"this whole labeling of styles doesn't give me freedom of listening as a listener." This is the best single sentence I have heard all year. What a fantastic way to approach music and one that we all need to embrace in my opinion.

Not kidding, really, but look at her chest movement when she growls. She exhales at ONE all the time. Masterful.

On another look, it might be an exclamation mark at the end, not a h. Maybe, it's hard to tell but I fucking love it either way hahaha
Listen to Jinjer - Beggar's Dance for a full jazzy song. Also, their song "Home Back" has this amazing jazzy section in 7/8 followed by the most brutal screams she's ever done. It's about them fleeing their homes as Refugees.

I'd say that middle section at "the tea party" was more bossa nova than just jazz. It has that cool altered/syncopated feel of bossa nova - just so smooth... ... until there's fire in the hole.

Thanks. I used to tolerate the growls because the music and her singing voice were so Awesome. Now I've grown to love her growls too just like distortion on a guitar. Her phrasing is also rythmically interesting.

Same here. At first I only watch their videos for the reactors shock but they starting growing on me. I now have every album and I can't wait for the live thats soon coming out! What I love most is that her growls are so clear to understand what she's saying and she is not growling in monotone.

I think it's because they don't over-do them and they're not out of place. Jinjer isn't tone-deaf to the usage of it unlike a lot of other bands. A lot of the 90's metal I listen to go fairly heavy on the growls, and it can get repetitive even for me when the growls are not used to emphasize an emotion but the singer is doing it because they're locked to the genre.
Should check out "Bad Water" its all clean vocals and is actually my favorite song from Jinjer!
Absolutely love seeing you, a professional musician, fanboying over Jinjer! 😄
I'm glad you actually like them instead of us watching another video of someone thinking it's a joke. My own mother can't be convinced this is music. Funny considering in my opinion she is one of the all time great rock vocalists. Her tone, pitch, rhythm, and enunciation are all top notch and indicative of a true master.

Tatiana is a monster! and so as the band...there is no bad tracks
This BAND is so tight!!! I could listen to Tatiana sing the Dictionary!!!! It's time to do "Outlander"
Fun reaction. It looks like it is at her bf Alex Lopez's house rather than at a studio, since that's his cat. For jazz, check out Beggar's Dance though it is just an under 3-minute outro song with no video, it is well-loved and always puts a smile on my face. Also, an older song Exposed As A Liar has extended jazzy cleans that sound like they should be performed in a sequin dress in front of a black-tie crowd - combined with death growls, as one does. Maybe a double feature since the one is so short and doesn't have a video? ;) There is a live video of Exposed As A Liar in the form of the "Crowd Factory DVD Trailer."

How the fuck am I 3 years late to these videos. Great reactions! Tatiana is in Warsaw, Poland right now recording the vocals for the next album. She has been posting on IG about it. You'll have to revisit them soon. Did you ever get to see them live since these videos? Such a fantastic live band. Last time I saw them in September 2023 was my 12 year old son's first real concert. From parents who saw Mahavisnu Orchestra live and got me into fusion-jazz, classic jazz, classic rock, funk and new wave as a kid, to spending countless nights in DC seeing punk and hardcore shows in the 80s and 90s and seeing reggae shows, jazz, funk, hip hop, go-go, metal, honkey-tonk, etc live, Jinjer ranks right up there with the best of them for live performances. Rock on.
Ohhh hell. I just lost it at 'fuck it we'll do it live!'

omg, good call - I forgot that one! a bit of background, it is about being forced to leave their homes due to the war and their hometown getting bombed. No official video yet, but toward the end of the year they will be releasing a live album and hopefully also DVD from Melbourne this spring so hopefully we'll get a high-quality live video then - in addition to the jazzy part, it is one of their 3 songs with Tatiana's most savage growls, the others being Who Is Gonna Be The One and Pit Of Consciousness with the live in Kiev version of that one being the one that reallly shows off her growls to greatest effect compared to the studio version. The studio version and official video are fire but omg the live performance video is incredible.

@@j.f.fisher5318 The entire Melbourne show is already uploaded but unlisted on another channel, which was apparently part of a live stream. Probably not worth for a reaction because of potential copyright strikes though.
Yes!! Listen to "Home back" . There are some great jazzy vocals. Also she does have an Amy Winehouse/Frida tattoo on her arm. ......idols of hers.
This version is so damn good I'm always shocked when the album version plays, she has certainly learned a lot since...
If you like fusion and mixing influences you can check Igorrr it's an incredible mashup of classical, baroque, electro, metal and many more styles. Cheval, ieud are the most reacted to. Parpaing from their last album is a featuring with Corpsegrinder is also a solid track.
JINJER is an onomatopoeia for the sound of the guitar :p
Periphery and Veil of Maya!
everybody who knew the song: the first pause was so perfect but yet hit so hard
If you want to hear her sing clean, there are two tracks that bookend the King Of Everything album called Prologue and Beggers Dance. She also has done a duet with Suicide Silence covering Man In The Box (originally by Alice In Chains). She does a great job with it, and sings fairly clean too.

Awesome video as usual. I'm glad you're enj Jinjer as much as I am. Hope to see more from them on your channel in the future.
If you want Jinjer jazz, check out Beggar's Dance off of King of Everything. That's Tati's big No Doubt indulgence with a hefty helping of jazzy fun.
Absolute fire of a performance and an amazing song altogether! A perfectly pulled off and brilliantly executed mashup of two very different genres. It´s Jinjer, whatelse!
The band did produce a Jazz type song it's called Beggars Dance
She hesitated between jazz and metal at the beginning. It’s why she is what she is.

That intro was funny and awesome at the same time. From a wannabe musician: Your Jinjer reaction videos are a blast to watch!
Beggars Dance is a jazzy tune! Also “home back” also has jazz mixed with extreme growls one of my favorite songs of theirs but there’s no video. What I love about Jinjer is that if they weren’t such good musicians then the mixed genres could sound corny but the way they incorporate it into their songs are so seamless that it just works.
Please make a react video of JINJER - Retrospection (Official Video), it is my favorite Jinjer song :) Lyrics are so good

Booyah parties were a thing in the 70's and 80's in the upper midwest. They take a long time to cook so there was day drinking, then night drinking, then day drinking again involved.
"Twelve Foot Ninja" is another band that mixes different styles with a metal vibe. Check them out, when you get the time.

The best comment I've heard from another video was "You can't combine reggae and metal. Tatiana: hold my cat." 🤣🤣
I'm not a jazz expert but i think your looking for "Beggers Dance"
JAZZ YOU SAY?!?! Listen to home back by them! You’ll get pretty close to jazz
Watch their live video of the song Bad Water. No growls or screams..just her clean groovy vocals. Amazing song
For clean vocals (no screaming), listen to Bad Water. For jazz, check out Beggar's Dance.
She's awesome and sings so powerful for being 5 foot nothing. I'd like to suggest another 2 bands. Nightwish and Epica. With Nightwish you should start with the live shows. Both bands are incredible.
🤩🤩🤩
I feel like you would love unleash the archers! Definitely give a listen to some of their popular music videos
so you had a pop-up saying that Jinjer means maiden, but the band has said the name is an onomatopoeia for the guitar sound, kind of like the genre "djent"
her "regular voice". In metal, we say 'clean' and 'harsh'
Speaking jazzy, beggars dance has been mentioned but Surprised I didn’t stumble Across anyone stating Tatianas influences from Amy winehouse ....awesome fair reaction as usual sir!
Love your reactions. Please consider Unleash the Archers - "Awakening" - Full band playthrough and Nightwish "Ghost Love Score" - Official Live. These two plus Jinjer "Pisces" are the trifecta of metal reactions.
Fucking hilarious reaction.
On the top and pit of consciousness live in Kiev
To describe Jinjer i think it was the youtube reactor Chase Carneson that cornered the phrase "Just Jinjer doing Jinjer things"
Booya is an old term i use to hear in Ragge and used in slang back in the 90's, it was just a term like hell yea
OMG! You know about Sarah Vaughn!!! *Subs* I grew up listening to Jazz and the blues, but I'm also a metalhead.
At the end of who’s going to be the one, Tatiana goes into a Jazz finish. Check it out.
Check out BEGGARS DANCE by them...its pretty jazzy n all clean vocals !!
Beggars dance by jinjer is full jazzy vibes
Let's go for Falling in Reverse all the way!!!! Great job analysing, really unique reactions from a professional!
Suggestion - TesseracT - Daniel Tompkins - Smile and The Arrow (from Sonder) - Live vocal performance 2020
You should take a look at SpiritBox - rule of nines since you like Jinjer. She's got some scream pipes on her as well. Tatiana is still queen, but Courtney LaPlante is up there as a princess lol.
👍
Check out Twelve Foot Ninja!
you are the reason
Lets get some Opeth on here!
Or to Unleash The Archers - Awakening Unleash The Archers - Abyss
The comment about getting your head out of the sand 😂
This isn't even my style of music generally, but Jinjer I really fuck with. Her talent is on another level. Imagine if she could do a song with Chester Bennington? RIP
Jinjer beggars dance plz its so jazzy so good 🥺
They name you once in their Instagram Stories!!! You must interview them man.
You need to check out Chris Turner from Oceans Ate Alaska
Sorry to "burst your bubble" but the name Jinjer derives from no language. None of the current band members know where the name originated from or what it means, although there's a belief among them that it's the onomatopoeia of a chug from a downtuned, distorted guitar sound. : ) _Booyah!_ is not a word used specifically in Ukraine (without the "the", please). Quite the opposite, it's mostly used in English-speaking countries. You keep saying "studio" but this video was probably (with a 99% probability) recorded at Suicide Silence's rehearsal room, with just a black curtain separating the mic and the camera from the rest of their instruments.

You need to check Salt+Charcoal from Plini 👌🏽
She is the female version of Devin Townsend, imo....I don't care for women who growl but I made an exception for her. The whole band is Incredible.
You should check out Nightwish. Another style of metal I think you would like. Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013 is a pretty amazing live performance. One of the best I have seen
Jinjer has done jazz/ contemporary stuff. Home back and beggars dance are some examples but then again I could be mislabelling the genre
I think BOO-YA come from Jamaica slang. I heard in the 90s before
The big secret or key to this song is to hold a cat right before you sing, I don’t why it works? It just does.
A lot of reactors including the ones who fake loving it just don't like the way it's laid out. Perennial is my favorite also btw what got me into Jinjer was a song years ago just check it out on your own no reaction. It's called Waltz. After that just fell in the tunnel. Love her voice 😊
Tati doing jazz? Check out beggar's dance, or the middle of home back.
