If you're paying 200k to get your song on the radio, something is definitely wrong lol. I've been in the radio game for over 30 years and all you needed was a dope track. We were the first station to play Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me" in Hawaii (Hot I-94). Great interview though, and most of what he says happens in the industry. Keep up the great work and much Aloha!

You're not "Paying" $200k to get your song on the radio, you are USING the LABEL and their RESOURCES to SERVICE & PROMOTE your NEW song that EVERYONE at the LABEL AGREES ON. That can range in price bc EVERYTHING costs. Travel, Marketing, PR, Radio Promotional Events, High School Prom takeovers, Charity events, PROMO Tours, DJ Appreciation events, ETC ETC. That's where the TOTAL Amount is ESTIMATED to it takes! Bad news, it could REQUIRE MORE or LESS! It's a song by song basis. What works for YOUR song may not work for a different song. Way more than just "saying" it, if that makes sense family......

I’m def looking to build relationships in the music game at this point. I’m close enough to Atlanta that I can make something happen. I’m just as talented as a lot of what I hear on the radio these days. And much of it is garbage. Idk how everybody keeps getting famous.

You're not wining and dining them, you're BUILDING a relationship with them. Could go golfing, do charity events with them, whatever MAKE SENSE. Look at it positively vs the opposite. Team Building, supporters are needed on EVERY level in life!
