Sister Caroline, welcome to the beautiful religion. HQ Sura Al Baqara 2:256-" Let there be no compulsion in religion. Truth stands clear from error. Who ever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold that never breaks. Allah hears and knows all things". Recently I saw a video of NZ Muslims. We cannot be a good Muslim if we don’t believe in all the prophets in the Quran. Quran has chapter for mother Mary, Surah Maryam 19 th chapter. We believe all as prophets of (God )Allah. And Allah has perfected the Religion of Islam through final Prophet Muhammad peace be up on him.. all 3 major religion came in the same area Middle East. Not in Europe, not in Asia, not in Russia, not in American continent. Muslims must look at the World Map n learn . Islam has now spread to all continents of this earth. Salaams (peace) Samuel, Christians believe that Jesus (peace be upon him) is either God or the son of God. Muslims believe that Jesus was a messenger sent from God and we do not ascribe any divinity to him. This is the crucial difference.
