Outstanding tuba performance. Bravo maestro!Many very fine professional tubists refuse to play Bydlo because it’s very difficult and risky performed on a bass tuba. Tenor tuba or euphonium are more suitable. Jacobs played it on a contrabass tuba for the CSO recording in the early 1950s.

I don’t know a single professional tuba player that refused to play Bydlo. Usually it’s the solo trombone with a massive ego that demands to play.

This started my lifelong love for Pictures at an exhibition. Our music teacher played it on the piano, then we listened to the whole concert, Ravel'S version, and when Bydło came up I started crying in class. To me, it is one of the most beautiful, herartrending pieces of music ever written. And The Great Gate of Kiew will play at my funeral, that is a certainty. Thank you for this!

Bravo maestro! As fine a performance of the most difficult solo in all of orchestral repertoire! You made it sound like easy midrange just like Arnold Jacobs on the CSO/Kubelik recording when he played Bydlo on the York in the 1950s. Bravissimo encore wonderful maestro!!!

An "Bydło" erkennt man die Virtuosität von Dirigent und Orchester. Die hier gebotene Fassung gehört für mich zur Oberklasse. Einfach fabelhaft. Bravo! Wo gibt es das ganze Konzert?

Ich würde sagen, bei einem Ochsenkarren ist schwergewichtig doch passend.
