Not sure why you decided to include large print instructions but I appreciate it so much! I'm 75 with macular degeneration and am getting back to knitting after 40 years. I use a lighted magnifying glass to knit and it is wonderful to be able to read the instructions without magnification. I also love the spreadsheet. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful hat with so many useful tools.

Your part 1 tutorial popped up on my KZread feed yesterday and I fooled around with the pattern this morning for a little while and I got it!! I learned how to knit on KZread in January 2020. I always seem to change original patterns because I’m left handed and I find things in patterns that I usually adapt into different things!! This pattern is spot on!! Love this hat pattern!! I love that you have a spreadsheet it takes all the guesswork out!! So cleverly and thoughtfully designed!! TBH I have never bought a pattern before but I’m buying this one!!

This is so interesting!!! I just received my yarn today & am super excited to learn how to make this hat. I love the fact that you use technology so well in your patterns, even with printing you have great options. I will use this on my next Musselburgh hat, an excellent pattern.

Where can we access this spreadsheet? I started your pattern yesterday. I’m very uncertain about the gauge as I understand it from what I’m reading. I’m using a sport weight/DK yarn, my count is 6 stitches per inch which means I’ll increase until I have 96 stitches. But past experience with hats in this yarn I’ve needed 140-160 sts for this head circumference. Is it the nature of the pattern? I’d find this reassuring to use.

I would love a visual drawing showing markers and where increases go.

I feel nostalgic that I can’t use the spreadsheet as Dropbox needs me to download windows Excel in order to do the job. I find that Dropbox does not serve my current life either and I no longer have a computer so no windows office programmes. That was another life altogether. I have great control with gauge and an even tension so I am using the Print & Mobile versions of your pattern. I do miss getting to use that great calculator you developed for the spreadsheet though 😔 Great premise Ysolda. A warm and wind resistant hat is a must in most wintery climates and a machine washable one is helpful to busy working folk. Thanks 🙏🏼

@@ysoldateague it is of no matter now. You already did all of the arithmetic work necessary which leaves me with a good portion of ‘mindless knitting’ that has a rewarding conclusion. I only just finished the final two rows of my First Musselburgh yesterday so it is Eucalan time now. It is a Perfect pattern and you did great 👍🏼

I learned the pinhole cast on from very pink knits because I wanted to make a flat circle for snowman eyes. Type it in as knitted pi circle.

Where is the spread sheet to print? I just got page one of the update

Is the head measure considering a negative ease? For example, if my head circumference is 21 inches, will the result be a little smaller for a better fit.

It is available with your Musselburgh pattern downloads as a separate PDF. There is a link for you to click to open, and you need to save it as a copy as the file is read-only when first downloaded.

Not working for me 😞 I purchased the pattern and have the spreadsheet open in dropbox but it isn't letting me enter anything on the left-hand side.

You need to download the file and open in it in a spreadsheet app. Google sheets works if you need one :)

My bank card wont let me buy it so a little sad over the Musselburgh hat 😢

I don't have excel so this is a useless pattern for a hat I really wanted to make.
