually get our first frost sometime in late December -- or never. We may get a hard freeze for a few days in mid to late Feb -- but these are rare.

Nooo! Still no germination? I had mine germinate in about 4 days. Did you provide them a humidity dome?

@@bareflowerfarm oh, girl... I only direct seed. I'll probably just buy more and cast them about again. Everything else is up and growing well.

Do you only order 5c bulbs? Have you tried to get regular ones and chill them in a cooler/fridge before you plant them?

I order the majority of my bulbs 5c. I have chilled them myself- it’s risky and I would say I lost about 35% trying to chill on my own
When would you start forcing tulips for valentines day
