When I do my reaction videos I don't press pause because I don't want to interrupt the natural flow of the music as it was originally intended by the artist. I try to vocalise my thoughts in real time as I listen to the song, and then summarise my reaction afterwards.

I've been listening to this song repeatedly since it was released (as per usual with Dirty Loops songs), & still hang on that gorgeous unexpected note every damn time. Aside from the glorious wall of sound, I'm always conflicted afterwards by the lyrics. On one hand, a pox on whomever made Jonah (or any other lyrical contributors) feel this "caught up in the pain." And yet on the other hand, kudos to that pain-inducing person who compelled the song to be created. As usual, a conundrum to confound any who choose to dwell upon it, of which I am apparently one. I'm starting to get tangled in my own blasted sentence structure, so well-done, ye Swedish lads.

I appreciate your comment about Henrik's chill here. That's one of my favorite things about him specifically. Even when he's going absolutely ham on the bass, he still does it with such ease and relaxation. I agree that I do tend to like their uptempo stuff a bit more, but I can really appreciate when they pull it back and show different sides of their playing. It's why I love "Ring of Saturn" so much. No vocal. Just music. It's lovely. And I seriously can't wait for you to do "Old Armando Had a Farm". It's so much fun.

Another insightful reaction, Steve. I like that you wait until the end of the song to do a deep dive. Others feel compelled to repeatedly stop (and even replay) the song to make comments about specific parts. That pretty much ruins the continuity. Your observations here were, once again, spot on. Glad you took a moment to comment on Jonah's vocal range. That note he hits at 3:38 is astonishing! My jaw nearly hit the floor the first time I watched the "Breakdown" video and saw/heard him hit and effortlessly sustain that note. Incredible talent! That applies to all of them, by the way. If you haven't yet listened to "Follow The Light" from the Dirty Loops/Cory Wong collaboration, I think you'll really enjoy it.

Steve, it’s so funny (and true), you referring to currently being “physically unable to go without Dirty Loops….” Always loved your references to the connection between music and the body :) And great reaction there again, -really enjoyed it. Breakdown is such a power ballad-. Referring to those great sounding drums (and everything else, too) I think that Simon Petrén mixed and mastered this one and many other DL tracks, and he’s worth checking out: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Petr%C3%A9n More tracks from DL to check out: their early covers and originals from their Loopified LP. Also you’ve mentioned “Rock You” (can’t wait for this one!). Other great ones are Jonah’s solo projects “Coffee Break” and his mad cover of “Bad”, and all the tracks from Dirty Loops’ “Songs for Lovers”, some of them featuring Henrik and Aron alone, and one with all three of them, “Coffee Break’s Over”. Pure fun, not to be missed. Looking forward to continuing the journey with you and Dirty Loops! 👌🙏👌

I really enjoy your reaction to these amazing musicians. I've been on the same rollercoaster ride for 8 or 9 months now. I can't get enough of these guys. And, like you, I would Love to be in this band, simply because they have such a good time together. But, like you said, I'm nowhere talented enough. Please try "Bitten By The Kitten". I think you'll like the bass work.

Really enjoy your reactions. Thoughtful, informed, just a pleasure to watch. Once a week is great, I didn't personally exercise anything like that kind of discipline when I first heard DLoops but I'm glad you can. I know that way that there's always a great reaction waiting for me down the road a bit. Best wishes and thanks. An older Loops song I love is "Wake Me Up". It encompasses both the ballady and way-up tempo sides of Dirty Loops. This doesn't get as many looks as a lot of their other songs but I think is great in it's unexpected way. Think about it and thanks again.

Steve: he's way up there in the notes! Jonah: hold my beer for a sec...watch this I started to give you a little info on Breakdown when I knew you were covering it but decided to let you find out for yourself. It's their only slow song and while each song of theirs seems to have bass or drum "show off" moments, this one does it with Jonah's vocals. I don't know what note that was that he hit but damn, it was high AF. Thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and analysis of this one. As far as which one next, Bitten By The Kitten would be a great one.
