The original Dishonored and its expansions have some excellent level design with replayability 👍.
Awesome selection. Titan Fall 2's campaign is mind blowing, truly underrated game.

Yeahhhhhh, it's gotta be there! Happy Friday!
Awesome list! I have a few recommendations as well to just throw out there. The Crysis remastered trilogy, Bulletstorm, System Shock remake, and Selaco. As far as upcoming games, I can't wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2!
1. Turbo Overkill 2. Roboquest 10/10's that I'd even consider to be near the merit of Half Life. Also heard Selaco is really good but haven't tried it yet

I just put Roboquest on my wishlist, thanks for the recommendation! 🫡
Nice list. On the off note, have you ever played Subnautica? It has been on my backlog for a while and I’ve finally started playing it. The game is does a great job of making you feel the beauty of the world while also feeling the dread that a predator is hunting you. The game does not hold your hand so it really feels like that you are calling the shots on how you are going to survive. Not to mention, as a paleontology and ecology nerd, the world does a fantastic job of showing an alien ecosystem that exists with or without you.
F.E.A.R is a masterpiece in atmosphere. While it isn't fully a horror game, it's still the game that felt the creepiest to me out of everything I played. SWAT 4 is a tactical shooter that also has a really well made atmosphere, it can also get as creepy as a horror game at times. You also have to try No One Lives Forever 1 and 2, actually made by the same guys that made F.E.A.R, but these have the complete opposite tone, they are humorous games where you play as basically female James Bond. NOLF 1&2 are abandonware at this point though. You can find them on a website where they have been properly patched for modern PCs and free to download, but I forgot the name, it's been quite some years.

Remember XIII ? That had a similar aesthetic to the NOFL games and my word they were incredible.
I’m glad rage 2 made the cut in this video, also I think people should try singularity because it’s a very enjoyable game, could have been way better if developers were given more time but it’s still great, if you are into time travel, history rewriting and stuff like that you will feel at homr
Just wanted to say I’ve been watching your channel for a couple years now and I absolutely love how you go about your content. Very chill and easy to watch. I feel like a lot of gaming KZread is just endlessly complaining and critiquing games, but in your videos it’s very obvious just how much you enjoy playing games and how you just want to talk about them. It’s a lovely breath of fresh air and you’ve introduced me to dozens of games over the years. So thank you!

@@BBKDRAGOON no worries :) rn I've really been enjoying dead cells and firewatch. both have just blown me away and they're great. would def recommend if you haven't already
I don't usually comment on videos but as one of F.E.A.R.'s biggest fans, I recommend trying it out as soon as you can. It's such a well made and fun game (and its DLC and sequels aren't that bad, they just play differently). The only thing that keeps me from replaying it over and over again is the fact I don't like horror games
Nice list. My "comfort" FPS games in the category of "Replay at least once a year" are: Black Mesa and Halo 2. I replaced Half Life with Black Mesa when it came out, because I just like it more nowadays. And Halo 2 I could just replay over and over. Definitely my favorite Halo campaign. As for suggestions: Wolfenstein The Old Blood and The New Order. Definitely something to check out. Prey, even though it's not actually an FPS, more of a Immersive Sim. Still amazing game. Crysis. Especially the first one. And a few CODs. MW1 and 2 and BO1. Best campaigns from the COD catalogue, in my opinion. Nothing even comes close to those 3.

Definitely on Wolfenstein; just played through New Order, Old Blood, and 2 New Colossus this week. On easy mode, you can fly through them in 15ish hours total. Incredible games
Thank you for making positive videos instead of just adding to the black pill content out there about how bad the current entertainment industry is. Even though people are entirely justified because movies, tv and games right now are [mostly] trash, it's refreshing to be reminded of how much there is to enjoy out there. I've got a big backlog of 360 games I can't wait to get into. I am also building up my retro collection to keep me busy. Keep it up Dragoon.
I was gonna ask where F.E.A.R. was. Its one I go back to allllllll the time. Glad you mentioned it at the end, I really hope you enjoy it!
Rage 2 is super underrated. I really loved the abilities and frenetic combat
My recommendation for FEAR-play at 720p or lower, possibly play it at a 4:3 aspect ratio too. Bring yourself back in time a bit to when that game came out, let the lower resolution add to the atmosphere by obscuring your visuals, play it at night and turn off the lights, get a nice cup of tea and commit to 2 hours and see if it sucks you in

Does this TEA contain OPM? Murky in low resolution.
Great great great list, if I could pick i would pick every single one of them, respect (played them all in the past on release dates except cyberpunk). Blood dragon is also a very neglected and forgotten game. Absolutely loved it and it ran like a charm on my PC back on the day.
Great list, I'm a very competitive game and it's important for me to have chill games like this to go back to in order not to get burned out on always playing the same comp game. The only thing I would've added but that's more of a very personal and niche pick, would have been "Serious sam: Next Encounter" on the Gamecube which is probably the most cozy laidback fps I've ever played, it's just Aesthetically pleasing and straight to the point.
This might be the most valid list i have ever seen
you should Play Sprawl ( basicly titanfall movment ) or turbo overkill
Solid list bro! Played all of them and completely agree with you. Deus Ex and Crysis could have been there too.

Great suggestions, Human Revolution I need to finish
A few great FPS games I've been playing recently are Amid Evil, Forgive Me Father, Exosuit and Fashion Police Squad. They are all fantastic Boomer Shooters and I highly recommend checking them out
The Crysis games are great as well
‘FC: Blood Dragon’ is such a blast to play. Michael Biehn killed it with all those one-liners!
I personally recommend trying out the Crisis Trilogy and Star Wars Republic Commando. These were the games that got me into FPS shooters (I have my dad to thank for that 😁).
Have you ever wondered what Borderlands would be like if it was an open world sandbox game? in this case i can recommend Generation Zero. On the surface it has nothing to do with BL bc it starts off looking and playing like a survival shooter, but it does borrow several elements of BL such as dedicated loot drops, loot rarities "go there, do this" quest structures and loot containers everywhere. But instead of bandits, eridians and corporate enemies you'll be fighting different types of robots that are roaming the open world and have erradicated nearly all human life in sweden (the game takes place there). It starts off a bit slow and spooky and the survival aspects are definitely the focus there, but the more you progress, the more chaos unleashes around you until you see yourself in the middle of an active warzone with groups of 3 metre high mega robots stomping around you, firing rockets and miniguns at each other, deploying smaller machines to aid in combat and so much more. It can get really intense when it wants to :)
Prey and Dishonored 1/2 are among some of the best single player games in existence and you should definitely check them out.
My favorite most underrated gem of all time is bullet storm. Again another case of like a 7 out of 10 but one fun 7 out of 10 for sure

I just started this for the first time. I’m about 2hrs in right now. 😊
I miss playing Borderlands with friends. Sadly I lost that group of friends and now can only play solo. Luckily I've gotten through BL3 completely on my own and learned that I can enjoy the same game solo. Would like to get back into BL2 and finally get through the DLC for the game.
Great Video! What font do you use for your thumbnails? I've been looking for a new font for thumbnails!
Second Sight is really nice. It's really REALLY old but has fun mechanics and an amazing atmosphere.
just played blood dragon. it's a really good spin on the far cry series.
Marathon is pretty cool. I like those games. I’m upset they’ll never be reunited with Halo but that’s got bigger issues.

Absolutely! I'm there with ya. Especially the first two. I'm not as much of a fan of The New Colossus, because it's too much on the cutscene front. It's got so many cutscenes you'd think it was made by Kojima. And I won't even dignify the last one with naming it. That's definitely one to avoid.

I can't stop playing STALKER Anomaly GAMMA. I always come back every month or so to do a new run and check out the updates. It's my perfect immersive survival fps. Also gotta do the TF2 campaign at least twice a year.

Nice! I’m playing BL2 on my Switch atm as well(Commando).
Vanquish is a mix of great movement with slow mo Binary domain Ghost recon breakpoint and wildlands
I would say shovel knight even though its not a FPS I do go back to it with the newer campaigns and the original one are all quite fun.
I'll add some: Thief Franchise from early 2000's: Made by 'Looking Glass Studios', same guys that made System Shock 1/2, they made 2 thief games, inspired the okay'ish 3rd through another studio. They're old, some bolster HD graphic textures that touch it up to some degree if it's a problem. However I am immersed despite its older graphics. Splinter Cell is a classic stealth property, as is Metal Gear Solid from sounds of it, and Payday 2 with an arcade-like stealth approach has its audience including myself, but thief is the definitive stealth experience. Never have I experienced such a feeling of not wanting to get caught (besides a horror game, and at times it can feel like that, so maybe not the most comfortable FPS experience). I'd pitch the comparison to TitanFall 2, spawning a dedicated fanbase who sees the quality in a niche product. Just in awe and pure admiration for the game, that is the same with the Thief franchise. Not for everyone, but for who its for, you'll love it. And its worth at least a look, I'd watch MandaloreGaming's videos on them. There is also mod support with plenty of fan maps. Dying Light. I know there's like a million zombie games, but this is one of my favorites. The melee in visceral and satisfying like no other zombie game, and you'll explore a zombi-fied environment (a few, including DLC's), via parkour and jumping like a jelly bean all over the place, while being afraid of the oppressive atmosphere of the very unique visuals, sounds and tone of it all. Worth mentioning Dying Light's parkour is akin to Mirrors Edge's parkour. And also, not quite a comfort experience but good singleplayer FPS. Early installments of Gears of War are classics to me with Borderlands, each subsequent game innovating and improving (But not talking about Judgement and beyond). BK mentioned Far Cry 3 DLC, I'll add Far Cry 4 as my favorite of Ubisoft's old works (Field of View awful however). Bioshock that was touched on here, but they're definitely worth a playthrough if not played yet. Games I can vouch for that I haven't played yet are S.T.A.L.K.E.R's franchise (mods too), Penumbra (Amnesia developers), F.E.A.R. as mentioned (Trepang 2 created with FEAR's essence as well recently). Dishonored 1, probably 2 the sequel in some ways. I've picked them all up and on my backlog to try, FEAR this week.
i 100% get what u mean about how a game can be a 7/10 yet still be such a fun laid back experience that it can become almost a 10/10 if ur talking about the experience instead of the game itself, sometimes jank, simple and mediocre games can be the most fun, an example of a game i had that experience with is spongebob battle for bikini bottom rehydrated, it feels kinda jank and 100% low budget and the gameplay is beyond simple yet it was such a chill and fun experience i ended up getting all the achievements
i have all these game in my library
One the most underrated FPS gem imo would be C&C: Renegade. It may not be perfect Singleplayer game but it's very entertaining, and not to mention the Multiplayer, it's by far the best & well thoughtout Multiplayer game that really solves the problem for most FPS/RTS hybrids out there even to this day. Even Silica Multiplayer wasn't as new player friendly compared to C&C: Renegade. Totally worth giving it a try. :)

If you ever do get to playing FEAR, you should also try out a game called Legendary, fun fps horror about fighting mythological creatures
You should try out Trepang2 its one of my fav singleplayer games
i may sound like a deadbeat but ultrakill, reaver, turbo overkill and superhot would be my fps go to
FPS Roguelikes: Roboquest, Deadlink, Gunfire Reborn, Mullet Mad Jack and Witchfire.
I heard that the doom games are really good, I’m holding off playing it because there’s a lot of crazy stuff going on in this world, and I don’t want to play intense gameplay right now with everything going on!
I just started half life 2 and its soooo fun
Mass Effect 1-3, Deus Ex HR, Kotor, Remnant 1 & 2 are good ... oooh FPS hrmmm what you have is good
trepang 2 definitely has been picking up steam lately. not a shooter in a traditional sense but Umurangi Generation is so perfect also

yeah i'd buy a PS5 if Sony brings back both of these franchises
Games I always go back to for fun would have to be dead space games halo games, BioShock infinite and call of duty infinite warfare. Also bullet storm is always a fun romp.
Few suggestions I think some ppl may like: Dishonored, Ghostrunner, Left4Dead (Coop is best), Outer Worlds (for ppl who have played fallout already), Post Void, Shadow Warrior reboot series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R series, Ultrakill, and the Wolfenstein series. I think a lot of these are gonna be a good fit for some ppl and many have a lot of replayability.
Top 3 favorite are farcry the new dawn, metro exodus and the crysis trilogy
Coincidence i just replayed half life 2 like 6 days ago

You should try Turbo Overkill.

bioshock saga bro 🤤
Sometimes then i'am bored and have nothing to play, i install Half-life 2 and only play through the route canal chapter. It was so mainstream to hate that part of the game. Don't care, the graphics, color are the best for me in that chapter.
Warhammer 40K Boltgun is amazing if you're looking for a more old school looking fps
i know its not a fps game but Ghost of Thsusima is the greatest game i ever played
Try trepang 2 and Far cry new dawn (basically lite version of Fc5 but focused on gameplay and combat similar with blood dragon)
I've been trying to get someone to sit down with me and play every halo campaign and no one wants to do it halo couch co op was something else 😢
surprised to see absolutely no mention of resistance and killzone in the comments
I wish I could like Cyberpunk but the visuals genuinely hurt my eyes to the point where I can't play more than 30 minutes without discomfort. Everything looks so grainy no matter what settings I use, and the lack of FSR 3 is a struggle when I can't run the game smoothly at 60fps despite having a 6700xt
If you haven't already, I would HIGHLY reccommend ULTRAKILL, one of the best FPS games to release in years IMHO. and it's not even fully released yet.
The entirety of Destiny 1 was one of the best gaming experiences ever.
I'm surprised the S.T.A.L.K.E.R franchise wasn't mentioned
Borderlands 2 is my favourite game of all time
Dishonored, BIoshock Infinite, Fear 2, etccccccccccc
I'm a lil peeved. I can't log into the Ubisoft account I bought Blood Dragon on. I never finished it. =( It was good.
Singularity doesn't get the love it deserves.
YO, love seeing Cyberpunk 2077 here! One of my absolute favourite games of all time 😊
Borderlands 2 is the bester looter shooter EVER! BL3 is great too, but BL2 set the standard for looter shooters...I don't agree that you have to play with friends, much of this I played alone...but I'm glad you mentioned it either way lol. And No... Fallout 4 is a great game. My favorite honestly. 3 & NV are amazing, but F4 was a treat. The thought of that being blasphemy is a joke. Rage 2...loved it. Rage 2 is starting to get more respect lately I've noticed. as well. And Halo...the Bungie Halo's are my babies. DOOM....#1...enough said.
Do a Half Life 2 retrospective
If you love half life, youll love Black Mesa. Complete remake of the original hl made by diehard fans.
It's Tragic to witness all of the Call of Duty games that have released over time, year after year, rinse and repeat...yet we cannot EVER have a TitanFall 3. yes: I know the 'reasons' why we can't and yes it really sucks
fallout 3? fallout 3??? fallout 3. GOG version works fine and it's definitely better than 4. another vote for the deus ex series, also METROID PRIME. if you are an fps player who never payed attention to metroid prime because "it's metroid" just play it lol.
Sam is pissed...serious
Not an FPS game, but Max Payne 1 should be here or something Game's great Story's Great Gameplay's Great the only problem is that the difficulty is borked on PC and technical wise is also borked, Use patches to fix it. Apart from that, Pretty recommendable!

Wow. RPGs take a bit to be fun because you have to rank up abilities. But if you appreciate graphics it’s amazing on a nice pc.
Rage 2 is like doom eternal combat in an open world. The open world is incredibly boring and the combat encounters arent designed as well as doom eternal so its nowhere near as tight and good of an experience but i think its an underrated game. Good game to pop on and listen to a podcast and just mindlessly blast through imo
Tiny Tina's Wonderland.
It sucks because this is my favorite type of game and they just stopped making them altogether. The only type of first or third person shooters being made to today are almost all exclusively multiplayer now. Most don't even bother with a campaign anymore. And the ones that do, it's mostly an afterthought. Originally, the campaign was the selling point with the mp being just something that to ad in as a bonus for some games. Not anymore, though, it's the complete opposite nowadays. Now it seems the only kind of single player games being produced anymore are hack and slash, Souls like type of games. It's all melee focused games now if you want a single player game. Which sucks for me because I just don't enjoy melee combat games.
