Mustafa Barghouti - how life changed in 1967, "terrible racism" in the media and Gaza | UNAPOLOGETIC

Over the course of a lengthy discussion, Mustafa Barghouti recollects his life from growing up as a child in Ramallah, which was then controlled by Jordan, to the present Israeli assault on Gaza.
Topics covered include how the 1967 War and subsequent Israeli occupation changed his life and propelled him to become a medical doctor and into political activism, studying medicine abroad. He describes life under occupation and the hopes that the First Intifada brought, the failed Oslo peace process and his role in those negotiations, how he was shot in 1996 by Israeli security forces, the decades-long brutality of the Israeli army, the Second Intifada, the death of Yasser Arafat, Palestinian elections in 2006 and the civil war, the siege of Gaza. He talks about the 7 October, how the media perceives the current assault by Israel on Gaza, and the future of Palestinian liberation.

I have been listening to reports of the situation in Gaza on Times Radio in the UK. One frequently hears input from an Israeli Government spokesperson, and occasionally a Palestinian representative, though never the two in the same broadcast. The significant difference for me is that the Israeli spokesperson is invariably on first name terms with the interviewer. This facility is not to my knowledge extended to the Palestinian spokesperson. The favoured preference given to the Israeli representative is most unprofessional but, sad to say, not surprising. In my own humble way, Dr Barghouti, I apologise for the intolerable and willingly ignorant way Ms Hartley-Brewer spoke to you on British TV.

Murray tried in his usual evidence free and hyperbolic way to imply that Barghouti incentivises terrorism (Murray's contortion of paying benefits to the widows of dead or imprisoned resistance fighters). It was really shameful thst such a moral hero as Barghouti was dragged into a gutter with that shameless and fanatical man The information about Arafat selling out the real Palestinan people who had been putting all the work in inside the West Bank was fascinating

Immense respect for this man, Dr Mustafa Barghouti. His loyalty and love for his people and land is deeply rooted in him and his work and dedication throughout his life clearly shows that. May Israel pay for every single crime against the Palestinian people, may they pay. May we see justice and a free Palestine in our lifetime.

    M. Barghouti talks a lot about the failure of Oslo, yet he never once identifies the elements of Oslo’s failure...and gives the impression that PLO chose Oslo behind the Palestinians even though 84% of the Palestinians approved of it. Secondly, Barghouti does not mention that Israel’s assassination of Rabin is A contribution from Israel to thwart Oslo, while the complementary contribution was from Hamas, but... Barghouti does not criticize Hamas, but rather criticizes the Palestine Liberation Organization, which Israel wanted to remove from the scene.

Repeat same mistakes and get same results unfotunately. Violence against Israel does not work as proven over and over. Better to try non violent means.

The march of return was non violence and once again they were massacred. Including children medics and journalists. Israel are a brutal occupation. Imagine if someone stole your land. This is unconscionable

there was a place called Palestine, not a country, given 2/3rd of itto Arabs, and a small part to jews. since this moment the the arabs wanted to anihilate it, suddenlysome if them called themselfs palestinians, although palestinians were also the jews, als the jordanians itoday, also the christians. The will to not accept jews anda land for them, wheretheyhave lived for centuries. Tell us until which year the arabs were refusing to talk with Israel about a Palestinian land, as they did not recognise it and their goal was to anihilate Israel? tell us, how mayn attacks from surrounding arab countries were done which lead to the victory of Israel and the change of their land? This is. very nice fairy tale you are telling us, very i telligent manipulative, but exCtly this is the reason why there is no country Palestine, not because Israel was bad but because your priorities are not the happiness and freedom of humans. When are you going to talk about your responsabilities leading to the reality we face today, where we suffer becuase of the suffering of all humans there, and still you spread hate i stead of the qill to negociate for freedom?
