I am haitian and am constable told my food is "unhealthy" because it's mostly poor or organ meats. I pay them no mind because I am here for good food, good music, and good times. My health is my happiness, NOT restraints made up by euro-centric medical practices.

For me, healthy is when your body is in perfect condition. Healthy food is when nothing is eaten more than it should be.

This is a question that only a person who hasn’t had to deal with chronic illness can ask

I have vit b12 and vit D deficiency and my uncle who is a one of the most respected doctors in the city, owns a big hospital said this. "Every human body is different and yes a healthy diets leads you a long way in life, you don't get the health issues in middle ages if you have a healthy diet but these vitamins tests and people throwing money on supplements need to stop, self prescription needs to stop, people gotta stop eating those gummy bear kinda candies and those vitamin pills on every Departmental store shelf, I'm here 60+ and alive and well I never took them, if you're soo keen on taking vitamins put that effort in your diet instead and see where ir takes you, some people don't need too much vitamins some have bodies that don't have good vitamins buildup, look out for your mental health these numbers don't mean much unless your doctor gets you a prescriptions"

Being healthy means having bodily functions that aren’t indicative or a precursor of a medical condition. You shouldn’t over obsess over numbers and the things you eat but you definitely should keep them in mind. A person that eats fast food every day and isn’t active will objectively be less healthy both physically and mentally because they won’t be receiving the proper about amount of nutrients, amino acids, proteins and tons of other things. At the end of the day these “numbers” will dictate how we feel and even think.

I am in recovery for an eating disorder, thank you. I’m nearly speechless because no one says this on these apps. Just thank you so much for reminding me, for being vulnerable and for sharing your life with us. Sending you so much love 🤍

Thank you for this. My daughter loves musubi and I sent it in her lunch today (she's four). She came home from from preschool telling me she never wanted to eat it again because her teacher said it was unhealthy. Now she's worried about anything she eats being healthy and it breaks my heart that such a small kid already has to deal with such a toxic diet culture. She eats a huge, varied, and adventurous diet and loves trying new things and exploring new cultures. That shouldn't be taken from her in the interest of "health."

I just recently got over my anorexia, and this made me cry. I was obsessed with the numbers on my scale for so long, that I wasnt hearing my friends calls for me to stop.

This is so important. Recently I'm getting more and more worried about what I eat and when I eat.

this is a really good message and one i am trying to learn. “healthy” can be so many different things to different people. but i want to feel healthy. learning that my health is about how i feel and not the numbers on a scale or how i look in the mirror. thank you.

I’ve struggled with an eating disorder for years, the number on the scale was everything for me. I’m still struggling heavily yet after being in rehab I learned to at least choose food with benefits.
