Thank you for part one..have started 2nd half of the hat.
Thank you very much and I can't wait to make my first one musselburgh hat this winter!
Thank you for all the work you did figuring out the stitch counts and making the charts. I'm now on my third Musselburgh. This one is helix stripes. I have trouble keeping track of whether I'm on an increase round or not, so I just do spiral increases (4 every round) and decreases, and I find the charts invaluable. It still amazes me that something that looks like a big floppy tube gets transformed into a perfectly proportioned hat!
I made a mini musselburgh for my last granddaughter for the hospital using 2 20 gram minis it was the hit of the hospital 😁 just finished another for her brother due in 6 weeks

Thats wonderful. Im curious how many stitches you have at most in order to fit a baby

@@susanrodway6203 hi I used a size 2 needle magic loop to start used baby size in pattern with 8 stitches per inch so I ended up with 24 in each section after increases done I was able to go to a US size 2 12 inch needle and whip it out fairly quickly. I weighed the yarn before starting and what it was right after my increases so I’d know when to decrease on the 2nd 20 gram mini.

That sounds adorable!
I'm making my first Musselburgh hat with two different yarns, and I'm really enjoying the easy process. Thank you so much for your videos! They are so helpful!
Thanks so much for making this video. It’s really helpful as I could not understand what was meant by skimming the stitches inside. Very clear now, and hopefully the rest of my Musselburgh hats will have neater ends. Great pattern!
I’m on my fifth Musselburgh hat. I’ve knit two for myself. One each for my partner and son and this 5th one is for my grandson. Love the pattern and will be knitting more in the future. Thank you for your pattern and helpful tutorials.
I've made 10 and, after seeing this episode, I am ready to cast on another with a skein of Murky Depths yarn I got on a recent trip. It's such a great hat. Thanks, Ysolda!
Thank you for this video and the stamp you’ve had on the knitting community!
Thank you for this simply flexible and great pattern! It's my favorite on-the-go pattern and such a great one for gifts. I'm only on my 3rd one but know there will be future Mbs. I appreciate the version 3 with the description and measurements in order to be creative and make use of stash yarns. 😊
Im making my first and I almost frogged it thinking it looked way to small. So glad I saw this. I will keep plugging away! 😅
Would you consider adding some type of ponytail hole for those with long hair? I always have trouble figuring out what to do with my hair while wearing hats like these - sticking it all inside the hat makes for a giant head :), but hair out and by the neck really gets in the way.
Thank you for the update and tutorial. ❤
These are such good tips, thanks a lot !!!
Starting my second one this weekend. I love your videos!
Love your videos!! I’m on my second Musselburgh hat!!
I knitted a solid + striped half version and because I did not want a folded brim, I opted for one knit row where the transition is before continuing to knit the other half. It folded nicely and stayed put.
Thank you much appreciated
I just bought this pattern and look forward to adding it to my many WIP's😅
Hello from Swansea, Illinois. I purchased your pattern but have not knit it yet, but am going to soon.
Thank you for the boot in the pants, I didn't finish the last one, I was ok in the end with the cast on and the crown increases but the issue I had was the crown just kept going out more and more and never dropped down, almost like a round table cloth. You have inspired me to do another one and keep at it. I have some self striping sock yarn that I can use. I love a challenge and I would call this a challenge. Thank you again, take care and Happy Designing.

You do have to eventually stop the increases. According to your guage and the pattern...

It will eventually turn into a tube if you trust the numbers in the pattern and keep knitting. It takes a few inches past the last increase round before it’s really hat shaped and not a circle though
Thanks so much for the update, I think my next one will be using self-striping yarn. What pattern is your beautiful sweater you have on?
I just started my first one two days also and this video was so much help and answered what I have questions for especially about the increasing and sizes . Thank you for making this video !!!❤❤❤❤❤
I’m halfway done with my first one! Could you comment on the name and the pronunciation? Love the pattern so much and thank you for these tutorials!❤
I make one for all my loved on‘s for Chrismas😂…
Hi, Ysolda. I'm knitting my first Musselburgh. I see why people have fallen in love with the pattern, and I really appreciate your tutorials on getting started and finishing the hat. It took me a number of tries to get the disappearing loop cast-on down, and the tutorial was a lifesaver. Random question: The blue sweater you're wearing in this tutorial is gorgeous. Could you share the pattern, yarn and color? (I did check your Ravelry pages but didn't find it.) I realize that with 16,000-plus followers, you likely don't have time for questions like this, but, either way, many thanks!
