The panel reinforcement is a very important piece of the front end of your Mustang. Not only do the headlights mount to it, it also serves a key roll in mounting the bumper cover. If this part is damage, it can cause panel alignment issues, and poor headlight performance. Today, we're going to show you how to replace it on our 2001 Mustang GT.

The headlights didn't fit correctly from what I'm seeing. The reason for that is do to the six tabs on the bumper cover. On each side, the left and right tabs rest on top of the support structure while the middle tab goes in the slot and locks in place due to a bead on the bottom of the center tab. This allowed my headlights to fit perfectly against the top where contact with the metal fender occurs. Hope this helps the next person during their support structure installation.

I believe on the left and right outside Reinforcement panel should have went behind the fender.
ooooooohh no wonder my 02v6 bumper never went back on after a Jeep wrangler cut me off to get a parking spot, didn't stay on, that 2 bolt clip behind the fender! makes all sense now... yes I tried to fix it myself with no reference.
From what I've found, nobody manufactures the SVT Cobra 99-01 OEM bumper. The 03-04 bumper fit my 99 quite well. Do let me know if find a chin spoiler for an 03-04 Cobra front bumper that is reasonably priced; used or new those are pricey.

I broke this part on my 99 GT after installing the mrt hood strut. I think I misaligned my hood during installation. Could a misaligned hood be the reason this part broke?

Possible but I would not say likely.
How do I remove a quarter panel?
Is it basically the same on the 94-98 mustangs?

The fog lights will not have to be unplugged. You will need a 12mm box wrench to slip over the rear of the adjustment nuts and push towards the front. CJ Pony has a video on replacing the headlights, that should help. On my 95 the headlight and turn signal are separate lights.

The 99-01 Cobra are only available used.
Love the content of all these videos! However, the ANNOYING and UNNECESSARY rock music bed is pretty cheesy. Also, could you speed up the edits? We don’t need to see bolts being completely removed. Just start it & edit to the next shot. There is a reason most of us have stopped watching automotive shows on TV. Don’t be a clone.

We are always evolving as a department and have changed up the music and other things as we go. Unlike many of the automotive shows we do all the work in house as you seen it being filmed.
