Same here. I was not concerned with skincare growing up in the 70’s as a teen it was more about the suntan. Lol but in the last few years I have gotten rid of my worst sunspots and wear sunscreen every single day. But still need some make up tips.

I have to tell you Gabi, I recently tried to get a blunt bob with bangs because of you. My hairdresser wasn’t happy because….I think she is only comfortable doing layers. My haircut isn’t horrible but I am finding a new and better stylist. I am 66 and loving life. I enjoy your content.

There is something special about Gabi that attracts me with her kindness and sincerity. Thank you so much for sharing your professional knowledge with us.

This is the coolest thing I’ve seen in years in the beauty community. It got so nasty and catty that I thought these days were over. Women and men, lovers of beauty, just hanging out, being creative and supporting one another. I’m not at all a fan of brand trips either. Brands need to support THIS type of thing. Those 2 powder foundations are seriously magical!! And soooo underrated!! They’re also amazing dusted over tinted moisturizer for a bit more coverage.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that just bc we are over 40 means we are dry as a chip. I’m 46 and still can’t use moisturizing foundations. I moisturize underneath but still have to wearing hourglass mineral veil and Estée Lauder double wear and set it with setting powder. Moisturizing foundations and cream blushes don’t work for me

It’s different for everyone, my skin went from combination to a little dry. But what I do is mix matte foundation with Dewey foundation, that seems to work for me.

Me too!! I’m 47 and still live by blotting papers throughout the day lol. I also live in Florida with the crazy humidity! Hourglass mineral veil primer is amazing. Double Wear used to be my go to. Then I switched to Dior forever matte. Maybelline skin tint shockingly works really well for me here in Florida but the worst of humidity hasn’t come yet so I hope it still works

It's perfectly fine to want to look younger, it's a normal desire, and so is wanting to know what is the most flattering makeup, which will help make one look younger. And it's also a reality that as we age, particularly women with the correspondingly marked hormonal changes, skin changes, so the makeup one uses will have to be modified to accommodate the changes in skin in order to make one look younger.

For more mature skin or if you want that glow without breaking the bank, Mac and Urban Decay quality, get the Cover Girl Priming Glow Mist with cactus water. It gives the most beautiful glow to the skin. You can apply it under makeup for a sheen beneath the makeup or over top to give that sweaty juicy glow so many love, but it melts powders into the skin to beautifully and I am NOT at all a Cover Girl fan. I’ve liked some primers (but they discontinued them) and I love their Water Gel moisturizer, mascaras and correcting primers but they are very overpriced now. This glow mist is just around $10, and it lasts you a long time as you don’t need a lot and you don’t need to keep reapplying throughout the day. It’s really something special. It has replaced my Mac Fix Plus Glow mist w coconut and I actually prefer the CG. It is as good as the viral White Truffle facial mist (that contains a lot of oil though) Caudallie, Charlotte T glow mist, but without the oil. I don’t know what’s in it that makes it so good, but it’s magic if you are a glow gal.

I also wear the MAC powder foundation (and I'm over 40). I lean oily so I love it! So some of these rules really don't apply to everyone!

OMG your brushes! And OMG a Sephora card! Your girls are fabulous! I am 50 and I still love my powder, I don't really enjoy cream, blushes. I feel like I am piling makeup on my face with cream. A serum then cream the foundation is more than enough cream on my face.
