    I think that, independent of meaning, both wordings have commas. I am not sure, because I'm basing that on my native language's grammar, which is not English, but, since "technically", in the first case, should be after the verb in the direct order, and in the wording you had it's in the beginning of the sentence, you should put a comma anyway.

  • @hiTocopter

    @hiTocopter

    @@CesarDainezi Sure, but you wouldn't phrase it like that if you were being formal in the first case, anyway, so it's a moot point. It's done for emphasis here, and it works. Ain't nothing wrong with it.

    Her growls are all false fold. She's said in interviews that she got her sound after more than a decade of practice. If you see her in interviews and, to an extent, any live streams she does, she's reserved, holds back, lets the other band members take control, but when she gets behind a mic...you CAN NOT look away from her. The transformation she undergoes, the joy she has on stage performing, it's beautiful.

    Tatiana is self trained. She’s not harming her vocal cords at all. Tatiana uses her false vocal cords for growling. For most people this technique takes many years to learn. Tatiana is in a league of her own when it comes to false cord and singing. Now if you want to hear the queen of false cord growling then check out Arch Enemy Nemesis Live in Tokyo 2008 Singer Angela Gossow. 🤘

    @@eatfrenchfries1 Vlad is more like a quantum leap in the dynamics department. Every Jinjer drummer has had something great to offer, and a bonus to deep listening to the whole discography is seeing how those differences have always influenced the rest of the compositions. The early stuff is really high energy and musically challenging in a punk-like way. King of Everything shows a clear upgrade in the drum kit sound quality (the drummer for that album now works studio production with the band, especially drums - his career choice). And then there's Vlad the Maestro who honors all of it while finding ways to make it even better on a hilariously small kit.

It's outstanding to be sure and great example of what hardcore music is compared the many other styles Jinjer incorporates. Very aggressive and straight forward. It's really hard to rank Jinjer songs: they're ALL so good.

    How do they write their songs? That question has been asked to death in interviews, I can't remember specific ones, but look on KZread and you will find one. Basically the boys do some brainstorming, work out some riffs, eventually they have a rough instrumental version of the song. They give it to Tatiana, she listens to it, thinks about how it makes her feel, goes off and writes lyrics. When her lyrics are done she goes into the studio and improvises some vocals. She said that on most songs she goes with the first or second take. After that point they may may make a few minor adjustments, but that's pretty much it.

    The song is from the album cloud factory, which is heavily themed around environmental issues- If those themes are of interest then I can highly recommend the song with the same name as the album too. Preferably the official video in this case, but the official live version is also alright, just not the best audio quality. This specific song is a call for action and protest, for us to do our part, for us to raise our voice against the things that go wrong, and that each and every one of us can be the first one to raise their voice, instead of having to wait for someone else to do it. The bit at the end basically says that no matter what kind of live you lived, that you can change and have a proper / better future.

    How they write. Roman and Eugene (guitarist and bassist) compose the songs. They send the partially completed songs to Tati. She sits on them for a few weeks feeling them out so she can write the lyrics and decide what parts she'll growl and sing clean. She then gets back with Roman and Eugene, and they go into the studio where Max Morton, their producer, puts his magic touch on the songs. He does stuff like put distortion in Tati's headphones to mimic the sound of an audience so that she'll sound the same to herself in studio as she does live. Seriously, there are lots of other female vocalists who do the same. Alissa White-Gluz of Arch Enemy, for instance. They're even more popular than Jinjer. Check out their song, "The Eagle Flies Alone." The difference with Tati is she has that sultry, sexy jazzy voice whereas all the other chicks like Alissa sound closer to opera singers when they do their cleans.

    Alissa has different styles she can use, doubt she's as flexible as Tati but still pretty good. Reason To Believe includes some clean screaming that is very reminiscent of Axl Rose.

    The guys write the music and then hand it off to Tati who writes not only the lyrics (sometimes with the help Eugene, the bassist) but the melody! I find this amazing (among other things she does) because she has little musical knowledge and can barely play a guitar to help her compose. She's really a shy, reluctant musician that you'd never suspect would rather be alone in her room than in front of people. She hates interviews, too. But she knows her success is undeniable and is taking her into the stratosphere. So I'll bet, inside, she really digs performing, the adulation and, finally after so much hard work over more than 10 years, the recognition.

    You get it! They are a BAND. Symbiotic. Brilliant individually, brilliant together. I have seen them live in Adelaide before Covid hit, their stage presence is organically inclusive insofar as we all share the same moment. They share their art on stage. It's hard to explain. They were also Ukrainian domestic refugees in about 2014 - they have had it tough. Which makes them humble I think - they don't have egos to prove, they seem untouched by all the classic musician egos. The best part is that each time I listen to one of their songs I hear something new. That is rare. :)

    "They're greater than the sum of their parts". That sums up Jinjer perfectly, and it sets them apart from so many bands. The way they function together-complete disregard for ego, yet tons of space for individual talent and creativity- that's their magical superpower. There's no way not to fall for Jinjer, if you have the slightest understanding of how music works.

    She really is a bad ass. I truly think she is one of the top 20, maybe even 10, frontpeople of all time. Her stage presence is other worldly. She reminds me of Robert Plant, obviously not in sound, but the way she commands your attention with her confidence and energy.

    That Amy Winehouse transition at the end caught me by surprise too))) which showed the range of her vocal abilities! of course, she is trained to do that deep growl without destroying her vocal cords, that ability to switch back and forth is amazing, not every singer or vocal couch can do that!)) and yes, the bass player is fantastic, he kept going throughout the whole time. Take away the guitar chugging and you have a massive groove))) That band is something else...

    Setting Tatiana aside the musicians are technically brilliant! In saying that I am of the opinion they can play anything! If you are looking a recommendation to what to listen to next, where do I start!! I would recommend my personal favourite "retrospection" , reason being it reflects on her family and homeland of Donetsk in Ukraine and after spending 6 years in the country during the on going conflict I can appreciate the song!! Yes Retrospection or my other fav I speak astronomy!! Good reaction by the way and on another note its Kyiv not Kiev, the locals get a bit agitated over this 😎

    You're curious about their song writing process...the guys come up with the song and the final stage is tati writing the lyrics. She may have song themes etc in mind but it's the music that then inspires the lyrics. I love that. Can you imagine? I would love to be a fly on the wall when they first hear what she came up with.
