Mitch changes his look all the time .

Not sure if you really caught it when you read the dates, but this was shot at their concert September 28th, 2022. So it's just about a month old... very current.

He"s had that mustache for a while now. Im ready for him to shave it. Lol I love Mitch too but then again I love all of them. Every song Im like oh wow Scott did so good oh wait Keven blew me away oh I love Kristen Oh Avi oh Matt. Lol so Its hard to pick a favorite for me. They all shine on different songs. Im glad you are enjoying them. I was bless to see them at this concert. Live is just as good as the tracks. So much fun. I wish I was seeing them at their Christmas concert coming soon. New Christmas album being dropped on October 28th. Cant wait!!!

They all have long ranges.. Scott (the tall blond) can sing bass to tenor. He has a 5 octaves range. Mitch is a counter tenor. Experts have claim that Mitch's voice only comes along once in a generation Kirtin is a Mezo Sparano. She also has a wide range. Matt the bass can also hit tenor . Then of course the all talented beat boxer. The list of his abilities and achievements is long. Pentatonix has won 3 grammys. When on tour, the venues they perform at Re sold out within a couple days. And recently they were informed that they will have a star placed on The Walk of Fame.

I think with their training, permanent vocal coaching from time to time, experience in studio and performing they all have nowadays full 6 octaves ranges. Mitch and Kirstin for sure, Scott very likely, Matt with his now better lower range (since in PTX) has it also. And Kevin, natural tenor voice and beatboxing very low? And the nice thing is, they are all kind of perfectionists. When they realise they have some bad habits or problems they always approach somebody to get better. Crazy talent, humble people they are, our PTX Unicorns. Greetings from Germany

Oh, and don't forget that the 28th of October is now officially Pentatonix Day in LA. They anounced it via Instagram story

Each one is a musical unicorn! They all have other projects going on too. Scott, the tall blond, and Mitch had a you tube channel called Superfruit. It started out as humorous vlogging and move into musical skits that hilarious and the vocals sublime. They started into musical collaborations with other immensely talented performers, then covers, evolution and Medleys just the two of them in front of a mic. The vocal range, control and synergy between these two is like nothing else! They have been singing together (along with Kirstin, the female member of PTX) since they were eight years old. They then moved into an all original album called Future Friends which is just incredible! Just some suggestions from Superfruit are Rise, Feeling Myself, Empire Medley, Evolution of Lady Gaga, Beyonce Medley, Anti Medley. In a more hilarious vein are Hip Hop Goes Broadway 1 & 2, Wicked, Frozen Medley and GUY.EXE from their Future Friend album (and every other sing from Future Friends. Superfruit alone is a deep and very rewarding rabbit hole of amazing talent! Don't even get me started on Kevin, the beat boxer who is a master cello and saxophone player (played both at Carnegie Hall when he was 17). He coined the term Cello boxing with his ability to do both at the same time. He is an amazing writer, arranger and producer with a beautiful tenor voice. Oh, and then him being a pre med Yale University graduate on his way to Yale Med school when he got invited to join PTX. He speaks multiple languages fluently using his fluent Mandarin to work in the Chinese American Embassy as a young man. He plays piano and drums as well. His brain is wired differently than most and he is a musical genius. Check out his cover of Marion Hill's song Down. It is mind melting Kirstin has some beautiful solo songs, has starred on Broadway in a production of Kinky Boots. She is an amazing song writer! She started out with great vocals that just get better and better and better over the years. And, Avi, (the bass guy with the beard)! Good Lort! don't even get me started about his solo career since leaving PTX in 2017. He is currently on tour. He recently released an album of his originals callef Floating on a Dream. Every single song on it is divine. My current musical obsession is his song I'm Only Getting Started which I listen to most mornings to pump me up for the day. He has a bunch of other solo work. His songs and that voice of his are a gift. OK, I'll shut up for now. Saying that you have just barely scratched the surface of the talent contained in Pentatonix is such an understatement. I can't wait to see more of your reactions to all of them! Just subbed.

This was their finale at the Hollywood Bowl. Mitch just has a mustache right now. I'm psyched you're checking it out live! I do love their live versions, more, though the music video was really good.

Yeah, he has a mustache from time to time, has had this one for many months. His dad has one as well. Doubt it's to cosplay Freddie, haha

I've seen them live three times over the years and have been a fan since I saw them perform the first time on The Sing Off. Their live performances blow me away every time.

I never saw Queen attempt to do the first portion of Bo-Rhap live since Freddie did all the harmonious voices. It's really difficult to get that close to Queens recorded version live.

I am so excited for their tour, which starts November 17th (21 days and counting) and I have tickets to that show in Oakland. It’s a Christmas/Holiday tour, so I doubt they’ll do this song, but their Christmas music is epic as well. I can’t wait to see them perform Joyful Joyful live!

@@sharonsmith5296 really I dont know. They have changed the arrangement a little bit to fit Matt in . And both versions are really good. So, depends on the person who is listening. Avi and Matt are great singers and each of them fits in PTX vocals and as persons. To have the same chemistriy with both of dem is more then a little wonder and it's a wonderful thing. They are just very different great persons and singers. Greetings from Germany

so cool that you do so many reactions so quickly! one thing you will definitely notice is that Mitch changes his look all the time (Kirstie does too) but they are both always there, the only switch was when avi left for personal reasons in 2017 and Matt joined. Highly recommend Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and some of their Evolution it's like Evolution of Ariana Grande and Evolution of Rhianna :) also a really good live to check out is their 2016 popspring concert video that has 4 songs and is around 15 mins

This was the first live version of Bohemian Rhapsody by PTX I've heard and I am shocked at how good it is live. Queen wasn't able to do the entire song live due to the studio effects needed for their version.

The thing that I find fascinating is that Mitch is able to do on his own what it took 3 members of Queen to pull off. He sings lead, he hits the high note and he does the guitar solo. I always thought Freddie mercury sang the high note until I saw the Queen movie showing that it was their drummer that hit that note.

@@victorluke5816 That's the part I'm talking about the very high note that he while he's standing on the couch. Freddie mercury couldn't sing that part. They had their drummer do it. I was just saying Mitch by himself did what 3 members of queen did. I'm aware kirstie can sing as high. Mitch does it more because he's more consistent at being able to hit the high stuff night after night.

The mustache is not makeup, he can actually grow it. He did not have it for the original video. That might have been creepy. Mitch might be Freddie reincarnated. Mitch was born seven months after Freddie died.

Mitch has worn a mustache at various times over the years. It’s not just because Freddie Mercury had one.

Mitch's singing is effortless. It blows me away! I did know that term was Arabic! They didn't want Freddie to use it in the song. Scott does sing much more physically and animated than Mitch. Scott covers the bass lines in other songs when the Bass is singing lead. Thanks for digging in so fast! LOVE IT.

yes, lots of people have commented in these threads on all the symbolism in the BR video that they did, and also often mention that the term is Arabic, Freddie's nod to his heritage

Yeah i heard it a lot in Iraq and I was like hmmmm the Iraqi i asked said it was "in the name of God" roughly translated!

Freddie used it to remember Zanzibar.

The band members have all branched out in different ways. Scott Hoying, the tall blond who did a lap around the semicircle, just recently released a solo original called Mars. I'm glad you compared the two...live and music video (and on the same day, too!). IMO, the music vid is a bit more polished (and I believe the bullhorn is just a prop...not functional) whereas the live shows more individual evolution and energy. (There is quite a story behind the music video production). PTX is brilliant in almost everything they do. Your style of reacting is unique as well....great job.

Bismillah is the 1st word of the Quran. It translates to "In the name of Allah". So happy there is finally a good quality (looks like it was done by professionals) recording of them singing this live. We can finally point reactors to this one when we want them to know Mitch does the perfectly executed "guitar solo" without the help of a bull horn. And he hits every single note perfectly & crisply. No slurring the notes at all. Thanks. I've enjoyed watching you discover & explore the PTX rabbit hole 🕳.
