I’d love to hear your reaction to his covers of: Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar; Nessun Dorma (full opera, no metal) by Puccini; and Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera. Hail VascNation ❤He is classically trained and does a phenomenal job with whatever song he performs. It’s as if he fully immerses himself into the song. Oh he does a lot of 80’s covers! Side note: my 22yo son is a very talented saxophonist and still takes lessons to this day. He’s going in to nursing as a career but chose to continue his Saxophone lessons.

Dan is amazing! Check out his version of Amazing Grace and I’ll Make a Man Out of You from Disney’s Mulan. Dan can sing anything and that is not an exaggeration! He sings Nessum Dorma and it gives you goosebumps. He sings Angels We Have Heard on High in four different languages. His version of O Holy Night is awesome and a little surprising. If you like 80’s music, he does a lot of Journey and Bon Jovi covers. His version of Kiss From a Rose that he collaborates with a female singer, Violet Orlandi, is absolutely beautiful! hi jennifer. loved your reaction. watching first time reactors listen to dan is so fun. there was not doubt that 15 seconds after your disclaimer about not being into that kind of music that you were impressed and totally enjoying it. it is exactly what happened to most of us. i think the next step for you is to listen to "nessun dorma" looking forward to your next reaction.

A little detail, Dan famously despises sad songs (I'm with him), so I can see him and Garret go, screw the maudlin mood, we'll make it into a power metal anthem to love! 😁😁 You'll probably enjoy some more power metal, it's been described as evil musical theater, because it's so dramatic and so full of classical influence. Try Dawn of Victory, ft. Fabio Lione (one of the great vocalists) and Dan's band Fearless. For more conventional approaches to a love song, A Tale That Wasn't Right and Kiss From a Rose ft. Violet Orlandi. For something in between, the fabulous Fairy Tale. Stick with Dan and us, we'll make a metal head out of you yet. Dan is classically trained and has unbelievable breath control.He sings from all genres and guess what... He sings "The Music of the Night" from Phantom of the Opera. He also duets with a female artist in "Phantom of the Opera. Also "Gethsemane" from Jesus Christ Superstar. Dan could definitely have gone the Broadway route if he'd so wished. I'm sure someone else will inform you of the route he chose to take and why. His "Nessun Dorma" is fabulous. Dan has a super 80's playlist. There are many subscribers who never liked Metal music but have since been "converted"😉There are different kinds of Metal music and a lot of his covers are symphonic power metal. I adore Dan Vasc. I never liked metal of any kind until my college aged daughter introduced me to Nightwish over twenty years ago. It's the symphonic metal with its complexity that I so love!

@@betht60 I've always loved "hard rock" and "progressive metal" since about the age of 14 but I must say I've come to appreciate the "symphonic metal" in a big way!

This redesign of this song is a bit of a wild ride, but it makes it very fun. I haven't found a song Dan has done that I don't like. I'm sure you will find plenty of songs you will recognize on his playlist.

I'm glad you found Dan Vasc. Dan is a Brazilian metal singer, composer and youtuber. He is incredibly versatile and has a catalog of over 200 covers from metal to opera and everything in between. Dan recently reached his goal of 1 million subscribers. Be curious and let yourself be surprised. A good place to start would be "Amazing Grace", the best version I've ever heard. I am 65, never was into that kind of music, but there is something about Dan's singing that hooks you in. Some of his heavier metal I'm not a huge fan of, but Dan is a very versatile singer and can sing about every genre, including opera. I love his growls and screams! He is classically trained and was a voice coach for awhile. I found him when I found Metal singer sings Amazing Grace! It's the best version I have ever heard! 😍

Might I suggest you watch Dan's performance of 'I'll Make a Man Out of You' from Disney's Mulan? He does great at whatever he sings. Some he adds a little metal, some he just sings as it was originally done. His talent and range are phenomenal. Others are, 'A Million Dreams', or 'Wuthering Heights'.

You are going to love this guy ! Everything he sings he blows it out the water. He is truly EPIC !!!!!!

Welcome to Dan's Rabbit Hole. You like Broadway? Try these by Dan; Phantom of the Opera, Gethsamene, Nessun Dorma. He has classical training. He does different genres and his vocal range is out of this world. Dan is cautious about his vocal health. His pronunciation of words while singing is great. I get tired of having to strain my ears to understand what's being said with other singers. For some heavy metal screams and growls try BRING ME TO LIFE. Wait towards the end. I know it's not your thing but this is amazing and I think, to say the least, you will find it interesting When I seen it I thought, oh man he's gonna pop. He can (truly!) sing almost anything, in any range and in any style. He has the most beautiful, most expressive, and most versatile male voice I've heard in many years, with power and charisma to burn (and I’m a long-time opera lover). He sings anything that appeals to him, from folk to ballads, to Disney cartoons, to Broadway, to 80s covers, to opera, but his real love is metal and hard rock. My favorite Dan songs are his own "metalized" arrangements of non-metal songs, which really showcase his creativity and musical wizardry, like his versions of I'll Make a Man out of You (from Mulan), A Kiss from a Rose (duet, of Seal's song), several Christmas songs (my favorite is Angels We Have Heard on High), and the stunning Amazing Grace. Enjoyed your reaction. Even when Dan does a metal "fry scream" it still sounds musical. He can (and does) sing everything from opera to heavy metal, though his favorite genre is symphonic metal. He could sing the phone book and it would still be phenomenal. If you want to check out an acoustic cover that he does, try "Priscilla's Song" acoustic version. (He has a metal version of the same song.) Or check out his "Amazing Grace" - which was my first introduction to Dan last year, and I was immediately hooked. Head down the Dan Vasc rabbit hole. Start with his Journey covers - especially "Faithfully" and "Don't Stop Believing." TOTO, QUEEN, BON JOVI, GUNS 'N' ROSES and even LED ZEPPLIN'S Immigrant Song and Stairway To Heaven. He doesn't always metalize everything, but metal is his preferred genre. I think you already have quite a few suggestions, but there is a tamer side to Dan. "Scarborough Fair" and "Loch Lomond."

Dan has such a unique ability of incorporating flawlessly whichever style the song calls for. For instance, in this song he uses the sublets of symphonic, speed, power, and even a note of screamo. In some songs he even adds some death core notes. There's more to metal than what meets the eye. Then, of course, the guitar solo's, etc. Distortions. Oh gosh, there are so many outlets they use for expressing their souls. Great reaction! I'm so happy you discovered Dan! (& Victor).
