I have two silhouettes. One is about 25 years old, and one is from 2017. Both are fantastic

Yeah, what a great design. I'm hooked!

I own this guitar, wanted to mention the positions are not typical on this guitar... positions 1, 2 and 3 are the individual pickups on their own. Position 4 is all 3 pickups in series and position 5 is the neck and bridge only, also in series, none of these pickup positions are tapped (which explains the lack of quack). So basically if you want the neck pickup on it's own you'd select position 3. I did a post on this in the music man forums back when this came out titled "NGD - Music Man July 2020 BFR Silhouette Silver Flake Sparkle"... there's an official ebmm switching diagram for this model, which wasn't included with my guitar unfortunately, included in that post.

That explains a lot. Thanks so much for the clarification. I'll see if I can track that down. It might be a good time to take it to a friend of mine for a little re-wire. As much as I love this guitar, some quack would be the icing on the cake.

@@houseofshred3725 No worries, join the official music man forums if you haven't and do a search for that post I mentioned if you want a copy of the diagram. I haven't got around to it, but I plan on doing some re-wiring/possible pickup swaps myself... I find the pickups pretty muddy and the switching choice kind of silly honestly, but I love the guitar itself. :)

I have the same issue with a sabre (blue moonstone) I just bought a few months ago. Love the way it sounds and as for the way it looks it's my dream guitar, but the lack of the forearm cut really bothers me sometimes.

I couldn't jive with the fret size either. Ended up selling it (which hurt BAD) and buying a silver sparkle Silhouette which turned out to be a great decision. Cheers

DR's and Daddarrio 9-42's. I know all the cool kids use heavy strings, but I like em light.

Bro, you're complaining that the guitar doesn't have that quack sound Like a strat or a Gem. You need to remember that your playing a guitar with 3 HUMBUCKERS. if you want it more snappy, take out that middle chopper pickup and install a SINGLECOIL pickup. Got to use the right tool for the right job. If your going for a nice bluesy tone, you're probably not going to use Metal Zone. 🤷🏾‍♂️. If you want single coil tone, don't buy a guitar with three humbucker🤦🏾‍♂️
