I see comments all the time saying how much time they have on the game and how they still struggle. I've got like seven hours into mx bikes. You changed my entire perspective on the game, I was hauling ass and falling. Now I can almost confidently go through the easy maps. I'm still struggling with how to lean on front and back but other than that I think I got most of it down. Thank you a lot for opening a bigger world full of my opportunities for me and lots of others.

While you're working with a physics engine, sometimes, to have them working correctly doing one thing causes them to act weird doing other things. I'd say having the whip mechanic and leaning attached to steering is what makes the bike act the way it does while inputting steering at slow speeds. They'll probably work that out over the course of development.

30 hours in, tons of research with youtube and forums, this improved my riding immediately. Best video out there that doesn't get to involved and actually explains riding. I struggled with leaning forward/back bc my IRL riding instinct would be to lean forward with my legging sitting on the gas stank when cornering. I guess this games physics go off of the rear tire for traction so it all makes sense now.

how im get the combing leaning to normal?

I just tried the demo. I'm a sim racer so I turned off all the assists. But I couldn't figure it out. Can I do any of this with the demo? I couldnt get the steering. I had lean with the Right stick though, but it felt inverted. Idk maybe I'll try and see if I can edit the config file. But wasnt sure about adding different tracks and such.

i downloaded the oem bikes but when i try to go to track it closes the game so i sadly delete the mod and now i can go to track

Personally ride with lean all on my right stick and my steering only on my left. I've ridden agaisnt lynds and can run similar lap times to his on netherlands and farm 14. I only have 360 hours but I've found having lean on only the right stick and not combining them is beneficial as sometimes you don't need to counter lean.

Hey, can you copy and paste the original lean controls here for me? I watched this video months ago when I first downloaded MX Bikes and blindly followed his advice and changed those controls up and am realizing 50 hours later how crucial it is to NOT do that lol. SO if you could copy what the original ones are and paste them here, that would be a life saver bro

@@daltonturner3113 crucial not to do that? It's just preference man. Play the game how you want too. But you can delete the controls.txt file and the game will make a brand new one. You just make to map your controls again

Well if u play with an controller then dont full throttle while changin from neutral to 1 cause it makes sense that the fw is flying up, or try to lean forward, might help aswell

Lean back fully and don't get too throttle happy as long as you have the right amount of momentum out of the corner and you come out the corner straight you don't have to be fully on the gas just keep the throttle to where there's a little wiggle room left and be smooth try to hold it there and then you'll have that little bit of throttle left to give if you need it. In fact you can clear big jumps a little easier not being fully on throttle cause you get better traction when there's that little bit of wiggle room before you're fully pinned. You'll just have to play around and get a feel for how much throttle is actually necessary

Good tips although I'd refrain from combining the lean to one stick as sometimes you need to lean different ways depending on the corner. I sometimes motogp lean in sx berms or flat corners that don't have too much rear grip. This game is all about setting yourself up for the corner just like how you're supposed to ride irl so some irl tips work for the game too :)

@@MotoCodes I know a lot of pros do it and each person is different. Is it a mx sim thing to put them on 1 stick? I was putting time into mva reflex before I got mxb so using 2 sticks was more comfortable for me :)

@@flowersthewizard9336 nah its not a thing in mx sim to put it on 1 stick for movement it makes it easy fro new players. but mx sim only has forward and backwards movement and to lean forwards in a corner and lean the whole way for a quick hairpin on a flat track you wont get the full range of movement. if youve played the game before you would somewhat understand it. having 1 stick for movement is easier for newer players but having seperate sticks for leaning and steering is way superior

Use the 90 front tire with the tire mod. 12.3 psi. But you can just reset it in the menu

Hit caps lock and go into the settings you want to change and there's an option for map size and icons etc

My adhd brain decided to commit to separate lean and steer sticks. Thought process was that binding it one stick will always leave my worrying if my guy is actually leaning or not

I switched the lean to one stick but after my guy is twiching and the yellow bar it twiching.. any one know why?

cant really expect to be good from the get go but my only and biggest issue with the game is that i cant controll my bike in the air, the slightest touch the any of the analog stick will result in my rider just going ham and geting yeeted up to god, when i slightly hit the throttle after a crash my just does a wheelie and flips me off, its so annoying and i honestly dont know how people ride at all

Sounds like your controls are messed up. Delete controls.txt and re do your controls and set it up

Rather than one stick i made my right stick opposite. Basically i turn both sticks the same direction, the riding lean is opposite, left is lean right

First thing I'd do is change your pants, no one likes pissy pants

I just have a couple of hours in that game, big noob here. For some reason when I copy pasted those lines inside the control txt, now my lean doesnt work anymore, the bike wont steer and the inputs dont show on the input previewer inside the settings in game. I checked multiples times if I did something wrong with the copy paste but no. I also re placed the original control txt in the files and the steering/leaning works again. (Note that in my original control.txt file on the first line I am missing the "C_" before axis, if that helps) Im using a ps4 controller. With the original control settings the controller shows as DS4 Stick, but when using your leaning control settings it reads it as CO axis 1. Any idea what is happening here?

probably because those are not ps4 controller values. try setting the left stick to leaning in game, save it, then copy those values over to ctrl_lrlean and ctrl_lean. im not sure if this works tho, give it a try (although it is objectively better if you learn the game w 2 sticks)
