MUSIC PRODUCTION - How I make soundtracks for YouTube videos.
Ойын-сауық
Here is a walkthrough of how I make digital tunes and soundtracks for my KZread videos.
I'm still grasping at the fundamentals of "music theory", so this is all very basic and involves a lot of trying to rely on my ear... which may not be nearly as refined as yours. :)

When I watched the original video 'treasure every extra egg' really made me smile because it calls back to something I heard years ago, it was something like: You can keep Chickens, you can keep them healthy and safe, keep them warm and fed and they will give you eggs, and some days you'll have eggs and some days you won't. Don't be unhappy on the days you don't have eggs, because some days you'll have more than you expect."

I have grown up around music but never learned how music was made. The way you talk about the story of the song was amazing. It honestly has made me think more about the music I listen to aside from just the lyrics, but also the tonal choices the artists make. I had always seen music creation as this thing that few people can do well, but now it makes me feel like I could make something myself. And I think I will, so thank you Crafsman for this. Keep on Steady Jamming! (Incidentally I think that would be a great name for a small series if you decide to talk more about making music!)

Mannn, I appreciate that! Straight-up, music videos are a fave of mine (it's why I like to do so many "music montages", LOL) and I have this idea tentatively called "Analog Dreams" (will change it at some point) that involves a macro lens "floating" through vintage electronic circuitry while lo-fi music made up of vintage samples plays. There wouldn't be a real narrative... just (hopefully) pretty visuals and music playing for a while. That being said, it won't be to the level of YOUR music videos! I remember buying a very early Ensoniq ESQ-1 synth along with a Yamaha Rev 7 reverb back in the early 80's. Having those 8 tracks on the synth that could be unified was a very productive period for me. This ESQ-1 was so early it was all metal, (except for the keys, of course) But after only having it for a few days, Guitar Center contacted me to say Patrick Gleeson wanted to "borrow" it. Back then he was a big deal. Looks like getting these was a slow process. I never called back. I still have this keyboard, needs a new battery, (has to be soldered in), and it never left my bedroom. It's still minty, always covered. I hear these are going up in value now.

I did spring the $15 for Cosmos, but I'm a bit worried that goes into the category of "Things I bought because I had aspirations of becoming more organized, but which do not actually make you more organized. " Like an expensive trip to The Contain Store when really I should be throwing things out. ;] I was just in the shop working on some wacky shots, that are really just a setup for a dumb joke I though of earlier today. This is something that I was lookin into anyways and for it to be put out by my favorite KZreadr is amazing!!
CrafsMan... "Audacity... downloading? Apparently I didn't know I needed that" LOL. ❤👏 You are a wonderful treasure! And you have a good ear, even though you say you have no music theory, but you intuitively know what sounds right... WOW! What you're doing is so impressive!!! To get a bit jargony... I have a few KORG synths, like the Triton, but I'm just a tinker and still learning... I've recently wanted to do a deeper dive into Music Theory and some of it is abstract. One thing I ran across that might be useful for your work are the various modes of the scales and depending on the mode you can stir up different moods, minor or major sounding but in the same key... Each scale has 7 modes.. if you can find a video that plays them you can hear, it seems powerful for what you are doing with your music scores to set the tone... conceptually very simple but the names are so odd why can't they just use numbers like Mode-3, instead this is how they're arranged (or deranged LOL) The C major scale and its modes: C = Ionian, D = Dorian, E = Phrygian, F = Lydian, G = Mixolydian, A = Aeolian and B = Locrian. So you are in the same key, but the mode is where you start and end on the note... Like Phrygian is E, F, G, A, B, C, D, E... if you play that sequence of notes that's the C Phrygian scale... Again I don't get it, I'm sure it's historical and everyone else but ME gets it... LOL What I'm working on right now is learning the more advanced cord structures, I have much of the basics like Dim/Aug/ Sus/7th, etc. but what I need to work on are the cord extensions, and modifications that sort of thing... a lot of "add13" in Jazz and other harmonies... Just yesterday I had a piece of sheet music that said to play a CMaj6... And I wasn't sure... I'm scratching my head... I looked it up and it's a C Major cord with an added 'A' or the 6th note in the scale of C Major... so the notes are: C-E-G-A, and a Cmaj6(add9) just adds the note D on the top. I think once I get used to that it will come more naturally... one of these days.
Yay new video!!
INCREDIBLE VALUE, Crafsman! …also, major props to Crafs-son for the pixelated intro. 🎉

Hey there! Wow - that sounds like fun, to be honest, but I don't know if I could *trust* myself to do it. LOL! What I mean is - I'm lacking in the truly PROFESSIONAL side when it comes to things like the final mix, making it sound right on a variety of devices, getting the maximum volume/loudness, compression, reducing dynamic range, etc... That being said, my son develops small games on the side and is also getting into the sound side.
