It’s ironic that you mentioned this because this type of late 90’s early 2000’s playing seems to be coming back in the mainstream because this is how we played back then and it’s refreshing and a absolute joy for me to see the millennial generation perform playing this style.

As nice as the Kronos, Nord, Fantom 2019, etc are, the gear from the 1st decade of the 2000s & earlier will still get you there!!! There is no need to rush and sell that gear to get the new stuff...but get it if you want though...it won’t make you a better musician though. That part has to be you and the work you put in!

Get a recorder, close your eyes, lay your hands on the keys and play a random chord, full chords both hands, play the chord, listen to the chord, open your eyes and observe the chord, write down the notes of the chord, memorize it, apply it. Rinse and repeat
