You absolutely do need to be careful not to get caught in collecting all the alternate covers. I've bought DCC three times, MCC twice. Only a shortage of shelf space stands between me and abject poverty.

The umerica setting for DCC deserves a look if you like post apocalypse. Where MCC assumes much time has past since the apocalypse and that technology is old and forgotten (planet of the apes), umerica is the opposite in that the event is more recent history (mad max).

@@himurogentoku7117 The game is unfinished in places. It has to do with Jim Wampler and why he's not employed by Goodman Games anymore. Personally, if you want a Gamma World clone, Mutant Future is better. If they update MCC and add about 15 pages, it could solve all the issues.

This is an excellent game if you want to do something like Thundarr. It’s also a natural crossover, just add the magic from DCC to recreate the sorcery from Thundarr.

I love MCC and so do my players. My biggest gripe is the lack of spell variety for Shaman and how boring the Healer class is. I did get the Computarchs book. It is full of imagination, but sloppily is edited and adds complexity to the system. All in all i hope to run more MCC in the future. PS.. Goodman Games, please release another supplement for this game. We need more shaman and healer support.

Just steal from DCC. Use the spells for cleric and MU. I realize that's sort of a cop out, but its a viable in-between.

Jim Wampler is such a super-fan of the post apocalyptic genre and it really shines through MCC. It's fun listening to old spellburn episodes where he talks about it's development a bit.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I love DCC and MCC and their adventures, but I hate the funky dice. Just more unnecessary clunk. I honestly wish the system was build around less dice...

Sounds like it hews much more closely to GW than I had guessed. I knew it was inspired by it but this very much sounds like an edition of gamma world as opposed to a game that draws from it. Actually pretty exciting to me

We do in fact play with DCC blended in. The judge crafted a story involving that, and the A.I. gods, we gradually uncover. He figured out how to make it sort of a westmarches, and very low prep between sessions. Naturally we are inclined to venture further up the central mega dungeon/tower but other times we feel like exploring the boundaries. Sometimes he fits an adventure from a module into our world. It doesn't even need to be a DCC or MCC module.
