She never told him she loved him , but she did and deeply, the way she looked at him , the way she missed him , the hardship she has been through just to save him, she put her life in risk more than once for him, but he never knew or at least seaked comfort in `` I love too `` from her more than anything else in the world . And the reason why she didn't confess her feeling was because she felt that it was the only thing left for her. She was his , everything was his , but somehow she needed to keep her feeling to herself so that she feels less lost and more like "herself" , she owns at least one thing and it was hers and only hers. When she asked him to pass through her in the next life was the biggest proof of her love , because she knew she simply can't help but falling in love with him everytime . One of my best kdramas ever 👏👏👏👏

While watching it , it hurt me so much when she never said it , I feel hurt to San . But it took me 2 days to realise that action speaks louder than words. And thru all the year they together, all the hardships they get thru , that’s LOVE . I will never get over this masterpiece.

I've just finished watching The red sleeve cuff. Gosh even typing the drama's name now makes me want to burst into tears. Deok Im had a very special way of loving San. To her, actions was always bigger than words. She really did everything for San's sake even what she hated most - becoming a concubine. Nevertheless, her sleeve cuffs were red, therfore she always carried loneliness and insecurities. San loved her but he was a king. High position comes with big responsibility, he couldn't even have enough time to overcome the pain of a father losing his son bc the pandemic forced him to stand up high and help his people and lead the country first. He was never be her own. Just her own. Pains come after pains. It's obvious they loved each other, but then their class and situation always tormented them. Even when Deok Im became San's official wife, she still had that soul of a maid, so every moment of happiness came with uneasiness and worries. It's hurt just by thinking of the red color on her sleeve cuffs and his imperial mantle. No women in the palace can be truly happy. "Your Highness, you still don't know? If I didn't love you, I would have gone to any lengths to leave you. However, in the end I stayed by your side. That was my choice". But then she still left him. 14 years being alone on the throne after that, San tried to be strong and completed his responsibility as a king. Just that in his last dream, there was only him with his only love and this time, finally he chose to cherish her more than anything. Finally, their love wouldn't be full of loneliness with the red color on her sleeve cuffs and his imperial mantle.

I couldn't fall asleep last night after watching this drama. Her final words, the pain on his eyes, the short time they spent together, his life without her... It's was all just to sad for me. I was trying to sleep but I kept on thinking about this.

there is no villian in this drama. they were just trapped in palace without any free will. Lee San's acting were perfect, the way he potrays every emotions tore me into pieces. I repeated this drama for the third time already as their chemistry was so great although i had to go through another pain watching the ending. i knew this drama will recieve more awards because they deserve one!!!

죽은 덕임이를 생각하며 유품을 보다 어린생각시때 입었던 옷을보며 너무작다. 이리도 작은 사람이었던가!이런 너를 내가 연모하였다고 옷을부여잡고 우는 장면에선 저도 감정이입되서 엉엉 울었네요.ㅠㅠ 지금도 너무 슬프네요.

It's going to take me a long time to recover from this drama. First of all, it was so well written, I really understood the cost of the kingdom and all it's inhabitants, it was not romanticized. The relationship for the two was epic and heartbreaking. The two leads gave powerhouse performances, just incredible. This is my favorite historical kdrama, period

This is one of the most beautiful drama I have seen. It still lingers after 2 years and I still haven't been able to rewatch it as it is still so vivid in my mind. The quality of this drama is outstanding. The acting is mesmerising from all the cast, the storytelling is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time, the cinematography is so beautiful that I could have taken a screenshot of almost every scene and framed it and put on my wall. This song portrays the emotion so nicely and brings me back to the way I felt while watching this amazing drama.

산덕임이 환생해서 어디에 있든 평생 행복하길 바랄게... 그 때 그 시절 서로의 신분으로 인해 사랑에 슬퍼하고 상처받지 말고, 혹시 아직 옷소매만 스치는 인연이였다면 이제는 꼭 평범한 남녀 둘로 만나서 행복하게 오래오래 백년해로 하면서 잘 살았으면 좋겠어... 2021년에도 2022년의 첫 날에도 둘째 날까지도 정말 많이 사랑했고 앞으로도 사랑할 이산 그리고 성덕임.

Just finished watching this drama and to be honest, still collecting my thoughts on what to say about this. Complicated to put it into words, but what I dared to say.. it’s a beautiful yet heartbreaking love story, to believe that this love story really happened back then and was recorded in history, adding pain in my heart. In my pov, love Duk Im has for Yi San was a greater love and the length she will go through just to protect Yi San in any circumstances, is what makes this story worth watching. Of course, there’s loopholes here and there, and I believed every drama has its flaws. Still, this drama worthy to watch for its uniqueness and the portrayal of historical event. I’m a fan of LSY, and her role in Doctor John amazed me. When she started crying, I cried along with her. The way she expressed every emotions, leave me in awe. Plus, with a good performance from Junho, and the chemistry they have, this drama truly live to its reputation. “Your Highness is dear, but myself is dearer. So I will never draw myself into pain. If I cannot have it all myself, I would rather not have it at all.” This line really crushed my heart. She so scared of losing herself if she accepted to become his woman. She knows she can’t have him all by herself since he is a king of the nation. Yet, every actions she did, shows so much about how much she loved Yi San, no words needed to confirm this. Though, I can interpret differently to what Duk Im said during her deathbed, that she wants Yi San to pretend not to know her and just passed by in their next life, I would stick to what she said, and respect her stand that she wishes to live her life the way she wants. In my pov, she really wanna be free, from the pain and loneliness of the palace, she just want to be free like she used to when she’s a court maid, enjoying her life with her friends. She loved Yi San and she did and endure everything for him, and that’s more than enough.

Can you imagine if their next life is this modern life? How it would be?

Already two weeks..I cannot move on with Red Sleeve. Its tooooo sad, emotional and everything. No words to describe how this drama touch my heart. I am not this type of person. I have watched so many Kdrama. I dont know why this is so touching. Maybe the actors in this drama. Everybody from King, Queen, San, Deok Im, all the maids, guard, deok ro, potray the emotion so good. I actually observed each of them, their face, dress, surrounding, even the lightings, song. It is so real. Even the dog when San and Deok Im play it looks so innocent. Haahaha. My level of observation is so deep. Actually I like to observe peoples face. There are moments their faces look like acting but most of the time its very real. LSY face to show emotions, sad, angry, fear, happy look so real. Junho also managed to show arrogant, proud king. But his face also successfully showed he is happy, angry, in love. When he cried when he see LSY dress, I cry like crazy...Hahaha..RS the best drama I have ever.seen. Congratulations to the Director, script writer, cameraman, dress maker, whoever involved in this drama. You are great. You set the standard for Korean Drama. Its very worth to watch. ( Actually I dont like historical drama and I am difficult fan- not easy to satisfied). Congratulations again.

Cause it was the only thing which She has for herself. when everything belongs to yi san as king but her actions say louder than word. when the drama ends. i feel sorry for duk im.

Watched this 5 times full 17 episodes. Everytime, I sit and weep through. I think I've got addicted to red sleeve. Especially with this song, the emotions just burst forth uncontrollably. I never knew that a song can make you feel sad and long for someone, until I heard Lee Sun Hee "I'll leave you". The pain of that song made me cry, honestly. It adds up emotion to the drama, which is very beautiful. Truly, one of the best KDrama I ever watched

ep 17 really tortured me, I never cried like that day since a long long time watching k-drama. it was the reality of their real-life characters: They were just married for 6 years. Duk Im had miscarriages 2 times before finally delivering the son, who passed away when 4 years old. Then, they had a kid again, a daughter, but passed away months after being born. The last time she was pregnant, she died with her unborn child. I just could not imagine the sorrow of the King.

Dude if you watch the drama too you'll know it how much pain that they give for the viewers 😭especially at the ending

4 months have passed and I'm still stuck with this drama and this couple with this beautiful but sad, overwhelming, devastating and tragic love story is crying tears that no longer exist and sighing, I really can't get over it, the emotions felt and feelings I can feel it all very well, Lee Junho and Lee Se Young really played their characters splendidly every expression, every look, every emotion felt, gesture, action was all very well conveyed and done they were immersed in their characters and it's really very admirable, their chemistry is very perfect, special and breathtaking for sure is another level. no matter how many times i watch it no matter how many times i hear osts or when i see something related to this drama and also when i remember i always cry a lot osts are so perfect and beautiful but sad i have watched this drama 4 times and i cant put it down yeah a masterpiece and it's one of my favorites and for me it's one of the best kdramas I've ever watched, I really miss this drama and I will definitely watch it again whenever I end up coming back to The Red Sleeve no matter what, I love Sandeok so much and I love Lee Junho and Lee Se Young so much that I'll never get over them. You realize they've done an amazing job when you can't forget the drama for a second💗💗💗❤️❤️❤️😭😭😭

literaly it was the drama i am thinking i was ever searching for, Deok Im strong will and the little regert at the end ,the happy and sad ending ,all the helplessness of them and the happiness were beautifully represented indeed much love for this drama

我是看這部戲才認識李俊昊，開始搜尋他了解他，越來越迷上他，他太有魅力了❤️

It is now 1:30 am at night and I have finished the drama 10 minutes ago . Now I'm here to listen the osts. I mean really I'm feeling so much imotional after watching this masterpiece 😭. The writers did a great job . Each dialogs hits so much hard when you understand how much they loved each other. The female lead is so much brave and strong. Her character was not badass but still she managed to potrait her strong-willed mindset throughout the drama. She aware about the consequences she have to face for becoming the royal concubine. Lee jun ho just did a great job. Ahh I just can't able to get over from it . For me episode 16 is the happy ending for them. Although I finished the full drama. It is the 2nd historical drama that I cried after moon lovers scarlet heart.

Он любил всем сердцем и ждал так долго,надеясь,что любовь будет взаимна...Она любила подруг, брата, себя( гордую, независимую, преданную...)

Pertama kali nonton cuma iseng karena spillnya seru dan lucu, nyatanya pas ngikutin dan terus ngikutin jd suka banget sampe cari tahu kalo ternyata drama ini nyata love story jaman jeoson, but thank you karena sebagus itu ini drama kerajaan. Sampai akhir ikutin, alurnya dikemas dgn sangat baik, ga mengecewakan🥲

Why did i feel this pain in my chest even though I don't understand korean. Really this drama left a great impact on me

Everything is just so perfect. Lee Sun Hee’s voice made the scenes more alive and emotional while here me crying super hard esp during the last ep. Her voice reminds me of every inches of love and pain San and Deok Im had experienced. Such a beautiful love story with a beautiful song💯💯
