We have markets, but they are farmers markets. Lots of good foods. Not as big as those ones. I can hook you up with the best fish and chips you’ve ever had, and if you come in the fall you can partake of our salmon festival. Barbecued salmon!!! Mmmmmm
Good job - one of your best market videos

Ah! So it is mung bean. Thanks for the tip!
As a Thai person, Phuket for me is just a hub for branching out to many island. It's not a main destination itself. I'd say if u plan to visit islands (or do the islands hopping tour), yes, u may stay in Phuket for a night or 2. In fact, I'd rather choose Krabi or Trung province as a hub. If u don't visit islands, there's no point to visit Southern Thailand. The reason people call Thailand "paradise" is because of those island (white sand, clear turquoise water, etc..). You won't find those in any of Phuket beaches (or any mainland beaches). BTW, my favorite island is "Similan Islands". Not many westerners go there. So, if u ever comeback for islands, remember that name.... PS. that desert thing is called "Look Choop" (feel free to look them up); yes, there's mung bean paste inside. .... PS2 that isn't Hainan Rice with chicken. It's Biryani Rice with chicken. So, it's India influenced, not China.
@ChubbyAndAway

Hi Ben! Thats all great advice! We are definitely going to check out the Similan Islands when we come back! We are not big mung bean fans, haha.

Do you every get sick from eating off the street. I so wanna try it, but so worried we will end up with the shits
@ChubbyAndAway
5 жыл бұрын
Actually, no. The only times that we got sick were at fancy restaurants. After this year of travel, we made the conclusion that street stalls seem cleaner, overall. It works to your advantage to see how they prepare the food. Its usually fresh ingredients. A lot of street food is fried, so it kills the germs. You do have to watch out for "gutter oil" though. In my opinion, its best to just dig in because most places look shady, but end up being the best places. Be sure to take some antibiotics with you for gastroenteritis, just in case.
