MUTHODI FOREST JEEP SAFARI - CHIKMAGALURU - BHADRA WILD LIFE - BADHRA FOREST SAFARI - LAKKAVALLI
Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area and tiger reserve situated in Chikkamagaluru district, around 30 kms from Chikkamagaluru and 270 km from Bengaluru city in Karnataka.
Bhadra Tiger Reserve covers an area of approx 500 Kms. There are two main access points to Bhadra Jeep Safari one from Lakavalli in Shomoga and the other near Muthodi Chikmagaluru.
The area was first declared as 'Jagara Valley Wildlife Sanctuary' in 1951 by the then government of its surroundings, the area was extended to its present extent and renamed to Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary in 1974.
An estimated over 40+ tigers are found in Bhadra. Other animals in the sanctuary include elephant, Indian Leopard, gaur, sloth bear, wild boar, black leopard, jungle cat, jackal, wild dog, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, mouse deer, common langur, bonnet macaque, slender loris, small Indian civet, common palm civet, pangolin, porcupine, flying squirrel and the Malabar giant squirrel.
Situated in the midst of Western Ghats in Chikmagalur district, Karnataka is the Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary, Muthodi. Known for one of the popular tiger reserves in India with lush green and hill ranges, this sanctuary also habitats varieties of Flora and Fauna which are endemic to the Western Ghats.
The sanctuary contains Kallahathigiri which is supposed to be the highest point of the hill. The hills of Kemmanagundi and Baba Budan are inside this sanctuary.

As far we know, Bhadra has the good number of wild elephants, indian Gaurs, 40+ tigers and is in Western Ghats and animal sighting is completely on luck.

Yes, there are charges for Camera in Bhadra. Upto 70 mm - Rs 200 For 70 mm - 200 mm - Rs 600 250 mm and above - Rs 1000
How to reach from lakavalli to bhadra wildlife sanctuary ?
Excellent video & and you guys are very lucky to spot those animals.. Can you just tell at what time the ticket counter opens ? I'm planning to visit next week.. as I have booked a home stay around 45kms away from the wildlife sanctuary

Thank you for your comment. It opens from 6 AM for the 1st safari. Be there early as you may run out of tickets in weekends if there are a larger group

I think yes as it is not raining heavily now in Chikamagaluru. As per Akash our Guide in the Safari informed us of the sighting of elephants 🐘🐘nowadays in morning. We personally feel morning safari is good coz we did not find that many animals in the evening safari in our past experience.

You can buy safari tickets offline by visiting there by person. Safari is around 25kms approx too and fro. It is around 1.5 hrs of jeep ride

As of we have seen, there are 2 jeeps (around 10 members capacity) and 1 bus per safari. Note : there are 2 safaris in morning and 2 safari in evening. Hope, we answered your doubt

Your mentioned timing for safari is totally wrong It is of 2 times a day only 6:30 to 8:30 and 16:00 to 18:00

Request you to check video properly before commenting. Check the time stamp at 3:09 in the video. Safari Timing is correctly mentioned by Karnataka Forest Dept (KFD) board including the cost of safari. This is what is mentioned in our video also.
