Update: Sorry there's no fix in the video. I only uploaded the video to post on applianceblog.com in hopes of getting help with a fix. I linked the forum post in the video description when I uploaded it. I also just posted an almost 2 year update on the forum post. Summary: Think it was the tub seal squeaking against the gearcase shaft. You can't purchase the tub seal. It's included in a replacement gearcase ($224 today). That was half the cost of the washer. I didn't do that. I bought some $5 silicone grease from Home Depot and greased the tub seal the best I could. Squeaking didn't change initially. I think it's mostly gone away over time? I don't notice it anymore. More details in the forum post. I have the same washer. Today I started getting a squealing noise while the drum is spinning at full speed. It would squeal for a few seconds, then stop, and kept going like that until the washer was done.

Same, but mine does a little bit higher pitched squeal/squeak. What is it? How to fix? Anyone, anyone? Bueller?

same here on front load washing ecobubble WW70J5446FX/LE. on low spin sound becomes almost constant like gum/plastic rubbing but when it speeds up sound disappears , later when it stops and starts to spin slowly the sound is gone , until some time of slow spinning it slowly gets stronger .

I also have this problem. It is a VERY loud rubbing sound when the drum spins down.

I had a metallic grinding rattle when draining and found a bearing had fallen out and was stuck in the drain tube area. Fixed it, now have this squeak problem when the drum changes direction during the cycle. I hate these washers.

I heard something about a bolt being loose in one of the pulley's under the washer. I guess you can just tighten it up and go on. Don't hold me to this but I'm going to attempt to look under my bravo xl top load and see if I can fix the squeak

That’s on many washers. My brand new Maytag did that in 2020 from Lowe’s . The nut comes loose on main large pulley. The pully drops down with belt and rubs this large plastic cover. When tech came and lifted my washer the belt n pulleys all fell on the floor out from under the washer. He put lock tight on the threads and tightened nut and it didn’t come loose again. But here we are 2023 same washer and on high speed spin we have a high pitch dog whistle the entire spin. Then at the end of the spin a loud metal screeching noise like a seized bearing. I’m scouring KZread for fix. Maytag say ten year warranty on drive and tub but who knows if that noise is any of that. You have to pay a tech 90-100 dollars to diagnose the problem then they can tell you if it’s a part under warranty. Hoping I find a vid soon…

Its probably just the belt. Its rubbing the drive pulley. Over time it gets loose and stretched out, now shes ready to settle down. 😂
