Loved this reaction, Luke...but I always do love your PTX reactions. The group put out their newest Christmas album last month and it has some Older greatest hits ( Christmas songs) and about 8 new ones, including Kiss From A Rose ( Seal cover) and O Holy Night...which will blow your socks off! I think in this concert Pentatonix had a choir performing with them. Those would be the people in white robes. Pentatonix goes to great lengths to take care of their voices. Part of that is hydration; they drink huge amounts of water, and have water bottles on stage so they can drink during performances. I saw an interview where Kevin pointed out that one side effect of drinking so much water is burping, and said that he's figured out ways to incorporate burps into his beatboxing. Kirstie gave him a dirty look. 😄

Thanks Luke for once again doing PTX. I just looked through your playlist and it looks like you've not done the Sing Off! Performances where the group first got started. It's season 3 and there's are something like 13 episodes there. You also haven't done their stint on The Masked Singer. There's a video out there on KZread with a compilation of all the performances they did as the California Roll this year that you'd probably enjoy - especially the finale of Creep. But one that I think would be of great interest to you is the documentary of The Making of Evergreen from 2021. This is their Christmas album that was nominated for a 2023 Grammy. It's about 17 minutes long, but well worth watching. The camera follows them in the studio for the 14 days of production on that album. It's an amazing view into their creative process, how they work with each other and with their crew. I'm positive it is something you'd absolutely be riveted by. And we'd love to watch you as you discover yet another aspect of their genius. Finally, I don't see that you've seen White Winter Hymnal either, and it is also amazing. Have fun!

HI LUKE! Great to see you again. I live 20 minutes away from the Hollywood Bowl but couldn’t go. 😔 Due to health issues I can’t be in large crowds. 😥 I had several friends that went and I got to see some of their videos. Also the fact that this whole concert was professionally recorded made me SO HAPPY!! They do get some breaks during the show. Kevin’s 5th and some fun with Kevin and Matt with the crowd gives the trio a chance to rest their voices for awhile. But towards the end of their tours is when their voices get tired, but they still give as amazing of shows as at the beginning. Also nowadays they are incorporating more instruments into their shows. On their LUCKY ONES album they have instruments on some of their songs. I actually just rewatched your journey with them and laughed so much on your first one. 😂😂😂 I think I’ve watched every reactor on KZread now and am rewatching my favorite reactors again. Your one of my all time favorites. I’ve been a Pentaholic since the beginning and they still blow me away. Love you 🤗💋🥰 looking forward to your next PTX reaction.

I was there, and yes, it was AMAZING. I also saw them again two months ago in Irvine (both times with my 80+ disabled landlord). SHE insisted that we go see them both times after I forced her to watch the "Hallelujah" video last summer. Getting to the Hollywood Bowl was quite the adventure from where we live (walking distance from Disneyland, so we took multiple freeways during rush hour and then a shuttle bus, after which just getting an ambulatory-challenged person to our seats was a challenge), but it was all worth it 😁. The concert in September was a breeze in comparison.

Their rendition is so incredible! The choir is a great touch. Proves that they can do everything without help including the megaphone used in the video. You need to check out Carol of the Bells…this is number 5 on their most listened video and my favorite song from them. Others to check out are Kid on Christmas, Please Santa Please and Up on the Housetop! Thank you for making my day with your reactions!

You might want to watch early episodes of the season where Pentatonix was on the Sing Off TV show. They shown background clips of the members before they became famous. Pentatonix also has videos of the making of their Evergreen Christmas album and filming of their Bohemian Rhapsody video.

One of my favorite songs by PTX is White Winter Hymnal. It's super short, but it's absolutely one of those that you will find stuck in your head (in the best way) for the rest of the day. The rhythm, the movements, ALL OF IT IS THE BEST.

What you said about the members of Pentatonix being fated to sing together is so spot on. The perfect blend of voices and personalities. I agree with you- “perfection”.

The first time I saw them was several years ago at contest that they won. They sang Born to be wild. They were like 18 yrs old.

You have GOT to review "Kiss From A Rose" from the PTX Christmas album. This is taking it to a whole new level, not just for Pentatonix, but for ANY musical group. I don't know why it's on a Christmas album, it is not a Christmas song, but for whatever reason, it is GOBSMACKED GOOD!

The energy in the crowd with this song is WILD!! I love all your reactions but the PTX reactions have a special space in my heart. Their new Christmas album dropped last month and they're nominated for another Grammy. The singers in the crowd, Scott tasked an arranger (I think) who I'm pretty sure is an alumn from A cappella academy ,the program run by Avi Kaplan + Ben Bram & Shams Ahmed (the same 2 people Scott founded citizen queen and acapop with). The singers in the isles were all alumns from there and/or the a cappella group at USC (where Scott went his one year in college). I went to Matt's first tour in 2018, and this song was the encore.

Part of the reason everyone does Bo Rhap differently from the original is because it would be very difficult. I believe that even Queen skirted around the more difficult parts when doing live performances of the song. (Source: falling memory of sleeve notes for Live Killers CD).

People have to do their own versions because nobody could do Queen's version.... And the thing is PTX never, ever disappoints. They are so committed to excellence, a work ethic, and such powerful friends that everything they do literally surpasses expectations.

Since you enjoy vocal groups and harmonies so much, I think you would get a kick out of Moon River by Jacob Collier. Waves of harmonies, a kaleidoscopic video all done by one young man. He got a Grammy for it. And he's another rabbit hole. I speak as a Pentaholic so you know I have an ear for a good thing. Indulge yourself.

Want to get blown away try Angelina Jordan. Especially her early ones when she was a child or young teen. She did bohemian rhapsody at America’s Got Talent and her version of I put a spell on you at 9 years old!

I have heard every song they have done (to my knowledge anyway) and am now reliving it all again through reactors and I am here to say you will be blown away MANY more times. They have so many covers, but then you add all their Christmas ones and and originals...well you could be at it forever!!! I know you do a lot of anime and other things, plus Twitch, but have you ever thought of maybe doing one Pentatonix reaction a week and make like a Pentatonix Monday or whatever day? Another reactor I watch does that and is wonderful!! Just one song, but it helps guide her through their catalog and well lets face it, there is no complaints from the Pentaholics 😉 Regardless...still love your enthusiastic reactions!!!!

The concentration comes as a second nature for them. They are not even trying. They are having fun. (Which is the way is supposed to be.) Freddy would had been very proud. He found the fun in his craft as well...

If you're looking for holiday songs that are originals. I recommended Evergreen or a Star on top ( Holidays around the world). Both these albums were nominated for a Grammy.

I watched this concert from the pay-per-view stream and wished I could have been there. It ended up being a kind of 10-year PTX career retrospective (or 11 year, I suppose). The videos from it are all fan-posted, either recorded at the concert or captured from the stream, so shouldn't have a problem with block. During the concert, they did an "Evolution of Pentatonix" that was a brief summary of their career.

You need to check out their Sing Off version of Video Killed the Radio Star. It's awesome

*Day 185* of recommending the *Beyblade openings* . There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
