I am not a Jew neither am I a Muslim, I come from a Scottish protestant family. I have supported Israel not just since the terrible massacre of innocent people on the 7th October. I've always had great admiration for the Jewish people who are, and people should acknowledge this if they'd care to do some research, that they have been the most oppressed people for thousands of years, well above the black Africans who certainly were victims of slavery, no denial there. Yet, despite their ordeals, they do not consider themselves as victims. They have licked their wounds, pulled up their sleeves, built up their lives, considered education for themselves and future generations paramount, hence their success in many fields, I have no doubt. I listened to Ateret Violet Shmuel with great interest and although I have no doubt your channel is pretty widespread, she should be invited on to other podcasters' videos for her message to be heard by many more to counteract the narratives of those who continue to poison the minds of young people including those who are Jewish themselves, spewing them lies and teaching them self-hate. Be assured that there are many like me who don't swallow the bait, recognise the negative propoganda spread about Israel and the Jews as a whole. May this war which has been raging for months now, be won by Israel who are a beacon of light in the darkness of the Middle East. Thoughts for those hostages who are still in the grips of Hamas, praying they will go home safe and sound.

I thought immigration restrictions were reduced after 1924 but 1921 might be right. I am 3/4 1921 by the way. My great grandmother came in 1929 which, as you indicate, was very rate. I know very few Jews who even believe in Torah, much less keep Torah. Many promote homosexuality, transgender garbage, and all kind of anti-Torah ideologies and beliefs. Others replace Torah with Talmud, Mishnah, etc., and honor those more than they honor or keep Torah. Sad to say, this is what I have seen. The majority of Jews have not kept Torah. If you are referring to the same annual poll i think you are, it compares *countries*, not religions, so it ranks Israel against other nations, and does not make any reference to, or statement about Jews around the world. As such, the factors affecting happiness are multi-faceted and societal, and do not just boil down to religiosity. As you surely know, a large number of Israelis are secular. So if happiness were linked to, or due to “their connection to God”, Israel would rank much lower (because so many Israelis are not religious). *If we are talking about the same poll.

Bullies have always been fashionable. As someone who was bullied in middle school, I can directly attest to this. When my mom went to my sixth grade teacher about this, she was told that the bully was troubled and they were trying to help him. She responded, who’s trying to help my daughter? Society and schools unconsciously side with bullies because the bully embodies seemingly positive traits, physical strength and the ability to aggressively assert that “strength”, while the bullied person shows the traits they don’t like, the inability to fight back. Seeming strength vs. seeming weakness, that’s why schools do NOTHING about bullies.

The excuse that it is 'not their fault' can only be used for so long. These young people's ignorant and bigoted activism is the outcome of a lack of character that their parents have never taught them.

I don’t think we should avoid the term Zionism. The reason Zionism is treated as a curse and considered fascism is that antisemites have defined it that way and spread that definition purposely. I don’t think it’s right to adopt the language as changed by people who use it to manipulate. I also don’t think we should be trying to fit Jews in to these narratives of oppressor/oppressed, colonizer, etc. They are purposeful blood libel, whether used against Jews or anyone else. Some of them may have good intentions and want to do good in the world, but most are using it as a way to bully and gain power, even if they are thinking they are doing good. It needs to end.

Someone once asked me to define Zionism, and I said decolonization of the Jewish homeland. Too many people seem to forget that the Arabs are colonizers, of other peoples' lands, throughout the Levant and northern Africa. We need to stop referring to the Arabs, who are occupying parts of Israel, as "palestinians", and refer to them as Arab colonizers.

I have such a problem with being Jewish "Anti-Israel." I just don't understand it and yes, I have trouble tolerating/forgiving. I am an immigrant (actually had two emigrations), am close to ultimate tragedies of the last century (father lost entire Polish-Jewish traditional family, among other things), and being anti-Israel was something that never entered a mind of any member of my seriously truncated family. Yes, I don't understand how people having unlimited access to information and luxurious (even the underprivileged) lives, choose barbarity.

I can tell you as someone who went from a strong supporter, to being somewhat ashamed of Israel is that it is the "conditioning" that these student groups and student advocates do to their Jewish ✡️ classmate! They convince you that you if you support Israel 🇮🇱 than you are no better than the Nazis, the Russians, the Spanish etc. They compare Israel to the worse of human history and make you a supporter of Israel just as bad as the people who killed your ancestors all those years ago! This is such a wonderful conversation and so affirming. I am a Ph.D. at Brown, and I have been feeling the same way. I share all the values that Ateret has. When October 7th happened, about two days after the tone of the rhetoric on Israeli TV has changed from shock and fear to retaliation and revenge. I was very angry because I knew what is about to happen. I am very critical of Bibi’s government and I am definitely not for the death of innocent people. However, the narratives taught in these universities, especially liberal ones are dangerously false. I study Religious Studies but I am a Sinologist and one thing you learn quickly doing any studies related to East Asia is that western paradigms just don’t fit. The same can be said for Israel. I am also in a Gender Studies program because I focus on women in Chinese religion and the narratives of oppressor and oppressed just dominate in all programs in the humanities. It does feel a lot like brainwashing. And no matter how much professors might emphasize that all views are welcome. This is just not true. The left doesn’t welcome any more dissent. I felt very isolated on campus last semester. Now I am doing research in Taiwan and am just extremely delighted not to be on campus. I feel like American universities have lost the plot.

I am also a naturalized American, and I love this country. I also did my BA and MA in China, and I love that country. Brainwashing exists literally everywhere. I am VERY critical of the Israel education system. Perhaps not a popular opinion in a chanel that seems to think highly of Emily Schrader---Israel lies. Maybe not about everything, not all the time, but it does. Just now, I have a friend who is a peace activist and been one all her life and served with me in the IDF, she shared live footage of how settlers are destroying food supply to Gaza. This is not something Israelis will ever share with the world, will they? What makes us look bad we hide. There's a lot of ugly dishonesty going around. As someone who also had to basically defend and explain what the IDF is doing, I hate to tell you, it's not one bad apple, there are quite a lot. You don't want to engage with or encourage antisemitism, I get that, but even this chanel, and I appreciate what these women are doing, is not free of bias. I am one of those Jews, and I get a lot of flack for that, who cares about the truth in all its ugliness. I care about integrity.

And why such a statement merits an immediate comparison to the Palestinians? It's common knowledge that they are brainwashed from a young age to hate Israelis. But Israel also just bombed all schools and universities that existed in Gaza. What was taught it them I couldn't tell you, but I am sure it wasn't just "we hate Israel" on repeat all day long. I don't know why on the one hand Israelis proclaim we are better, more democratic, more enlightened (true for some, maybe most but not all), have better values----all of which I generally agree with----and at the same time, every time there is a critique of Israel, people parrot "but what about the Palestinians?"

On the one hand, proclaiming we are better than them, more democratic, more enlightened and then fall back to false comparisons. It's a weak and frankly, absurd line of argument. I went to Jewish school and became a carpenter. Most Jews in my area leave for larger cities and intermarry like me. So it’s sad when you do go to the temple and there is only 20 people 80 years old. I voted for Trump twice and moved to the country and really are at odds with a lot of Jews. We only share an ancient and religious history and I am not in their tax bracket. The left has hated white Americans for twenty years. But now the right wants to abandon Israel and save what money we have as a country. I am at complete odds with the Democrats and leftist. Nothing I learned in Hebrew school was open borders trans and Gay.

I used to believe in conspiracy theories about 15 years ago and “zionism” was this eerie, mysterious word related to world domination, war and conspiracy. I thought when I overcame that nonsensical and truly ig..no..ra..nt world view that the world would soon follow. Now I’m shocked at hearing academics use the term in a similar way. Recently I had someone explain to me that “certainly there’s antisemitism in this conflict but there’s also the reverse, namely zionism, which is racism against Muslim people”…I thought I was hallucinating but that is apparently what people understand zionism to be nowadays. Instead of opening up a dictionary for once people fall for all the antisemitic propaganda without even realizing that it is antisemitic or at least rooted in antisemitic sentiments that are centuries old.

For America to be great, its people need to love America, so what are these universities doing, turning out the opposite?

Ateret's tone is very good. I'm a Welsh gentile, I'm broadly supportive of Israel, my three children (18, 21, 22 old) think I'm some kind of a monster. But they are good people - they stand up to bullies in school, they care for others, they're not spivs and liars who think that making loads of money is the be-all and end-all of everything. When Israeli supporters align with Trump when they do stupid pointless things like drive over the 'Welcome to Gaza' sign, people like my kids just think Israel is the definition of the bully and the kind of people in school who'd bully their friends and black boy friend. So, attacking "woke" people just fails to speak to these people.

Lies have been brewing for a very long time in the USA... I live very close to an old folk school in Tennessee, USA. It was at that school America took a historical turn regarding civil rights... And few, of any college students even realize it: The Highlander Folk School was where the "official" modern day Civil Rights Movement (led by white labor union leader Myles Horton) was founded. It was located in Grundy County, Tennessee. It was situated on 200 private acres, in what has historically been known as a very racist county, with virtually no blacks... Even today the county has a tad over 1% non-white citizens. And because no black Americans lived there in the early to mid 1900's (during the decades of the school's operation), they literally shuttled future black leaders (like Rosa Parks, just prior to her sitting in on the bus) to that small town for training, after it was converted from a labor union training facility in 1954, (directly following the Brown vs B.O.E. decision --which desegregated the nation) and converted to a civil rights training center. Over time, the primary things the students were taught was socialism, activism, and Darwinism. In fact, the Scopes Monkey Trial, which replaced the traditional teaching of creationism with evolution in America's public schools, took place a few miles away, initiated by another labor union leader, George Rappleyea. Now. Make this make sense... Seven miles away... remember, this is out in the middle of nowhere, on a mountain in rural Tennessee, and seven miles from the old folk school... is Sewanee, The University of the South. It was started in the 1850's by Episcopal priests, James Querry Otey and Leonidas Polk... Otey's church services first began in a Masonic Temple in Nashville TN. These two men recruited Issac Franklin and John Armfield, of the most prosperous slave trade company in the U.S., Franklin & Armfield (of Alexandria, VA), along with many wealthy plantation owners, like Jacob Thompson (who was Pres Buchanan's Secretary of Interior)-- all men who were angry over their children being ridiculed at Harvard, Yale and other N.E.. schools for their families owning slaves. They joined together to fund the new university. After the Civil War, a few things are important to know: * The school kept it's Confederate professors for generations, and the University Cemetary reveals who they were.. *Jacob Thompson, as part of the Confederate Secret Service, was charged, along with three other men associated with Jefferson Davis, for conspiring to kill Lincoln (who emancipated the slaves). These men met with John Wilkes Booth in Montreal for the three weeks prior to him shooting the president (Wilkes, reportedly, died with a Montreal bank note in his pocket.) The men fled to Europe to avoid prosecution, and returned to the US after the Southern politicians negotiated to have the Union (US) troops removed from the South-- soldiers who were stationed in the South protecting the former slaves. This was known as The Compromise of 1877. *Jacob Thompson (a friend of Albert Pike, the founder of the KKK and highest ranking Freemason in America), was pardoned by President Andrew Johnson. And the university only renamed it's Thompson Center in 2017. * An assistant of Margaret Sanger, M. Cross, of Connecticut, worked for the school's alumni association. The school honors Margaret Sanger annually. This tiny, mountain community is the last place on earth the Civil Rights Movement should have been birthed... Everyone they helped advanced in society, and within their own spirit, because the Christians (example: Charles Finney) connected the former slaves to Jesus, not to atheistic Marxism

i do not agree when she said its not your fault and your good people. one become good by changing and one changes by searching for what is true. if one decide to just fallow hamas because there is less people or don`t have the military power as israel ,i call that ignorance and ignorance makes bad people, a good person will stop themselves and study the situation really deep on both sides and takes good infos. one cannot be just a good person because you feel sorry about a side that does not have the big power, that is ignorance and ignorance causes people to do bad. she was bad plain and simple, until she finally decide to look things up a bit further and coming out of ignorance,. ignorance is a SIN. she is now on the good side when it comes to Israel and that still does not make her a good person but she is on the right road to become one.

I stand with Israel, I wish I could do more. But Jewish people is always in my heart. From Italy ❤
