My first Silhouette is a 2002. My second one is a 2012. Absolutely the very best solid body electric guitars I have ever owned over the last 50 years. That includes Strats, Teles, LPs, SGs, et al. None compare tonally or build quality. Light weight with incredible versatility. I sold all of my other solid body guitars to purchase a second Silhouette with a tremolo tailpiece. Now I have both versions. Mostly I play my hard tail but use both when performing. I would love to find a pristine 20th Anniversary model with the piezo option. Oh yeah, a maple fingerboard is essential.

i know this is old an old thread, but i am looking for one now and i got to have the rosewood model. I agree that for this guitar a maple board is maybe the best, it's just that i don't like maple enough to continue playing. So I'll concede that point to you, yet i wanna stress that a rosewood fingerboard must also be pretty awesome...

@XxboVodxX Lol, thats a bit of a silly comment. He could easily adjust the strap to make it reach his hip, you know. It's just preference.

@AOSoloist Its not to do with sound so much as playability... satin necks/unglossed necks are smoother and fastee

You know whether he sits or stands the guitar would be in the same position.. gravity isn't going to change or the strap turn to putty.

But i thought positions 2 and 4 split the humbuckers and that is why it becomes straty sounding...

Weird. I think you missed the point. I'm calling him an amateur, because he can't make the guitar 'come'. Refering to SRV and hendrix over your misinterpretation of my comment is pretty weak - especially since you're presenting yourself as an intellectual. (fld1202 easily got the joke, btw) Further, you're a hypocrite - you obviously DON'T ignore people like me while YOU sit behind YOUR computer. Oh, and lastly, who doesn't wanna be a rock god, duh?

I aint hating but why do guitar demos only play blues. Let's be honest, no one teens which are the future listen to blues. Its a fact. Just like how the best blues artists did not listen to swing jazz. You should play punk pop, nu metal, black metal, alternative rock with these guitars. tHats what kids want to hear. Its a bad business plan to sell to only the old, you want to be hip and fun.

hahahaha its the opposite kiddo! theres a zillion bedroom videos out there of young kids like yourself demoing their guitars playing a zillion notes up and down the neck like yngwie wannabes never letting the song to "breathe" I was wishing the opposite wishing there were more blues and jazz clips of slower styles so I can actually hear what the guitars sound like! you be surprised how a lot of kids like blues and classic rock! Blues is the foundation of most of the music you hear! the best blues artists ACTUALLY listened to jazz! Blues players back in the 30s and 40s listened to jazz to build their own style just as most classic rock musicians formed rock from the blues and so on and so on! you gotta understand the history of music to understand where most of the styles you like came from! Back in my day, in 50s and 60s all we had were jazz and blues records and those godawful mel bay guitar books where we were forced to learn the fucking standards of classical crap and we didn't have internet back then We had to either learn on our own from scratch listening to our favorite records or do away with those horrendous teachers trying to shovel classical music down our throats so US guitar players had to develop it by ear mostly back then.. you should be LUCKY you got internet to scour the videos for the styles of music you want to learn just type it up on the search above or google it! they shouldn't be that hard to find!

I have a EBMM BFR Luke, and I can't play anything else. EBMM necks are easily the best. If your play them just right, they'll come in your face. This guy's an amateur.
