The packaging of the inoculated compost medium for shipping was very interesting. Are these "blocks" then sold off to farmers? In Canada, we send the sterilized compost to the farmers who then inoculate the medium. Thanks for posting this. Very interesting.

This is great! My wood chips are constantly sprouting mushrooms during the summers. Especially after hot days. So it makes sense that there could be a system like this to be used residentially too. Ingenious!

bro, i just go into my backyard, get dead leaves, dry it, blend it up into powder, and mix it with a 2:1:1 ratio of vermiculite:blended leaves:water. sometimes i even just soak the leaves in boiling water to make a tea and then soak news paper in it. all works well. mycelium literally eats anything dead and organic.

In the 9 years since this video was posted the process has become more streamlined.. lots of innovation, less labour intensive and none plastic packaging for the modern mushroom farms..

this is what will save America's soils from pollution. restores the organisms in the soil. getting minerals and elements back on our souls is another part of the puzzle. anyone have a volcano on tap? lol

Any kind of mycelium can be used. Even store bought.
