In a recent interview he said he was playing violin at age 2. Perhaps he was gathering input while in the womb as his Moms a true professional:) This Grammy win here should prep you for possibly the most amazing Acappella experience of one’s life. Even the group Take 6 is in awe of Jacobs Grammy award ‘Moon River’ feat. Words truly cannot describe the Song. 😊

Flintstones was Jacob's first Grammy Win. The hair "height" indicates each Jacob's tone: High spiky contralto. Low bari. With head cover bass at the end.

Oh yeah. As it is the Christmas season consider Jacob's take on: "The Christmas Song, Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire." Yet another unique take you could not possibly foresee and heck it is the season after all.😉

Haha - looking forward to more (and more!) Jacob Collier reactions! By the way, as far as Grammy's go, he's now been nominated for 9 and he has won 5. For "The Flintstones" he won for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals. In that same year he also won for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Capella for his cover of "You And I". Other Grammy winners for Jacob are for "All Night Long", "Moon River" and "He Won't Hold You".

So glad you did the "Flintstones". Oh and slight crx. This was nominated for a Grammy but it also won that Grammy. Jacob does not-to my knowledge-play violin. But that said his Mom is a classical violinist/conductor and his grandfather was a famous classical violinist. Good genes you might say. Your reactions audio and facial are a hoot. Jacob just sees and hears the world differently than the rest of us. For more totally playful Jacob consider *"Time Alone With You", "Sleeping On My Dreams" and "In My Bones". * Please keep the Jacob coming, so looking forward to it.

I think I may have left this comment on an earlier reaction video, but the BBC recently did a documentary piece on Jacob Collier. It gives a great overview of Jacob and his career so far, if you are interested. "Jacob Collier - In the Room Where it Happens": kzread.info/dash/bejne/d4aqxpeKmtjWg7g.html

Just found your reactions. Great stuff! Jacob Collier was "discovered" by Quincy Jones. Would love to see you react to another tune / group produced by Quincy Jones -- check out Dirty Loops "Work Sh!t Out"

JC is a treasure trove of musical adventures. His performances are sinuous journeys taking the scenic and the emotionally engaging route. His use of weird polyrhythms, plush, extended harmonies, microtonality, shifting roots etc. on the journey can make the eventual return home a glorious re-invention of its previously over familiar self. We rediscover our earliest, childhood musical delights. So I propose you listen and react to some of the latest improvisations he does with others, to see how he shares his explorations. With the phenomenal Chris Thile at the Blue Note with a Beatles song. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qZ13q5iEddHOXbA.html With the audience in Cambridge over a Jamie Cullum song kzread.info/dash/bejne/eXWLy8V8m8bUk6g.html Love what you've done so far with JC, some of the most intelligent yet....
