The movie who truly made me love cinema. I'm 28 years old now and I've watched a lot of movies during my life, but this one (just some months ago) really triggered some deeper understanding of what cinema's actually able to convey. Thanks, Tarkovsky.

A great, great film. Requires patience and several viewings. It is worth the effort. I've watched it 3 times by myself and have convinced several others to watch it. To a person they were completely perplexed by the film. I told each to watch it again. It requires careful observation and demands reflection. If you're looking for simple answers, this is not the film to watch. It's the questions that matter here. A Russian friend told me that she was almost overwhelmed with emotion the first time she watched it. She said it is - for her - the quintessential Russian film. "You will make bells and I will paint icons."
