Musk's China Visit Pays Off With Baidu-Tesla Partnership

Tesla’s Elon Musk made an unannounced trip to China on Sunday, looking for approval for driver-assistance software. The surprise visit appears to have paid off, with Tesla clearing two key hurdles to introduce its driver-assistance system to China. Previously, its unmanned vehicles could only operate from 9 am to 5 pm in the city. The updated scheme is expected to cover one million customers in certain areas of Wuhan, a city of more than 10 million people. Like most autonomous vehicle startups, Baidu combines a mix of third-party cameras, radar and lidar to help its cars see better in low-visibility conditions, in contrast to Tesla’s vision-based solution. In August, Baidu started offering fully driverless robotaxi rides, charging passengers at taxi rates. In Q3, Apollo Go, the firm’s robotaxi hailing app, completed more than 474,000 rides, up 311% year over year. Accumulatively, Apollo Go had exceeded 1.4 million orders as of Q3. TC

Testing FSD in China makes tremendous sense! You see, the great thing about China is that the CCP really doesn’t count how many people are killed by its initiatives or by natural disasters. For example, the CCP didn’t count how many people died of Covid, they don’t count how many people died in floods or fires or explosions or earthquakes, and they didn’t count how many people died from the great leap forward from starvation! As far as FSD in China is concerned, we will never know how many people are run over by Teslas because the CCP simply won’t count them.

For a few years now, it feels like new faces show up as experts on a topic, but they seem to get nervous, their speech rate increases, the sentances don't finish, and there is no point made, clear answer given. TC

Here is some advice don’t be a big talking American if you don’t even know your own American history 👇 IP Theft Is What Once Helped Make America Great That was certainly the case for the United States. The practice of grabbing intellectual property was a staple of U.S. economic strategy since the outset of the nation’s founding. The play Hamilton has brought new and deserved respect to the first secretary of the treasury. But his many economic achievements should not blind us to the fact that theft of intellectual property was a linchpin of his manufacturing strategy. RealClearMarkets

I would not expect you to know the history of their Country if you don’t even know your own history But here is another tidbit fact There is now 27 books printed that says we in the west stole or at the very least copied from the Chinese 👇 Why was China erased from Western memory The remarkable history of Chinese invention - Why was China erased from Western memory? Article by 龙信明 Introduction Joseph Needham was an English medical doctor and biologist, teaching in England in the 1930s. By an accident of fate he acquired some Chinese students, and was intrigued to hear their claims of so many medical and scientific discoveries having originated in China, rather than in the West. Needham became fully fluent in Chinese, and eventually moved to China in 1942 to investigate these claims and to research the entire history of Chinese invention. That work led to an astonishing voyage of historical discovery. Needham originally planned to write a book cataloguing Chinese inventions, but his first volume barely scratched the surface of his subject. He slowly gatherred many of his students into this enterprise, and they eventually wrote a collection of 26 books, to catalog the history of Chinese discovery. Myth and Misrepresentation It leaves one speechless to learn the vast extent of things invented by the Chinese many hundreds of years, and often several millennia, before they appeared in the West.
