Mutual induction & inductance | Electromagnetic induction | Physics | Khan Academy

When changing current in one coil induces an EMF in the other, the phenomenon is called mutual induction. The strength of the EMF induced depends on the mutual inductance of the pair of coils. The S.I. unit of mutual inductance is Henry, the same as that of self-inductance.

Coil 1 is connected to an AC voltage source, therefore the magnetic flux is changing.

If u move the second coil the flux decrease ok.. But the rate of change of flux is same as that u move it towards the first coil.. So why the brightness of the bulb decrease?

Mutual inductance is like a resultant of both these quantities For example if coil 1 has N turns and coil 2 has M turns The M21 will depend on product of the turns ie.. MN Hence it will be same
